The fact of the matter is Lebron would always carry the team if he decided to stay and they would never get good draft picks. The biggest question is why could Cavs not get him any help? It blows my mind somebody needs to explain why they could not get him any help. I can guarantee you had Lebron stayed he would have started to decline and his passion and drive would all but be gone. By going to Miami if kept his spirit alive and the will to want to play and win. He gained a best friend in Wade which obviously he was missing given he was young and needed someone to relate too. Him going to Miami saved his career and legacy.

This is really well made but I'm struck by 2 things. The level of competence you're attributing to the Cavs to make all the right moves and the doubt you're showing Riles in his ability to make the impossible happen in Miami (see: Lebron, Whiteside, Shaq). Cavs can only make the right decision on no brainers (See: Lebron and Kyrie) but management, culture, strategy, etc are not their thing.
