1) What is life like in the UAR? Are they moderately wealthy? 2) How limited are civil liberties? Gaddafi's era especially won't be all sunshine and rainbows imo 3) What exactly happened in the SInai War? 4) Is the UAR secular?

Gaddafis wost aspects only came in the later era of his reign after isolation and economic downturn. Before then he was mostly an improvement to Libya. Likely in this scenario the country may run quite well, but it’s kinda impossible to say

Maybe they would try to incorporate Palestine or even Lebanon into the union... In this scenario, the pan-Arab crisis of the 1970s would not have occurred (which occurred due to Sadat's recognition of Israel and his disagreements with Gaddafi). Perhaps the pan-Arab movement would gradually lose strength, but it would still have some influence in the region. The UAR would probably be a developed country today (due to Gaddafi's infrastructure projects), but the UAR would be quite corrupt and somewhat unstable due to separatism and tribalism (although at some point the government would have to make some concessions to some groups), and jihadism would probably have less power in the region. Anyway, good video!

I think that after a while Iraq, Lebanon, Sudan and Jordan will join the UAR. If that would happen I think the UAR would seek to extend its influence to Kuwait, Tunisia, Algeria and maybe even Iran.

Sudan was an observer of the Gaddafi-led Federation attempt at one point. Tunisia was also a part of this. Iraq and Jordan created a United Arab Kingdom for a half of a year, so in this scenario maybe that lasts. I doubt Lebanon would join until the early 2000s, perhaps in response to the 2006 Israel war.

Ok, what? The Golan was part of Syria until 67' and the six-day war happened because Egypt blockaded Israel, but mainly because Syria diverged the Golan water sources. But the map shows it was owned by Israel before 67'... Not to mention the WB and Gaza were part of Jordan and Egypt...

When I asked if there would be an Islamist uprising after price of bread rose in 1977, I meant to add that I heard that in real life, Sadat prevented such an uprising due to pro-American economic changes.

Good video, but I have a few nitpicks. 1. “Gaza and West Bank” Why not just say Palestine? 2. Egypt already controlled the Gaza Strip between the Israeli War of Independence and the Six Day War. 3. Wouldn’t there have a been an Islamist uprising after the price of bread went up in 1977?

What happened in 1977 was in sadat's era due to the country switching from socialism to capitalism. If nasser and gaddafi ruled, that wouldn't happen.
