Ill break it down in layman terms though… Yral and BOB deployed tens of thousands of canisters ( around 200-300k ) over the last few weeks. A lot of these canisters are essentially the same as each other, they either mine or peform functionality on behalf of a user in Yral’s case. One thing a lot of the canisters have in common though is they all use a feature called “heart beat”. Imagine you wanted to programmatically do something every second, minute, hour, it’s a pretty common feature to have in most development environments. The problem is, the heart beats of thousands of canisters all asking the subnet to process them causes a backlog because the current dfinity solution sucks. What this results in is timeout errors because the outer transport layers adhere to a time limit of around 3 minutes. So, the canisters wait to be processed and the subnet can’t process enough of them in a fast enough time and so eventually the http protocol kicks in and says, well, ive waited 3 minutes and so now im just going to tell the client ( user ) that nothing happened ( time out ). It sucks because the solution is going to take a while and nobody can agree on a short term quick fix while dfinity create a good fix to the problem. So everyone’s projects are suffering and paying a shit load more cycles to get priority to have their heartbeats and canisters run first. Jerry for some reason refuses to cover the bad news

I first heard about ICP 4 years ago. A doctor I work with was always talking crypto with me and he was always buying ICP. I really liked that guy and we worked well together. Unfortunately he was shot and killed by his crazy girlfriend that also shot and killed her mother same day. Anyways I would think about him and when ICP was cheap like around $5 I started buying in. I thought man I’ll buy some and see based on why he was buying. I have over 100 now and I’ll probably get some more.
