Just to clarify. The sun won't expand because it ran out of hydrogen. Only the core will run out of hydrogen and start fusing helium which is a very energetic fusion. The outer layers of the sun will still be hydrogen and will expand because of the extremely high temperatures in the core. In that process, the sun will loose a lot of its hydrogen layers because of the quick expansion.

Transformation of a star takes millions of years. The sun wouldn't just turn into a red giant in one day. By that time if we are not already dead because of other reasons we would have colonised mars and planets beyond out solar system. We tend to forget that this event is much further away from us than the time it took us to reach from pebbles to H-bombs. Never underestimate human ingenuity.

Anton, I've seen your previous video. In Universe Sandbox 2, there's a section in materials that shows you the Earth Similarity and Life Likelihood for planets. Usually, the normal life probability is 0.990 minimum to 1.000 maximum. Maybe this can help with making videos on habitable planets? no offense btw.

I have a few questions to ask you: One,how long will the sun ☀️ continue to contract until it becomes a white dwarf? Our sun looks quite similar to Betelgeuse in this scenario?I watched a video about everything that happens to the sun as it becomes a red giant. Oh,and what will happen to the other planets in our solar system? Will they too eventually succumb to the suns red giant phase? Oh And another video,I watched called Planets from hell and the name of the planet is called Wasp-12b,and the other planet called Osiris which is practically too close to its parent star. Perhaps long before that tragic event with our sun occurs,perhaps all humanity will long have colonized an habitable exoplanet. Great video!!! Great simulation too. Why won’t our sun go Supernova?

At those temps, the planets might even have comet like tails. Also being 56C I don't think Pluto would have enough gravity to hold onto an atmosphere that would keep an ocean intact. Pluto would be more like a comet as well.

All the gas on the gas giant planets would probably evaporate into earth sized planets and the gas from them all would eventually reach Pluto and beyond to become gas giant planets way far away.

This is not Universe Sandbox 2 .He uses Space Engine for this video and he modified the sun to be a red giant instead of a yellow dwarf using either the shift +f2 tool to modify objects or he changed the parameters using a custom addon.
