This is a superb rendition of this song, I can't emphasise that enough, especially not when I come offering some small criticisms. Before I get dogpiled, I was sat again that this song as it is right now in it's current state is actually excellent, and there is nothing wrong with the way it is, and before anyone says "well let's hear YOUR COVER OF IT!!1!" I can only play guitar, not bass and drums, while editing video and using audio production software. The criticisms I have are borne solely of personal preference and from the perspective of somebody who was just in the 16-19 age window in the heyday of early 2000s pop punk. So here goes. It's very very very very slightly too slow. Like 1/8th or even 1/12th of a beat. I listened to it at 1.25x and it sounded ridiculous, but the stock recording could stand to be a teeny tiny bit more pacey and that would make a big difference. The bridge, and the build up to the drop before chorus 3, feels like it's missing... something. I can't tell what, but there's just a little something missing on that build, maybe a delay-echo high guitar singing your whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh's as you enter the bridge. Again, not a big thing, but would add en element to the bridge that would really fill it out. Lastly, your drums are excellent. The dynamism in the transitions, the "rumblethump" buildups, the timing, all tight and clean and fantastic, but on the drop into the third chorus from the bridge, that would sound so much better if you didn't have the bass following them. Isolate those drums on the "dum-dadum-dadum-dudumdumdumdum", and come in unaccompanied alongside a basic snare roll, music kicking back in with a crash on the word "eyes", bring it on as a huge "fireworks display" chorus to finish. Again, these are just my personal observations based on my personal tastes, and I don't mean to denigrate the work you've done at all, because because it truly is excellent as it is, and wouldn't be out of place at all on a punk goes pop compilation in it's current state. Hell if this was the original song and the Bastille version never existed, it would stand perfectly well on its own. Nicely done dude.
