To me, the biggest failing of What If is they mostly just used the premise of the show as a an excuse to just slap random characters together instead of doing cool spins of a story we know from the MCU. The mech avengers could be cool, the setup just didn’t make sense and it’s like “wow look it’s Monica rambeau and Sam Wilson” or “look it’s Shang chi and Kate bishop”. Everyone uses the example of the other half blipped, and yes. But also, why don’t we get something as simple as “what if Tony died instead of becoming iron man”? That would have such cool ramifications for the entire universe, but they never even go close to that level of depth. It’s just action figures thrown together at a certain point and disappointing.

They honestly should just do a quick changing of how things are formatted with both the in review rankings and the ragu bagu rankings, it’s too much to try and keep track of when the later of these includes non MCU movie bad guys. I’d say just changing it so that they only have MCU bad guys and then making both lists just be tier lists would make how it’s organised less of an issue. Then you’d not have things like love and thunder above Iron Man as presumably iron man would be on a better tier ranking than love and thunder and would make adjusting the lists easier.

For the TV show changes I only really care about it being covered for the following shows: creature commandos, daredevil, invincible, peacemaker season 2, the last of us, and the boys (also Gen V which I’d say just counts under this umbrella). I also think the way rankings are done should change too and especially think that removing the non MCU bad guys from ragubagu for MCU in review is necessary for that list to make sense, I get it’s been fun having them in the mix in the past but I don’t think that’s the case anymore. Plus making the ranking for the movies be a tier list so that each entry is basically comparing against everything within that tier and not getting stuck with being ranked lower than something that the majority of you disagree with in the not too distant future from when you’ve just watched them.

I think once the shows through lines appear in the movies, the shows then get included, so Wandavision and Loki have both now connected to movies directly and can be in the main ranking, but things like She hulk or moon knight stay out of the main ranking until they connect to the main movie line

36:56 - Depending on when they filmed this. Quantumania was February 6, 2023, so almost 2 years ago. 2024 was the slow year for MCU, with mainly just Deadpool and Wolverine. 😊

The best thing I can say about this season is that it made me go back and appreciate a lot more about seasons 1 and 2. The only episodes I enjoyed this year were Agatha in Hollywood and Howard/Darcy. Usually I don’t vibe great with this show’s sense of humor, but those two episodes were just the right kind of goofy mixed with sincere. Seth Green, Kat Dennings, Kumail Nanjiani and Kathryn Hahn also just did some really great voice work. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the season just didn’t do it for me. The premiere and the finale especially were pretty lame.

Some Roles That might interest the rest of the Gang. He was the Voice of Leon from Pokemon Journeys, and each day he came to record he was bugging the director to use the 1st opening for the final battle of Ash Vs Leon. For Dragon Ball fans he got to Voice Shallot in Dragon Ball Legends, Mobile Game I know, but that was a dream come true for him to voice a Dragon Ball Character. He is in three Hoyoverse games as Cyno - Genshin Impact, Jing Yuan - Honkai Star Rail, and Anton Zenless Zone Zero. I know Greg touched Octopath Traveler 2 idk if he got to this character yet but he voiced Osvald.

If you do you should watch with low expectations as they really don’t do much with what is a cool concept. Even the marvel zombies episode is pretty poor, lacking the humour that defined those comics. And then there’s the recent Howard the Duck episode that is just some typically weird adventure that could have just been in a Howard the duck comic so it makes no sense that it’s even here.

I kind of feel like the rankings as they stand are the physical representation of how much time I've invested into the idea that this silly ranking matters somehow. Blowing up the list feels like an excuse for people like me to pop off like its a series finale and everything after this is the spinoff. Y'all should still keep these OG rankings in play the same way you can play OG Fortnite. It doesn't have to be the main list but it shouldn't just be deaded forever.

i gotta be real, the changes you announced for MCU in Review is one of the most disappointing changes you guys have made. :( I totally get not doing weekly podcasts for each episode but taking the series out of MCU in Review really really sucks. it's "MCU in Review" not "MCU Movies in Review" lol. It already got really weird by adding Daredevil 2003 and Elektra into the list when they're not MCU. but stuff like Loki and Agatha not being ranked is kind of crazy, especially when they were some of the best post-Endgame content and making that change before what is basically season 4 of Daredevil is craaazy. that's one of the rare shows where I was hoping for a season premiere screencast, mid-season check-in, and then MCU in Review at the end. because it's such a big deal. (to be clear, the re-ranking is an awesome idea and should have happened a while ago. but cutting out the TV shows as if they're not actually MCU sucks. and i really dont think you should muddle the MCU ranking list by adding in a bunch of non-MCU stuff. like, we all know that most of the X-Men and Spider-Man movies will be at the bottom of the list anyway)

Now that we're done with a lil kid show: What If.. 🥱, it's time for a REAL show for adults: Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur 😎 Real talk, What if..? was a disappointing series altogether that was close to having something strong. Always had some standout episodes but overall it fell flat. Being serious too, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is some of the best animated stuff in years, and hits so hard not only cause it nails superhero stuff, but because its approachable to all with great themes, depth, and development that would(and should) make MCU jealous.
