Watching Qui-Gon sit Kreia down reminds me that, while Windu and Yoda might've been the strongest Jedi, Jinn was undoubtedly the wisest.

I like this discussion as neither really comes to a consensus on the absolute truth of the force, only that their views are at a contrast and that both are incorrect. I personally always agreed with Kriea's view on the force though , although I don't fully believe all of her points or teachings. Most of the battles and every great conflict in the galaxy ever since the schism of the old jeedai has been at least partially influenced by the force and it has caused more deaths in the galaxy than anything else: More than abeloth, more than the Empire, both the sith emprie and the galatic empire and more than every plaugue and hyperspace monster all combined. And the worst part about it is that its so omnipresent by the time of the galatic republic that noobody can even think about living without it; a godlike being that has killed them mercilessly and will continue to murder innocents far into the future.

If you look at it more thoroughly, you will find that most of those conflicts started because their actors ignored or defied the will of the force. The sith and other followers of the darkside have always sought to increase their own power by perverting the force itself, stealing it's powers through intense emotions. The jedi bound themselves to the senate instead of following the will of the force wich led them to join the clone wars and ultimately caused their downfall. All in all, blamming these conflicts on the force ignores their true cause wich the Star Wars galaxy share with our world: the flawed nature of men.

ive always wondered how a interaction between kreia and the ones would go. or better yet what would happen to the ones of mortis if kreia had suceeded in her plan to destroy the force itself

I feel like Kreia is missing her own hypocrisy. She claims that she wants to destroy the Force because it robs people of free will and ultimately makes people's decisions for them by setting them on a predetermined destiny. But she would ultimately be exactly the same. If she destroyed the Force, she would be cutting everyone off from it, whether they liked it or not. She would be making the decision for them that life without the Force is the preferable state, even if the people she's making that decision for disagree.

"In the game of gods, creation itself is the board." ~Metron, JLA Volume 2, Grant Morrison The majority of the galaxy is not Force-sensitive, and the two most prominent Force-sensitive beliefs (Jedi and Sith) are at constant war with each other, often resulting in great casualties for those who are not Force-sensitive. Even those who do not usually use the Force for war, such as the Witches of Dathomir, still use it as a tool of authority, having built a matriarchy relying on it. Given that, would the people who are not Force-sensitive even care one way or another if asked? Would they actually prefer for everyone to be on equal footing, no more Sith alchemy or Dathomiri witchcraft, no more lightsaber wielding maniacs?

In some ways she admits her own hypocrisy in how she's come to rely on the force despite hating it. Then again most force users are pretty hypocritical in their beliefs regardless of where they stand. Though I suppose that's the nature of belief in a sense, there is no perfect, flawless stance to be taken on something like the force. But her initial goal of killing the force has potentially far worse consequences than simply depriving people of the choice to be connected to it. ALL LIFE, is touched by the force and will die without it. Sentients, animals, plants, rocks, dirt, air, water, entire planets, the stars moons and suns all interwoven with the force. If Kreia succeeded, she may well have killed ALL life everywhere.

@@jagnestormskull3178 um thered stil be war the mandorlians are a culture that thrive on it . everyone in the galaxy has their own advantages. Another thing the force makes up the universe crying about fairness would be dead

In fairness, her goal was simply to show that she was right in believe it was possible to live outside the control of the force, which she was was in the case of the exile.

Was Kreia's intent to commit omnicide, or free the galaxy from the chains of destiny (with a lot of collateral damage, but many survivors)? The latter was always my understanding.
@reubzdubz
@reubzdubz Жыл бұрын
Actually... That is a good point, I always did think of it as omnicide since the Force is interconnected to all living things though.

@@reubzdubz IIRC, she claims that billions will die (including herself), but there will be survivors, and those survivors will be able to rebuild the galaxy. As for the Force being connected to all living things, it's a matter of the Cosmic Force (the aspect of the Force that controls destiny) vs the Living Force (the aspect of the Force connected to all life). As I understand it, Kreia wasn't trying to "kill the Force" so much as deafen the galaxy to the whispers of the Cosmic Force.

@reubzdubz
@reubzdubz Жыл бұрын
So how'd you interpret her philosophy then?
@Satsaru
@Satsaru Жыл бұрын
@@reubzdubz Some of the dialogue you have here seems to suggest you think Kreia's intent was to kill everything by destroying the force in a "if we can not be free, we would be better off not existing" sort of way. The entire point of her love for the exile is that they prove that it _is_ possible to live without the force and that her plan _won't_ kill everything. Your interpretation, if I'm reading it right, seems to lean too far into Nietzsche-like nihilism in the same way that others often portray Kreia as some kind of Randian super-individualist and entirely miss the altruism fundamental to her philosophy. To get in to my interpretation of her philosophy, at its core, is that she wants everyone to be powerful. That's where the altruism lies, but the power she wishes for people to gain is a self-derived power, a triumph of their own will and capabilities against their situation. A goal she feels is impossible if the Force is a sentient ever-present force that moves the wills of others according to its whims. Hence, at the end of the game, Kreia is happy with whatever the exile chooses to do with their life, because every action is _truly_ their own and they can bear out Kreia's wish for people to develop true inner strength of their own that is not dependent on space magic.
