Until ROTS was released, the common understanding was that she DID survive, at least for a few years, as all we had to go on was Leia's brief conversation with Luke on Endor in ROTJ, which implied that Padme lived long enough for Leia to remember her being "beautiful, but sad."

Agreed, in the novels before the Disney buyout, Luke was summoned to the Imperial Palace/Jedi Temple after the Rebellion liberated Coruscant. New Republic researchers were looking at Palpy's dungeon and found an open Carbonite slab that used to have Padme in it. So it's likely that she was still alive but was captured by Palpy and Vader wasn't told about it. Luke was tracing her journey after she escaped from the Imperial Palace especially since Palpy was still around in a new clone body from the Dark Empire comics series. Padme's trail was lost around the Crystal star novel.

That wouldn't work since she was fourteen and he was nine. But it could work at the beginning of episode two, when Anakin is a grown man. Maybe Padme falls for Anakin after he saves her life. I think the biggest difference would be that Anakin probably leaves the order. If Padme is pursuing Anakin as much as he was pursuing her, they'd be much closer, and probably more reckless in their actions. Anakin leaves the order when Ahsoka does, he becomes a republic general directly, still using a saber because who's gonna take it, and when Anakin has his dreams of Padme dying, they flee to Naboo and go into hiding, which stops Palpatine from turning Anakin. Order 66 still happens, but without Anakin, Mace Windu is probably at the temple, and even without him the temple probably holds out. The jedi might be able to evacuate before Palpatine orders an orbital bombardment of the temple, but most Jedi out in the galaxy would still die. Obi Wan, Mace, Yoda, Shak Ti, Syn Drellyk, and maybe Anakin confront Palpatine, Palpatine dies, and Anakin is allowed back in the order, taking the rank of master and getting the rules changed to allow positive attachments

My guess is that instead of splitting up the twins, Obi-Wan and Yoda would all Padme with her children in some location outside the territory of the Empire, meaning the Unknown Regions. Padme would probably want to stay and join the rebellion but she was too recognizable a public figure and would eventually agree to Yoda and Obi-Wan’s plan for the safety of the twins. I do wonder if she would allow them to train the twins since she may hold some level of fear the path of the Jedi will ruin the kids like it did with their father. Eventually I think she would though as they may be the only ones who can redeem Anakin and thus will need the strength to confront the Emperor. I can see years later Padme confronting Anakin, pained at the sight of what he has become and I think her presence would make it easier for him to return to the light. This time he would take her offer to run away from her and leave the Empire behind. But eventually the entire Skywalker family would return to put an end to Palpatine.

Killing Palpatine at this point would've been a geopolitical disaster. The Republic was dead but it's been only days, the Empire was just declared but not yet established, the CIS' droid armies were shut down and its government gone but there were still pockets of the CIS around, Palpatine had no heir and the Jedi were decimated but not gone. Mas Amedda was 2nd after Palpatine so technically an emperor but he wouldn't be able to hold power. So I imagine that the people around Bail would try to establish a republic again.

My theory about Force heal is that it has some insane limitation which is why it wasn't used or taught to the modern Jedi. Perhaps it sucks some of the user's life force or it kills the user if not used correctly. Or perhaps the user has to be fully in the light and its use must be according to the will of the force meaning that if the injured person is supposed to die or if the healer wants to save the injured one for even a partially selfish reason, it wouldn't work. Or perhaps it was judged to be too similar to the Sith's way of using the Force rather that go with its will. Overall there was some problem with the technique which is why that it wasn't used anymore.

The Jedi order in the period of Padme/Anakin, simply don't teach the techniques of the old republic anymore. Yoda would have been aware of it. Palpatine, is aware of advanced healing/resurrection abilities that can be learned, when he responds to Anakin - Can I learn this power? Not from a Jedi. He's tempting him with the Plagueis story; however the techniques are there. He uses it to unnaturally extend his own existence after all. Like any advanced force discipline, you need an innate ability to begin. Those who were extremely skilled became force healers in the EU. Able to heal beyond basic injury. To damaged organs, broken bones and mortal wounds. There is elements of that in Rey's dyad but apparently she also learnt from Luke's acquired texts. Large sums of techniques are not taught in the final Republic days. There are numerous reasons. The weakening of the Jedi, being gradually lost to their old ways. The shroud of the darkside weaking it further. The primary issue however is the paranoia and fear of the Grandmaster. Yoda. Notice how he is the only one to use Tutaminis against Palpatine. It's another extremely powerful ability that would have saved numerous people from the Emperor. But nope. Yoda explained where he went wrong. Much of the fault lies with him. Without proper training force healing is exhausting. So you can imagine that for people who are relatively compensatory in force strength early on (Obi-wan) making up for it with hard work, he hardly had the juice +the heavy emotions, to work on Qui-Gon. Same story with Anakin. Force healers, aren't something you simply pull out of thin air. They were once abundant, because Jedi and their quality of training was. That was lost. It's a discipline, like mastery of a saber form, or lightning. The potential is always there - but it's rigorous and requires work. Did Yoda fail to trust anyone after the incident with Dooku and others? Perhaps that would add to his reluctance.

Padmé would have been a problem for the Empire. The Imperials wouldn't have lasted as long as they did in Canon because people like Padmé, Mon, and Bail would still exists, but there would be the problem that assassins would have still played a active role.

In this novelization Aniken is alot like me. Except my treasonous murder crimes took place 230 years ago back in 1794 during the French Revolution when I went by the name of Jean Boulanger. Since I've reincarnated several times since then alit of the depression I grew up with and live with was rooted in this past lifetime when I lost the love of my life when evil military freemans who helped overthrow the French upper class originally killed her and tricked me into joining their cause ( "the French darkside of the force") Then they covered up the murder and lied to me convincing me that it was" my fault she died." Which I actually believed then attempted to commit suicide by shooting myself in the head but survived a gunshot wound and had medical help like Aniken did on Mustafer but was left permanently scared and disfigured after that and became a corrupted military General and bought into the political lies that they told me claiming that the "younglings" and other innocent citizens of the republic protesting the new government were a threat to the war efforts thus had to be wiped out and killed to stop their rebellious ways and I remember specbombing one school house in a village full of civilians that was like a jedi temple, this of course being one of probably many massacres that took place during that awful time. I have since redeemed myself 140 years and a couple lifetimes later in World War Two when I became an American spy and spied on the Nazis plus help strengthen the alliance against the Nazis when they invaded France but was killed by the Nazis around d the time of D Day in 1944. Like Vader died in Return of the Jedi while saving Luke from the Emperor. After World War 2 is my present lifetime which started about 24 years later, and currently I'm very introverted, and had alot of socal and emotional problems in the form of PTSD as a result or consequence of my past life dramatic events.

I need a franchise in the time Yoda was a padwan. As Yoda trained to stay in the light and become the next grandmaster, a sentinel shadow would be a cool counter part of a young friend who loved combat and looked for confrontation because that was his most polished skill for peace keeping. Also need anime studios. The shorts were great but I'd love a series. And you'd do Lucas justice. He grows stronger with the force as he becomes more focused in battle. 3 of these wouldn't work Galen Marek is much too young to be Dooku's or Anakins apprentice unless you change when he was born. Bo katan and Jango Fett wouldn't work either as Jango is more of a Bounty Hunter than a Mandolorian.
