What if Raven raised Yang and Ruby pt 1 (RWBY what if)

Why do I think Raven left? Well...fear. And I'm not talking about fear of Salem, that's normal, but wouldn't be enough. I mean fear of the unknown. She was raised by bandits, taught how to be one, and expected to lead them. She was sent to Beacon specifically to learn how to fight Huntsmen. Everything so far is something she expected. Even if the challenge was great, she could handle it. Then she started getting roped into Ozpin's secret war. Okay, magic is real, the Grimm have a queen, crazy but reasonable, I can fight this. Then she fell in love with Tai, and had Yang. This...was something she never knew how to handle. Being a loving mother, a caring wife, it's completely antithetical to what she grew up as. If she stayed...everything would be an unknown. She you can't simply punch your husband and daughter to solve those problems. So, she did the only thing she could do...she ran, because she doesn't know WHAT to do.

I agree with everything you’re saying and that makes so much sense too. It’s also a major reason why it was hard to even find a reason for her to even come back to them dispite her fear of the unknown to even do it but I think what I went with would be enough for her to at least attempt to face it even if she didn’t know what to expect from it. Thank you for your deep dive into why you think raven left in the first place.

I can see Blake possibly not getting the wake up call in Vol 2, or at least not as quickly. It was Yangs story about searching for Raven that knocked her loose. Speaking of, I can imagine she would DEFINITELY not approve of Ozpin bumping Ruby up to Beacon. As for the rest...I can imagine a lot would remain up until Vol 3.

@@colvamoon6962 I was thinking the same thing, since raven is at the house with them Yang doesn’t have that moment to help Blake relax a little, personally I’m trying to figure out if she would even go to the dance at all of if someone else would be able to give her that speach? Also a little bit of a spoiler for this what if but since that moment won’t happen I’m not gonna go with a bumblebee ship for this, I believe that was a huge moment for them getting together and if it doesn’t happen then I don’t really see it happening but that’s my personal opinion

@theeeveekingdom7137 oh, itCOULD happen, but the story would need to be different. Perhaps have it focus on Raven's obsession with her tribe, and how it tore apart team STRQ. Sure, it would be a challenge, but I could see it working.

@@colvamoon6962 well i would but In the story i was more going along the lines of raven slowly enjoying her new role and it becomes harder for her to go back to the tribe but i can go through that to see if i like it better

@@theeeveekingdom7137 oh, that's what I mean. The whole obsession with the Tribe would be pre-Summer dying/missing, and how Summer's death was the only thing to knock Raven out of it.

I would recommend scripting. It's a wonderful tool. Speaking on the fly while keeping things straight is a pain in the rear.

That is true and I do try going over what I’ll say before recording but when I start everything I gone over just flys out the window

Yeah i definitely could do that one but id definitely see that being like a one shot of like 2 or so parts do to a lot not even happening different for some of the characters

@@theeeveekingdom7137 I would really like to see that. It could be something like Summer asking Raven to take care of her daughter Ruby and Raven thinking about the best way to keep Ruby safe decides to take her to the tribe.

@@theeeveekingdom7137 It could be during that event where Yang takes Ruby to look for Raven, he could take advantage of the situation to take Ruby since he would be disguised with a cape and mask so that she would not be identified and he could make it seem that Ruby fled into the forest during the attack, possibly dying at the hands of the Grimm or make it seem that he was one of Salem's subordinates.

@@theeeveekingdom7137 or she could kidnap Ruby while everyone is sleeping so that no one sees her and after taking Ruby to the Raven tribe she would manage to convince Ruby that it is better to keep her

Ruby was 15 and Yang was 17 and Raven ran cause she was afraid, specifically of Salem, she didn't think Ozpin could win so she ran away to her tribe to survive and look how that shit turned out. That isn't a theory look it up hell she killed the Spring Maiden too cause she (Spring) was also afraid and didn't want her Powera Edit powers

@@rivaldovillegas3725 thank you for the information and for correcting the ages, I’m still gonna keep them the same however do to knowing that time has passed between volumes 1-3 do to it being fall in vol 3 so it reasonable to say their birthdays past during that time but I’ll keep that in mind for future reference. @@theeeveekingdom7137 Okay, what I was thinking of is that Ozpin or somebody or just Ruby, no not Ruby, Summer went to a laboratory looking for something or just checking it out. You can just add that. But she doesn't find anything but a child. But this isn't a human child or even a Grimm child or whatever. No, this child is the Blacklight Virus. And let's say in this universe, Ruby's father and Summer never got together and had a child. And so, Summer, wanting a child, takes in the Blacklight Virus as her child. And then, having been raised by Summer, Blacklight Virus shifts its form to look like Summer. And then when Summer dies, feeling lost, Ruby or the Blacklight Virus goes off and becomes a vigilante, killing Grimm and bad guys, becoming stronger and stronger. And then one day, Ruby is in the same place as the Blacklight Virus. Uh, shit. Alright, yeah. Goes into the same dust store as she does in the canon universe. And the same things happen, only instead of having her sight, she uses her Blacklight Virus powers to kill or take down the people. And then having ozpin being interested in her powers would take her in. And you didn't ask me about parts to help me make it better

@ hmmmm I like the idea but I could also see it happening at other points but I like how your idea is to have Ruby light (that’s what I would call her in it) takes the form of Ruby do to being raised by summer, that would be a fun idea to work with and I’ll probably add some things to it to make it fit with the universe but i do have a question, with Ruby being the black light virus do you think she could ether beat or absorb Salem?
