Rock Lee had so much crazy potential. Remember he was put in the hospital while Naruto and Sasuke trained to the point of the Retrieval Mission? He managed to catch up and surpass the two in base, managing to do decent against Kimimaro while he was still recovering. He managed to catch up while being stuck in critical condition. Imagine how strong he could have gotten if he had never been crippled by Gaara. It was very clear how he and the other konoha 12 had to be held back in Shippuden to not make Naruto's training over the 2 years look bad. But yeah, I'm a big Lee fan lol

Bro not even that. Like yeah sure he’d be a bit stronger but he shoulda got way stronger over the time skip/Shippuden. He was perfectly fine in OG Naruto and actually written well. Tbh though Narutos training did like nothing for him but Sasuke became a gigachad. Rock Lee should have scaled way better along with Neji.

Rock Lee was my first favorite character in the series until Itachi eclipse him. However, I always rated Lee in the top 10 of my favorite Naruto characters above both Naruto and Sauske simply because of his backstory and mainly because he was during the first half of the series the closest one to being human since he could not use black magic / ninjutsu and always strive on hard work to get him through life.
