"Why did he glow like that?" It's a feature added to Ultimate, while during a match, if the fighter in the lead idles long enough, a glow goes off. It's meant to let players know they should target that fighter. But since the action keeps going, especially in Tournaments (since you are not allowed to stall) most have forgotten about it. It appears Enderman is in the lead of the battle during recording.

Not totally true. How it works is that occasionally the player in the lead in time battles will flash. That’s all.

I appreciated your concept and dedication to make it as unique and close to the game as possible, but I definitely think Sakurai’s take was a lot better. Like you said similar concept but with different steps. I am in the camp that he should start off with weaker weapons first and needs to mine )in this case the stage itself) and craft (using a crafting box, that is automatically given to you at the start of the match and can spawn whenever you want using Shield Special) in order to get stronger ones, instead of starting off with only punches and needing to break blocks in order to get them. And since the weapons can break after some hits the incentive to mine and craft is still there. It keeps the unique aspect of mining and crafting your moveset while feeling less tedious and time consuming.

It's so crazy how this came about, and it's hard to say if your version or this version is more complex. Your implementation was quite convoluted in all the tiers of acquirement to reach full moveset potential for the player, but was understandably fairly self contained within the character's own internal logic as you'd expect when coming up with a character's features. And then Sakurai's design managed to make the order of operations much simpler on the player while still sticking to the same concept, but the level of developer end chicanery necessary to make it all function was way more demanding, going through every existing stage and assigning contextual properties to them to interact with the character's mechanics. And then also going out of his way to set one extra state for competitive players' sake on top of that. Plus it had a greater variety of block type representation than one could ever have expected. ...It's also stiff competition of who's more of a lovable dork. "Magma. Lava. Magma. Lava."

What if Impostor (from Among Us) was in Smash? For his jab attack, he could just punch forward. For tilt attacks, he could swing his hands around. Since the hands are not attached to arms, they can move around freely. His smash attacks could be various references to tasks in Among Us, such as the wires from the Fix Wiring task in Electrical or the card from Swipe Card in Admin. For his neutral special, he could rapidly stab a knife forward, referencing one of the kill animations from Among Us. For his side special, he could fire the pistol from one of the death animations. For his up special, he could stab his tongue out. If he is on the ground, it goes forward. If in the air, if stabs downward, pushing the Imposter upward. It can be used for recovery, but it is mostly an attack. His down special could be to grab the opponent, twist their back, and drop them on the ground, referencing another death animation. For his final smash, he calls an emergency meeting and the opponent gets ejected into space with text reading "Mario (or whoever the opponent is) was not The Imposter" If anyone has a taunt idea, I would love to know.

SAKURAI JUST GAVE US A WAY TO CHECK THE HEIGHT OF EVERY CHARACTER. A minecraft block is 1m tall, Steve can place down blocks. Mario is 5'1" (1.55m) tall, 1 1/2 minecraft blocks, which checks out visually in the presentation. WE CAN CHECK HOW HIGH EACH CHARACTER IS. + Steve is confirmed by Notch to be 1.8m tall (the average adult caucasian male height), meaning we have a direct point of reference as to how we would see each character in real life. THIS IS HUGE, to physics calculations at least. BTW, elytra is pronounced EH-LIE-TRAH

My greatest apologies, because when I watched your video on Steve in Smash, I got a little irritated that you thought it'd be so complicated.
