WimpyKelv12 Brosnan was essentially let go from the role in 2005 he didn’t quit he wanted to come back as read the script for Casino Royale but Barbara Broccoli said she wanting to take Bond in a new approach with rebooting the series and have a new actor. Brosnan was angry and hasn’t worked with Barbara Broccoli since or Eon Productions. He is too old now to play Bond as he is 65 years old and would have been 61 when Spectre was filmed

I completely agree. Sean is on his throne, he's untouchable. But, Brosnan just speaks to me personally. He was the perfect re-energizer of the franchise. He wasn't a knockoff Bourne (which is what Craig is) in my opinion.

Whenever I watch a Daniel Craig bond film... I always forget that I'm watching a James Bond movie. He just doesn't look the part and he will never be James Bond for me. On the flipside whenever I watch a Pierce Brosnan action film, I would always imagine that I am watching a Bond Movie. All that's lacking is for him to say "The names Bond, James Bond."

It won’t happen with being 65 years old now and he was let go basically as Bond in 2005 when Producer Barbara Broccoli told him she wanted to reboot the series with a younger actor and that he wasn’t going to be needed anymore as he was interested in doing Casino Royale as liked the script and darker tone as thought be better story then his previous Bond films as wanted to do another one similar in style to Goldeneye. He was angry with Broccli and hasn’t worked with her or Eon Production produced films since then.

I grew up and became a Bond die-hard fan during the Moore era (started with "the Spy Who Loved Me"), but for me Pierce is the epitome of Fleming's Bond! Suave, cool, cultured, trim and prim, charismatic, a man desired by women and envied by men--Brosnan is all, and then some. Connery comes as a close second and Moore a far third.

Brosnan is now 65 though and Connery was 52 when ended his career as James Bond after Never Says Never Again In 1983. Connery was only 40 years old when filmed Diamonds Are Forever his last Bond film for Eon Productions. Roger Moore was even older in his last appearance at 57 when filmed A View To A Kill for release in 1985.

I was born in the Pierce Brosnan era of James Bond and he's 1 of my favourites to be portrayed as 007. He does amazingly well with all the badass scenes, all 4 of Pierce Brosnans James Bond movies are enjoyable to watch. He was the most bloodiest bond ever, he had more kills than any other 007 actors and I love it. He really did great overall. My favourite 007 has to be 'Goldeneye' without a doubt. To drive a Russian tank at the heart capital at Moscow is fucking awesome :D

Brosnan deserved at least one more film in the role. He revived the franchise with GoldenEye after it had grown stale throughout the 80s under Roger Moore and took a weird turn with Timothy Dalton (don't get me wrong -- they were decent movies but Dalton never felt like Bond). It's too bad the writers/directors absolutely botched World is Not Enough and Die Another Day with an over-emphasis on flashy special effects and gadgets with little substance in terms of storytelling.

Brosnan was a great James Bond and he is an underrated actor. I know that some purists prefer Daniel Craig, who projects a rougher and grittier image, but Brosnan has great charm, dry wit, looks great in clothes and should have been given the opportunity to return in one final Bond film with a first rate script and director, like Sam Mendes.

There are many apparent reasons. Between the old formula and style having been made to look dated due to the new direction that spy movies started taking, Brosnan's age, the overwhelming badness of Brosnan's last Bond movie or how Brosnan spoke badly about the producers and claimed he was unhappy with how he got to play bond, it's hard to pick the BIGGEST reason.

Ok wow, this would make it 100% better, sorry Craig fans. Brosnan definitely didn't get enough films, if Tamahori hadn't messed up so badly with Die Another Day, and they hadn't rebooted the franchise(I don't see why you need a new actor just because it's a reboot anyway), Brosnan could have definitely pulled of another 4/5 films all the way up to sometime between 2010-2012. But still, if Moore could do a Bond film at 58, Brosnan would still be more than capable right now of being Bond, especially only being a few years older than that and in a lot better physical form than Moore.

That was amazing how you put Pierce in the video because in the original spectre trailer its featured daniel craig. It feels like Pierce is actually there, and Daniel didnt even shoot the movie at all!:)

my opinion, pierce as James Bond was fantastic. pierce was so absorbed in his role. i think he's the most convincing James Bond so far.
