Wrong. Concept of nuclear weapon existed way before it was created, and its use only ended up making japanese give up faster. Yet, it might affect Cold War though.

@@WhatIFinsights_ Germany has already been defeated at that point(9th of May 1945) and USSR has been pushing Japanese out already, same with USA. Japanese would simply surrender a bit later

@@JanordDos Exactly. And Germany was working on a nuclear bomb as well. After they were defeated, most of their scientists were recruited by USA. They helped in US space program, and they would have helped with the nuclear bomb if Oppenheimer didn't exist. USA would still have it first, but maybe a decade later. With progressing research into nuclear energy, weaponizing it and creating a nuclear bomb was ineviteble.

The japanese already wanted to surrender before the atomic bombs were dropped. The were very scared of russia attacking. The only thing the atomic bombs did was creat the outcome after the war, which in history's case, was the cold war

How does not dropping the A bomb relate to taking care of the planet, pollution and climate change? If anything nuclear power has helped the planet from not releasing all kinds of chemicals in the atmosphere. The chances of a meltdown are severely low otherwise we wouldnt still be using it to power our cities, ships etc.
