What if Grandpa Gohan was a farmer? Plot justification- Roshi's 'Turtle Hermit' training involved manual labor, including plowing fields. Gohan incorporated this into his own physical conditioning and would teach Goku to farm as an aspect of martial arts training. Thus Goku would learn a basic understanding of math, science, grammar, and general knowledge of society (AKA what a girl is) by selling their crops with nearby villages.

@@FallenL1ght_ Yeah if Gohan was 'just' a farmer, he would of likely been baby Kakarot's first victim. But with farming a pseudo-hobby of Goku's parental figure, he should be more rounded person. (Opposed to the Fighting Savant of Canon) If you are so inclined, Gohan's customers could learn of his death and result in Goku getting adopted/orphanage with the 4 Star Ball as a keepsake.

It would probably mean that goku and chichi would probably come to a bit of middle ground when it comes to gohan meaning he would fight a bit more not to the point of becoming the main character but definitely being a lot stronger

Group gravity training(Raditz will mention something about the gravity) Raditz gets a potential unlock (all of them are stronger anyways) At least a 15x or 20x boost for everyone depending on the time(Goku got 9x boost in 6 days with intense gravity on its own) Zenkais for the saiyans(do I need to give a reason for it?)

Opinion: guru's potential unlock would still be useful as both guru is older thus can probably dig more out of someone, and between kami potential unlock and guru time will have passed. Additionally I would argue this is one of the few abilities piccolo would keep if/when he and kami fuse as it fits piccolo's role as mentor and teacher (basically serves as a way to quickly bring newer casties up to a useful baseline.)

Potential Unlock is actually huge. It's the reason Gohan can grow _So Fast_ during intense training. It's also the reason Krillin outgrows Tenshinhan. Potential Unlock breaks down the locks on one's potential, the bottlenecks that create plateaus in growth and requires Limit Break Events

Amazing idea just struck me. What if Kami went to Namek too! And he meets Guru! And Guru recognizes him because they’re both so old. And Guru unlocks Kamis potential and Piccolos potential. Foreshadowing. When Kami and Piccolo fuse eventually..they’d be stronger than SSJ2 Gohan!

Which obviously that affects things like maybe Gohan won’t need to turn SSJ2 bcuz Piccolo kills Cell. But...what if it makes the dragon balls stronger by Kamis strength growing? And what if Piccolo and Kami fused can still control the dragon balls? And with their strength...the wishes can be bigger. Not held back by the things that he dragon said weren’t in his power..because the dragon should be at least as powerful as the namekian.

What if Gohan drank the Ultra Divine Water before or after entering the Time Chamber with Goku, What if Goku was the first "evolved" Saiyan (like the Universe 6 Saiyan's who are born without a tail and have more potential), What if Kami regained his youth when King Piccolo did, What if Elder Guru fused with Kami before he died, What if Bulma found Androids 13, 14 and 15 used their parts to upgrade Android 16.

I'm kind of surprised that in the 1 year training you didn't have Goku go train with King Kai. He could have easily made the trip down snake way in less than a day. Unless you're saving it for the next part maybe? All in all I think it's a good beginning.

Nice the Saiyans Saga turned out fine, and it looks like Raditz is turning good here. I'm hoping to see Gohan begin training in the next part (Not going up against Frieza of course) to help defend herself if needed maybe Raditz personally training Gohan some and doubles as a way to get to know each. Anyways overall another really good start to this new series, and looking forward to the next part soon. What if suggestion: What if Gohan was similar to Broly?

I like the premise a lot. And you made a lot of choices I agree with, like Gohan not being as involved in the fight since he wasn't as needed. I'm interested in seeing where Piccolo's story takes him though, it could be fun if him and Gohan still end up becoming friends. Perhaps Piccolo spying on Goku, keeping an eye on what's going on, and Gohan discovers him and is just kinda like "Hi.." and then their friendship grows from there maybe? Lol, I dunno, but I'm interested in seeing where this goes in the future!

Or...last idea. What if Kami used the earths dragon to wish for his youth because he felt the world was in danger with the approaching saiyans? And if he trained in the time chamber with the specific goal of making the dragons wishes stronger. Strong enough to defeat the saiyans with a wish. And the stronger Kami gets, the more the dragon can do.

This is quite fun. Goku beating on Raditz till the Oozaru, defending him against Piccolo, and had the upper hand against the Saiyans for the most part. Also, Raditz getting a redemption arc is a nice plus. This is very beneficial to the Humans since they get a nice headstart in power and don't die. I'm curious what you'll do with Piccolo and Gohan, since those two were major players in the original Saiyan Saga and with the threat of Frieza probably coming to Earth. Always a pleasure to see an upload, Manga. See ya next time around here.

There’s precedent for it. Some members of different races just have unusually high potential for their race. Frieza or Broly for example, and I mean, yeah they were unusual and mutants of their race but who’s to say that Videl couldn’t be similar in terms of potential? Just for humans instead. Excluding that angle, the type of stories and folklore the franchise draws heavy inspiration from is full of once a millennia prodigies “blessed by the heavens” and “strongest under the sun.” (Which is actually the literal translation of Tenkaichi Budokai - “number one under the sun” or “number one under heaven” - so it thematically fits) Pan would be ridiculously powerful and have monstrous natural potential if Videl and Gohan still got together in that case. Enough to truly justify, perhaps, having a God of Destruction and an angel as an uncle/babysitter.

The V-Jump scan does say 250k for vegeta but frieza wasnt going all out and was just playing around as we can see frieza smirking and laughing the whole time because if he was serious he would be nervous or point out that vegeta is close to his power but also after the initial clash we see vegeta panting heavily while frieza is calm and not tired, also vegeta before the clash says that if all three of them (krillin gohan and vegeta) fight frieza they would win, he wouldnt include them if he wasnt confident in winning himself due to pride and such

There’s no indication frieza was holding back. If he thought he could handle someone in a form he wouldn’t transform as seen when Gohan actually hurt him but instead of transforming he just increased his ki even more. Yes frieza was smiling before the clash he can’t sense ki but he was not smiling when vegeta caught his first blow nor when his scouter broke so he wasn’t smiling the whole time. He started smiling again when vegeta told him to transform something he knew could handle the situation. Weighted piccolo had the upper hand the prideful vegeta who can sense ki admitted this but frieza still didn’t transform in that situation he just increased his ki and forced piccolo to remove his weights. He didn’t transform the last time until gohan once again landed a solid blow so frieza only transforms when he’s feels like the current transformation isn’t enough to completely dominant a fight and a 530,000 vs 250,000 + Friends (200,000 gohan, 75,000 krillin) would dominate a fight we see this with nappa who was 4,000 and even piccolo at 3,500 working together with krillin wasn’t enough to beat him. Also yes vegeta thought they could win if they worked together but he knew about frieza’s transformations knowing frieza would get stronger

This is a really fun video, looking forward to part 2. I think Goku having a PL of 30,000 makes sense for the Saiyan Arc in terms of narrative pacing, but I do think you could scale it higher without much effort. I will assume the PL of 2500 the Goku has in the Raditz fight is him in weighted clothing based on how you worded the confrontation, and thus that his true PL would be around 3100. If we use your idea that the average zenkai gives +30%, that would mean Goku should be at a PL of 4000 after he finishes healing. However, we know from within the narrative that he should have also been getting passively stronger from the boost during that period of time. If we use the 1.77x scaling factor you chose here (23000/13000 for Krillin), then Goku should be closer to 7100 after he gets his zenkai. Personally, I think a ~4x improvement in 3 months is a little weak. I can see intense group training getting him to 40,000. If he trains with Piccolo, then the Androids arc shows us that all bets are off (you can argue that fusing with Nail gave Piccolo greater potential, but that's never been proven or stated in any official source). Thus, if Goku train intensely with Piccolo and the post-unlock humans, his power level could probably be scaled anywhere from 40,000-60,000 imo (and maybe 100,000 for those people that are dead set on having a justification for feeling that way).

Yes 2500 is weighted 3000 is unweighted I rounded down the exact number is 3055. Zenkai would round him up to 4,000 overtime growth he would be 7,000 exact number is 7027. How much stronger goku got with piccolo is unknown but we know piccolo at least caught up to around ssj level which is the same logic I used here with goku catching up to the human z fighters. Strongest human I stated was tien at 24,000 so I’m curious why you think 40,000 is a better number plus he never trained with piccolo he only trained with the humans. If you want to say goku caught up by training by himself and using piccolo’s growth he would be 60,000 but at the same time piccolo was clearly image training and his goal was raditz and surpassing him since his Allies were stronger Tldr I can’t see them going higher than 30,000 with no goal in mind goku got that high because his friends were his goal and he surpassed them

So Goku went from around 300-400 to over 8,000-9,000 (over 8,000 in the manga, over 9,000 in the dub) during his year of training under King Kai. That’s anywhere from a 20-30 times increase _in around 5-6 six months_ due to having to traverse Snake Way. While the training with King Kai _was_ under 10x gravity, it was training alone and without sparring partners. I think having sparring partners even if only just towards the final quarter of the year (which Whis has stated makes for better and more effective training), a Zenkai from the fight with Raditz, and the gradual strengthening effects of a potential unlock should reasonably have taken a post-Raditz Zenkai Goku who’s probably around 2,500-3,500 at that time up to 15-20 times stronger over the course of a *full year* of training. So a range of anywhere between 37,500 and 70,000. I think, realistically for this point in the timeline, somewhere between 45,000 and 60,000 would make more sense. It ends up making little difference for this point in the story though. 30,000 just seems slightly too low.

Yes whis said training with other “saiyans” gives them better results but You’re comparing king Kai’s training to the training on earth which I don’t believe is fair in the slightest. King Kai’s planet like you said has 10xs earths gravity and we see how gravity training vastly increases your strength throughout the series. They are still using gravity training/weighted clothes in super. Plus king Kai taught goku new ways to utilize ki which is essential to fighting as seen when ginyu switched bodies with goku and only had a power level of 23,000. Goku even outright says it’s because he can’t use his ki properly. You’re also using a very specific timeframe which I again don’t think is fair for these calculations. Goku went from 8,000 to 90,000 in 5 days on his trip to Namek using the 6th day to rest. So 11.25xs stronger every 5 days he should be in the millions within a year but on the flip side of that goku went from a super kamehameha of 910 in the piccolo jr saga to 924 in the Raditz saga which is only 1.02xs stronger in 5 years. Everything is clearly a case by case basis depending on the training you do and the goals you set for yourself. With no goals or new training you get goku only getting 1.02xs stronger in 5 years but when you add a goal your power jumps astonishingly example the goal in the vegeta arc for the humans was bare minimum as strong as raditz and they all got to that point doing the exact same training goku did in 1/3 the time.

I think this idea of potential unlock should enable the humans to remain relevant in the story. It's a continual itch of mine for the Z-fighters to get more love. An interesting fact. When Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu trained with Kami, they grew stronger than Goku did in one year compared to when Goku trained with him for three years. And when Tien, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu went to train with King Kai, King Kai said that they beat his record of getting through snake way. It seems that the humans grow at an exponential rate when they trained together, whereas the saiyans grow much more through zenkai boosts. If the humans can come to learn this, maybe they can spend more time training with the sayians and Piccolo, and be more on par with them instead of being sidelined as usual. Just a thought though. This is a very interesting fic.

Zenkai boosts have diminishing returns, and the reason they grew more from Kami's training than Goku did is because they were training as a group and that's always been more effective. They were dozens of times stronger going down snakeway than goku was

One of the reason why Goku isn't as strong as Krilling or Gohan after their potential unlocks could be because Kami is not as good with that technique as Guru. Another thing is that I feel like Goku would probably try to go in the room of spirit and time so that he'd be able to defeat the saiyans in their great ape form, but maybe you're saving the room for the next part because there's a chance that frieza could show up on earth.

Krillin being at 75 thousand+during the freiza fight makes more sense than him being 13,000 + a couple thousand from overtime. He did do unusually good against freiza second form despite being so overwhelmed and though he did eventually lose, that was already way past something someone of a power level of even 75000 should be capable of. Not to mention the insane boosts gohan was getting at that same points.(although together with zenkais)

I don’t understand your argument. You’re saying he should be 75,000 instead around 23,000 because he did well against someone with a power level of over 1 million. Regardless of which number you pick he’s still below 100,000 making him more than 10xs weaker than frieza regardless with that big of a difference it doesn’t matter which one he was the results would be the same. As for gohan his rage boost are the reason he was doing well against frieza and those power ups vary to say the least and can’t be pin pointed.

I’m always late to these videos, but I always try to argue that Goku wouldn’t be upset to have his potential unleashed I think he’d more thrilled because the potential only works based off your own potential so it’s still Goku’s own power like is Krillin gets the Ultimate Form and Goku gets the Ultimate Form Krillin’s potential is nowhere near as high as Goku’s so even if they had the same base power level Goku is getting a bigger boost because he has more potential even with Ultimate Gohan vs Ultimate Goku, Gohan wins because he has more potential then Goku plain and simple u just need something to draw that out, even the Majin Mark form Babidi is stated to draw out some of the users potential which means that the only way to unlock your own potential as seen in the show is through Magic cuz the only people we’ve seen that draw out people’s potential are Guru, Shenron, Babidi, and Elder Kai who fused with a witch, which is what gave him that ability so it’s all a magic skill

Now to be fair, 30k isn't bad at all when you consider the gains he could have gotten in gravity training. But this is great story so far and it's refreshingly new. I've seen a few times where Guru unlocked potentials but this is first time I'm seeing one for Kami.

I would say the V-Jump numbers do make sense because 1) Krillin was able to cut off 2nd form Frieza's tail, and 2) one of the panels you displayed, shows that Frieza had the ability lower his ki even while in his first form. That said, I don't disagree w/ your numbers otherwise.
