During the Fourth Shinobi World War, we see Kakashi lose his Sharingan to Madara Uchiha who uses it to enter the Kamui Dimension. How he did this I don’t know, since the Kamui Kakashi uses is distant Kamui, not immediate area Kamui like Obito. I assume it’s a plot hole. Regardless, Ten-Tails Jinchuriki Madara takes it from him and uses it to get to the Kamui Dimension where he reclaims his second Rinnegan from Obito while simultaneously returning his second sharingan to Obito. Kakashi is left blinded until Naruto uses Six-Paths chakra to heal his eye. But this was not the last we saw of Kakashi’s sharingan, as he once more reclaimed not only his own Mangekyo Sharingan, but Obito’s OTHER Mangekyo Sharingan at the same time after the latter’s death. How it worked exactly I can’t remember. Some spirit thing. Point is that for a while, Kakashi had two Mangekyo Sharingan like a bonafide Uchiha. However, after the defeat of Kaguya Otsutsuki, Obito’s soul moved on to the afterlife, and the power he bestowed upon Kakashi’s eyes to turn them into Sharingan was gone, and Kakashi was returned to being a normal dude. But sometimes I wonder, what would have happened differently had Kakashi kept those awesome peepers permanently?

Kakashi says while he has Obito's soul in him, that he had access to Six Paths Power. I feel like if he kept Obito's soul, then he'd still have access to that, meaning he probably wouldn't suffer drawbacks from using his Mangekyo, or any form of blindness and even if his Six Paths Power "ran out," Naruto and/or Sakura could just spam heal his eyes.

@aronkalacska8695 yes, the sharingan emerges with special chakra from the person who awakened it. Transplanted sharingan draw chakra constantly to remain active, so someone with a transplanted sharingan does not have the ability to turn it on or off, which again ties back to needing the unique chakra that created it in order to activate it. The eyes themselves retain the dōjutsu, but Kakashi would need to replicate exactly Obito's Sharingan chakra to turn it back on, and the power draw would be so high that he'd be unlikely to maintain it, and he wouldn't be able to turn it off. After all, just one kept his chakra stores heavily drained through most of the manga. He kept it covered to reduce its chakra draw, but actually using it for anything basically wiped him out immediately.

Non uchiha users cannot deactivate their sharingan, if Kakashi still had his sharigan then it would be visible and obvious. In Boruto he has the purple lightning to replace the chidori cus he cant use it without sharingan. Stop these nonsens headcanon. After Kaguya arc he lost his I mean Obitos sharingan period

Momoshiki and Isshiki are kinda screwed, assuming Kakashi is getting stronger like Naruto and Sasuke. I don't think Momoshiki can absorb Kamui because it just warps the space and possibly can just teleport Momoshiki's arm. And we don't know if Momoshiki can regenerate like Kaguya. As for Isshiki, he can probably shrink Kamui Shuriken but he probably won't be able to shrink the long range Kamui that Kakashi used. Not to mention both Momoshiki and Isshiki are physical fighters so they can't really fight Kakashi who can make himself intangible. Isshiki would probably rage quit more than he did against Sasuke's Rinnegan 😂

because kakashi being there with naruto, sasuke , boruto and kawaki versus isshiki would change the whole sinario as isshiki only have certain amount of time. And kakashi using his fullpower against isshiki would use alot of his life/time, which would be enough to let kuruma live, As baryon mode garuentes the death of kuruma. Baryon mode depends on how much you use it after sometime kuruma's chakra ran out and he died. So if kakashi would have wasted sometime then I think kuruma may have survived.

It is a bit... wonky, although Kamui does teleport between dimensions. Storm 4 did it differently. Obito flat out gives them both to him, before he decays completely.

Personally I wish the writers would have had Kakashi keep Obito's sharingan and have Obito's chakara stay behind to help Kakashi use them whenever he needs to fight. Obito's soul would have crossed over with Rin but a part of him stays behind to watch over Kakashi. Also I wish the three tails would have asked Kakashi or Might Guy to become his jinjuriki to make up for the trouble he had a part in causing Rin's death. He could help Kakashi with chakara to use the sharingan or he could have healed Guy's body and be a huge asset with protecting the Leaf Village. Also have the one tail hang out around Garra as an advisor/protector of the sand village.

Yeah, but kakashi spams his sharingan(and likely his mangekyou) in the 4th war, even when he hasnt recieve chakra from kurama/naruto, so id imagine if he able to keep obito's DMS he will be able to use it for quite a bit without tiring himself out and yes even the susanoo(not the perfect one though that sh*t takes massive amount of chakra) and he could even lend some chakra from naruto(war ark style) and just like that he could use dms more efficiently

Madara using Kamui and going to Kamui dimension isn't a plothole. Kakashi's MS works as a "portal" which teleports any object to Kamui dimension. So, Madara opened a portal and went through it to reach Obito.
