Hi! The dev is here! Thank you Tyler for playing my game. You played really well! The game already has much more difficult levels and 2 more characters. It was the Level 1 (Ascension 1) in the video. I see in the comments people are talking about Bookworm Adventures. Just for reference, I've never played Bookworm Adventures or Letter Quest. I'm not even a native speaker, and my English is not great. The game was actually inspired by Dicey Dungeons and Slay the Spire only. Dicey Dungeons had such a great concept, but I wanted to add more consistency, strategical planning and non-trivial synergies to it. So mechanically during battles Words Can Kill is Dicey Dungeons with letter tiles instead of dice.
@bastian_59752 жыл бұрын
I never would've noticed the similarity to dicey dungeon without that comparison... Of course it also doesn't have the same card system (I'm guessing because that system doesn't really work with letters...), And there isn't really an analog to the heat/thirst thing here in dicey dungeons...

I just wanted to point out something cause I found it funny: Tyler said "In no other game can you beat people with a hobo", and that's not true... There's a flash game series called Hobo with about 8-10 games, I forgot exactly how many, where you have to beat up baddies with a hobo and you gain crazy move combos as you progress. Not only that, the sequences retain all moves from previous games, which means you can still do the crazy combos you got from Hobo 1 in Hobo 5 for example.

Piny is a variant spelling of Piney, which means "of, like, or full of pines" (the pines in question, of course, being pine trees). For example, "This forest is piny" means that the forest has a lot of pine trees.

Hey man, keep an eye out for a game called Desktop Dungeons, it's a classic that was one of the games that got me into roguelikes in the first place. You're pretty good at these kinds of games though, dont think the game will be simple forever when you first pick it up, the farther you get the harder it gets and starts requiring very good understanding of mechanics. There's a 3d version coming out soon as well, demo dropped the other day.
