Scar: (Chuckles) Kovu: You’re no king, Scar. You never were. Scar: (Scoffs) I’m a better king than you could ever be, filthy weakling. A real lion loves battle. I give them a chance to die for a cause. Kovu: And what have all your battles been for, Scar? What could be worth the lives of so many lions and lionesses? Scar: Destroying Mufasa’s family, of course. Kovu: I won’t let that happen. The Outsiders have joined us. They won’t follow you again. Scar: I don’t need them. I only have to defeat you. Then, I can pick off everyone still loyal to Mufasa and Simba, one by one, season after season, until there’s no. One. Left. Kovu: I won’t let you harm anyone else in my pride. Not ever! Scar: Then, you’re going to have to kill me. Kovu: Has it all been worth it, Scar? All the hate? All the death? Scar: Every. Moment. (Throws ashes at Kovu’s face, claws it, and leaves him dangling off a cliff, like he did to Mufasa and Simba years ago) The moment Zira found you and said you looked like me, I became nothing! I’ve been waiting all along to have my revenge! (Kovu pulls himself up and attacks Scar, his eyes widened in shock at the revelation that the very lion that chose him as a successor was as hatefully jealous of him as he was of his brother and nephew.) Scar: When you’re gone, I can choose to rule those living in the Pride Lands! (Strikes Kovu down) Kiara: No! Please! Scar: (Chuckles) Or, kill them. Kovu: (Stands up) I will not die. Not until the Pride Lands are safe from you! (Lunges at Scar and keeps fighting him, until at last, he is standing over the weakened older lion) You chose to live like a rogue, Scar! Now you can die like a rogue! (Delivers the killing blow to the evil lion, finishing him off and ending his reign of terror once and for all)
