If Obito hadn't been so driven to destroy the leaf, but instead the ones responsible for his and Rin's death. Hiruzen wouldn't have been able to torture Naruto and Sasuke the way he did by forcing them to stay alone and unaware. And Danzo wouldn't have had ANY further influence that created most of the problems within the leaf. No secret he'd spill on Naruto. No insane Chakra Monsters. No Shisui attack. Shisui could have been able to use Kotoamatsukami to stop the Coup by Fugaku and the Uchiha, but instead make them think that now that there's a power gap with the loss of his rival as 4th Hokage contenders, Fugaku could become the 5th Hokage and bring peace to the land of fire and maintain a strong Konoha. Breaking the curse of Hatred Sasuke would eventually develope. (Because the coup that made him hate Itachi and then the Village elders) The leaf police force could have gone on protecting the Village without the hatred towards being pushed out towards the outskirts. They'd be involved. They'd get what they want. The leaf would maintain its strength. Hiruzen wouldn't have ruined everyone's lives alongside Danzo, and Kakashi wouldn't have to raise Naruto because HELLO SASUKE AND ITACHIS MOM. YOU KNOW. KUSHINAS BEST FRIEND. Who already wanted to take care of him and carry on their legacy. Creating a neat and disciplined and loving Naruto who never knew that pain and could never get out of hand because Fugaku's MS. Yeah ..... thanks Obito.

I think Anko was fighting the curse mark due to the connection with her dishonoured sensei. It's a physical mark of a very bad memory. If anything... I believe the curse mark repressed her potential, as it was both a constant reminder and she had to fight it back on some level when she was trying to push herself in training. It could equally go the other way if she learned to use it; it would become a crutch. Anko would never allow herself to rely on the cursed power of her former sensei, she's too prideful for that.

I think your script is solid, the video work excellent. One thing I would've wished is that Guy Sensei would've had a bigger role in all this as Kakashi's #1 rival. Well, at least being mentioned occasionally. Like Kakashi tells Naruto it's good that he has a good rival and tells him a few stories of his own rivalry and the contests they've had.

When reading Naruto for the first time I asked myself why Kakashi or Hiruzen didn't raise Naruto personally. Although it would have been nice for Naruto to have a parental figure I always felt like there's no way this could work; Kakashi was way too young to be a father and would probably spend most of his time out on missions, moreover Hiruzen would have been really busy being hokage again. It still makes no sense that Naruto wasn't raised by someone, that the Hokage couldn't find a trusted enough person that would value and raise the son of the 4th hokage and jinchuriki of the leaf. Naruto is probably the most important person in Konoha and still it appears there is no one who knows the truth about him and is willing to treat him the way he deserves. It's true that jinchuriki are generally outcasts but it's mostly because they have a history of losing control and being dangerous, this is never the case for Naruto since Minato made sure that only small amounts of Chakra could leak out. Overall the least Sarutobi should have done is revealing to everyone that Naruto was the son of the 4th, which would instantly make him a hero to the Village, he should have at least done this after Danzo fucked up Naruto's social life.

Answer: Short: I think to a level Anko had a bit of wasted potential although I think people abuse the idea of "wasted potential" by thinking a character shows up, does something cool and that means they have main-high side character level strength. I think people abuse this a lot and accidentally bash on Sakura or purposely when they don't realize she's like a hidden talent who might have potential which is slightly lower than, equaling, or surpassing Naruto and Sasuke's... Not all these characters had great potential overall the wasted portion might just be how the story failed to acknowledge them again or the lack of what we learned even in filler. Not every character could become main character level status with training and that and honestly I think people overestimate Hinata a lot as I always saw Hinata and Sakura kinda like a bit reversed. One was a civilian and the other felt like Royalty. One had great hidden potential and the other really didn't. Although past those 2 points I don't really remember what else would fit. They both kind of end up becoming their crushes fangirl in the end. In my opinion you had Neji exist and beat Hinata and Hanabi earlier in timeline beat Hinata to really show that she wasn't really all that much or about the Ninja lifestyle. The point of Hinata in my opinion from what I can think up without going into a massive comment is that there were those who were gifted yet without talent/potential. I thought of this a lot when I thought that many adult or higher Chunin-Jonin's exist at quite a low level and with the scope of the world that just becomes weaker and weaker. That one filler of the Eternal Genin showed as well that even old age doesn't change your rank sometimes and that theme I feel was not really picked up or shown well enough. I don't want to continue this or it will end up as long. Long: I might need another comment. You... Always say these things... ===== I was just about to bring up Sakura but you did... Let's see how the one month treats her depending on how it goes she truly could make a massive difference. Assuming she gets her match. I'm actually wondering who is stronger base-base when it comes to this squad. OK Dosu... Yeah see... Neji vs Naruto really be like the worst fight. It really sometimes makes me wonder how "talented" Neji really is or what the point of the fight is. It ends so easily so in any What-ifs where Naruto gets the Rasengan that spiral vs the other one ends up in the Rasengan winning if not worse it might just absorb his attack/defense to a degree and get stronger wouldn't be the first time Rasengan acts like that to an object well maybe the first time in a "Canon" but these are What-ifs so it's free real estate. Can't go wrong with Genjutsu's. Answer 2: Ok I don't think they were completely wasted I just think we didn't get to see enough of them and their motivations before they went to be a dumbass... If that was built up better then maybe... It would be like someone saying Yaroi was wasted potential... The only other purpose I could see Dosu serving is being betrayed and that's really it. Well I do get the idea that they had sound and that I think it might have been better for someone else to learn that or a new character to come in rather than just the one who introduces it. No shafting of Kabuto? We are not free yet... I just need to see if Kabuto comes back then... Curse mark can make up the difference... So can Hatred and the Sharingan but where do you go with it? I think Sakura would go on it... Snitch Dosu... COME ON YOU DON'T EVEN GET THE DEAL FIRST. Man learn from Amado... Even though he hasn't been shown yet. QOTD: Tayuya!!! I like most of the sound 4 except Jirobo. Since he just throw rock. Although Tayuya I like because of the games and because she actually fights physically sometimes and uses Genjutsu I feel like if anything she's wasted potential or her fight is because Temari just kinda comes in and boom. I kinda hoped each side would have a way to beat or escape from their Sound 4 foes and I think that could have made quite an interesting arc depending on who you choose. Maybe I should make that a What-if. Because if they Escape clearly they are gonna go back to Sasuke and it would be funny to see their reaction to Cloaked Naruto maybe trying to help Sasuke but once Naruto gets a single tail and Sasuke's in second form either all the Sound 4 get One Shot or they retreat realizing they can't do shit and can't convince Sasuke not to fight Naruto which could hint more to Sasuke's motivations in the battle which eventually don't come true. Order(Sorry if I butcher the names) 1: Tayuya 2: Kimimaro 3: Kidomaru 4: Sakon 4.5: Ukon 5: Jirobo KABUTO RESPECT! Does this make a stronger Hebi Sasuke? Maybe one with a Fire STyle Chidori or similar tech. As he might assume the only reason NAruto won was because his Rasengan was an element counter. Which really makes this Sasuke impressive. No nova or sun or Hellfire. SENIN MODE! Oh shiz... I don't think so... QOTD 2?: Sakumo is pretty cool. I think the issue is that he's introduced in a point where it's like retcons and things kinda happen I don't know if I want to fully call them retcons but a video exists addressing that although let's move past that point. I think it's vague if he was stronger than the Sanin or just had a better reputation but I think he at least compared to that level. Like Kakashi compares right below that level and possibly at it or higher in certain points. Although I won't reach too far. We don't really know much about him like "Prime Hiruzen." Although I think really all I wish is either to see something about them or a better build up. I was fine with their death as it shows something people ignore a whole lot. Mental effects and Regret along with the butterfly effects that come with it. Long: Once again... My gosh you made me think she had 100 healings already... This makes it seem like Sasuke bout to get bodied but it depends he most likely would train harder as well because Naruto was just straight up talented and powerful so it most likely is more than just a type matchup. Sasuke also has certain abilities that can get him out of such situations. That's a questionable debate of who is more powerful out of Sai and Hinata but I guess it might not be talking about that. The emotionless Boi who just says what he sees. Avoids Child Support. I'm fine with it being a coin flip. My points would be that Sage Naruto was stronger than Jiraiya and possibly stronger than a What-if Perfect Jiraiya at that point. It's hard to tell if his form had less sense capability I don't know if he would keep his arm although if he decides to be more defensive and escape earlier then it does make sense. QOTD 3: I'm fine with Jiraiya dying at least more than Neji but the storm games gave him a better death. QOTD 4?: ? - Oh I forgot the end of the pain arc I was just fine with Jiraiya's death being delayed. Tendo is busted. I think 4 Tails and Sage mode are kinda relative in power. Granted Bijuu transformations can vary in their power. Five Tails? That might make a difference although I think it's based on how the battle goes. = At this point it's your story while I know some stuff won't change but... I don't know about that decision because it reminds me of Sasuke's thing where it's no longer his issue I guess it makes a bit of sense although the learning part might not be needed. QOTD 5?: Neji... Neji and Byakuya were similar characters for me. I liked them both and their potential. But Byakuya did it better and I kind of felt bad that Neji died like that while Byakuya lived like that but mainly because Neji didn't really get anything from how I saw it. Although I guess it's because it's "Naruto" with a bit of Sasuke. Sorry if I'm another Pitchfork. KABUTO WASN'T SHAFTED. Orochimaru and a different Jiraiya arc. Well let me end off this comment here as it's "THE LAST" and I really don't like this movie. My next comment will not be me going into detail about the QOTD it will be power-scaling and maybe some more reaction.
