I went to techxo yesterday lateish in the raid after doing some quests, and i counted 9 bodies in the surrounding area. Shit's wild.

Interesting idea, but it seems like dynamic loot would be easier for the devs to implement and would be able to be done on all of the maps.

Though, some places are meant to have certain stuff in it, for example, medical storage will... contain drugs and other medical items, or security room will have guns, some computers and etc.

@@Quazzi Dynamic loot system was mentioned in the first comment. The way that system would work has been on the table for a long while now. Nobody sensible has ever suggested a complete randomization.

I wish there was a map that was entirely procedurally generated with ofc the map fitting the theme of wherever it is in tarkov, like an urban setting or whatever. I think it would be so much more of an immersive experience slowly making your way through the map. This probably wouldn’t work due to how extracts work and how difficult it would be to find them unfortunately.

I would prefer it to be where the loot moves rather than the store locations, but make it completely random so you actually have to check the whole map for loot

Randomised loot is simply too unrealistic. Maybe a better option could be unique types of scavs that actually take high value items from their spawns at some points in the raid so you would have to hunt them down in case they took that loot.

I saw one on reddit where you had to do things to unlock stores. Like turn on power, find keys, or use terminals to open doors. With this idea you could randomize what stores are locked so you'll have to do tasks to open the store you want.

Or, for example, lock high loot stores for the first X minutes (X could be a constant number like 10min or a variable number between 5 and 15 minutes). Then there would be an announcement of some sort of lockdown system failure and stores would open up. Players would fight for stores before they even open and there is no way a hatchling or pistoling will be able to get to any of the high loot areas without dying. They would either fail to hold it or not be sble to get there since geared players will be holding it.

@@sujimayne Someone else had a great idea involving a series of tasks that can be randomised such as a multi-lock system, power being turned on, alarms being disabled etc and all of them need to be activated in randomised locations (of course these locations would look like the appropriate places such as a generator room or security office).

Callouts. Randomly generating certain stores locations would be a nightmare for squad play, regarding the callouts and comms. Now, randomly generate the loot, Yes. That's a good idea.

I feel like that wouldn't work. The reason techlight has the tech stuff is because it's a tech store. If it was in a restaurant or something, it wouldn't make sense. I also don't feel like it would be a nightmare for squad play because nothing would change besides the location of certain stores. So you could still make accurate callouts. It's not like they're changing the names of the stores or anything.

Not true. I hardly ever rush spawns and i have 60million rubles. Once you have a fully kitted farm the game is basically over.

There is no good solution to this regarding just altering the spawns. The only thing that can be done is by using scavs. Either have scavs that loot or scav ambushes to punish the people that rush the valuables.

Even without procedural map generation just the idea that some maps had like 3-4 variant layouts would spice things up immensely. Like a dorms variant that changes whats behind the different locked doors, changing the layout of the resort on shoreline, etc... but that way you wouldn't know which variant you had until you got inside.

I think your idea is a really nice balance between keeping it the way it is and the other potential solution I've heard tossed around, which is to completely randomize loot. It solves the problems you talked about, but still encourages people to think like a scavenger - even more so, in fact. Instead of mechanically running to a single location, or just looting every room in the hopes of finding what you want, you'd keep your eyes out for certain stores that you think might contain the loot you want. You'd still be able to rely somewhat on being able to get computer parts in big offices and tech stores, valuables from jewelry stores, food and drink from fast food places, etc.

What tarkov needs is dynamic container spawns. For example on dorms EVERY room has spawns for jackets, filing cabinets, duffle bags, etc making worthwhile to go through every room possible to get the most loot out as possible. You could even have god rooms with jackets, cabinets, duffle bags and even PCs or something all in one room which would make for possibly really enjoyable looting! This could be used on every map at pretty much every major location.

Why not just have a gate system like an actual mall? Create 4 more tech stores and move the current ones to other places. While there are 8 tech stores, only 4 will be open at the start of a raid. When power is turned on, randomly one gate will then accept a key, creating a reason to roam around the map. This will give players with gear a chance to get loot without hatchlings eating it and sending it to their pocket dimension.

It's beautiful, I made the sacrifice of my thicc items case to acquire more GPU's to get up to max and it pays itself off in 12 days (from where I was at). Meanwhile I keep grinding and working on acquiring the moonshines and other stuff to trade therapist for a replacement thicc items case.

@@SpooningTreesap86 buy ultra med key - you can get all the LEDX you need for a thicc case in like 15 raids. its like a 90% chance to find at least one and like a 30% to find 2 or 3. just have to get there first. moonshines is more expensive i think , too.

about the "techlite and keeba being right besides eachother" this can be compensated by introducing limiters to the map generator. There are express code pieces in unity for this exact purpose, making sure two objects/rooms/instances do not spawn next to or close to one another. Interchange is perfect for a more RNG based map, especially if those limiters are introduced (and maybe also different sizes of each shop, if the devs wanted to do that) Maybe BSG could have the system run on a weekly or daily basis, where each week/day a new interchange map would generate for all players to share. This creates a sense of structure while also making the RNG factor feel more fair in its execution.

It's a really good idea. Having one single spot for a certain item that will have you stacked will not only occupy the game at that location but also ruin it as fewer people will look for firefights or similar. This is one of the better solutions I've heard anyone talking about. Most keep talking about dynamic loot spawns, and everyone is holding their breathe waiting on that. Which obviously is much harder to pull off than BSG thought or it would've been done by now. This solution is relatively simple, which is usually the best

I usually run with my friends (3-5 man squad) with very good comms and callouts and we usually dominate and clear out the whole interchange before we loot kiba. This change will literally make Interchange a nightmare for team play.

Yeah this is why I haven't been playing much this wipe, it's just rats wearing a diaper / dickhead and hatchlings actually fighting over the loot; and early wipe chads now just live off their bitcoin farm. So any engagement you get in either you end up with shit to vendor off of a chad and no actual loot, or a rats tags / meds he pulled out of his gamma to boof all the tetrizes. And having 1k+ hours on reserve it's a very predictable map for loot, and the flow of the map follows a very predictable rotation, to the point where you can start the game and just roll to the marked rooms and you'll engage half the map. Move toward k buildings / black knight and you'll end up engaging the rest of the map in one of those 2 locations.

Any map in any game will have a predictable rotation with 1000 hours on said map. Randomized loot would be better for the health of the game, no doubt. But you still find loads of people just roaming the maps outside of loot hotspots. If said "early wipe" chads live off their bitcoin farm - just go roam around and stay longer than 10 minutes in the map...if money is no problem why play a gameplay style that is designed to maximise money per hour? Theres still plenty of money to be made outside of loot hotspots that the rats loot, just take shitty gear so you can have a fair fight with them and don't curbstomp them. If you want less formularic PvP than the usually hotspot showdown, it's there, you just need to adapt yourself into taking the game less seriously.

I like this idea a lot, one of the problems I realized was the team play aspect call-outs would become much harder for newer players that haven't played each map which is both a good and bad thing.

When I see clips of people fight, I think “wow, I never fight people there” and it just looks so refreshing when people aren’t fighting at the same 2-3 spots on each map. The game really needs to be slowed down, it’s no fun feeling you need to rush high tier loot, just to fight someone before the raid slows down massively. Would be so dope if we had dynamic loot and you would see and hear fights taking place in uncommon spots. Plus, it puts ACTUAL players on the same playing field as hatchlings (farming bots, not players).

You can make the map randomly/procedurally generated and still ensure that techlight and Kiba aren’t generated side by side. It’s not easy to implement, but it is possible.

I would love to see this! Generally I need more maps in Tarkov. There are enough guns for me personally but i cant really run them on any suiting map. Factory is just SMG chads or Shotgun rats; Reserve is either getting dome sniped or killed by some 800k kit guy; Shoreline is just Resort madness; Woods is getting sniped out of nowhere or sniping others out of nowhere; Customs is either no fights or constant fights; and Interchange is pistolings or thermal kit ppl. (just from my experience though) I need something more balanced, more spread out. Or maybe I am just bad lol

i think a random interchange would be good if done right. what could make it more challenging is that with the change of these rooms being random they could make more killa spawns to make the rooms more scary to push or walk into because you could have an angry Russian man spray you down with an RPK.

It's def not a bad idea at all. I totally agree that the one map that currently is fairly balanced is Reserve. You have more good locations spread out over the map. Not everyone is rushing that 1 place. People still rush RB-AK and Marked rooms etc. But all of the players are not at the same one. There is a heap of loot in Interchange but I guess it could be re-evaluated or even like you suggest. But at the core most of the maps have this very same problem. Customs has Dorms, Shoreline has Resort, Woods has Sawmill and the sniper rock. The Addition on woods certainly balanced out the map and I feel like the rest of the maps really need the same treatment.

I made a small multiplayer game, quite like a top down view Counter Strike, BUT the map is randomly generated after each round, making it way more fun, cuz all of the new opportunities each time, trying to find the most exploitable spot on the map for your current gear against your opponents. damn making that map generation was hard af, but it was the best decision I could've made with that game.

Killa's younger brother (Boris) should patrol and defend Techlight from runners with a raider-like weapon. When one of them get's killed (Killa or his bro) the other goes in berserk mode and starts killing everybody on sight (and maybe rushes to the other's body for mourning). This could protect the techlight-texho from runners, adds some spice to the game by having a miniboss with mechanics, adds some extra raider loot (but not as op as Killa's stuff). You can make plays by killing one of the brothers to lure the other, or make them clear their path for you (kill Killa at Kiba, Boris comes down from techligh and kill players / scavs on the way down, you can sneak up on the other way around to Techlight etc.) Implementing a new miniboss (even without mechanic) is easier than making the map procedural (and can solve the runners-problem)

They should lock tech stores behind a key or a door that takes a certain amount of time to unlock, like you have to hack the code on a panel or something cool. Maybe make them like the KIBA glass to prevent pistol runners.

They need to open up loot spawns on the map to spread out the mall more most gun fights do happen around tech light, ras, kiba, and Tex. However if more stores had loot and possible chances for high tier loot (locked doors, new spawns, etc( it would space out the map a ton more. On top of that they need to bring back the cursed and marked for hatchlings to a more extreme cause you can still run a hatchet and get all the gear which is ridiculous.

Randomize the loot in stores, keep the layout the same, but randomize the locations of the stores. Aka tech light becomes Avocado for a day, and then Jacob and Jacob the next.

I think changing loots spawns rather than building locations would be better for the sake of map knowledge/comms if you're in a squad, but I do agree that the current state of interchange (and other maps like shoreline and customs, but to a lesser degree) is pretty stale. I think the best way to do it is to give all the areas on a map different chance for high tier loot (think the giving tree on customs). E.g. on shoreline, it makes sense that resort has the best loot, given that it's the biggest and most dynamic part of the map and it's central location, but there should still be a (smaller) chance to get high tier loot in other places on the map, so that the entire map actually gets played by everyone.

What if, instead of procedurally generating the rooms, they procedurally generated barricades or collapsed floors in some of the hallways? All the loot is still there, but the fastest way to get to it might be impassible. I think that may fix the issue the map is having, while having some more interesting effects on the gameplay and firefights. Imagine the chaos that could ensue if you get in a fight and get jumped from the side because someone found a hole in the roof that you didn't know was there that round. Imagine how interesting it would be to be trying to flank around knowing that your usual flanking route for that area might be blocked off by a bunch of rubble. That seems more appropriate for this setting. The people would likely be familiar with the building since they are either civilians who lived in the area or professional soldiers who were sent there on a mission. What they wouldn't be familiar with is what has changed since the city was cut off. Someone might have blocked off a hallway trying to defend their camp. A fire might have collapsed a section of the roof or walls before it went out.

I thing a more general solution to fix loot hotspots would be to make a far greater pool of loot spawns, sure there will be a GPU or ledX on the map, but you gotta go find it. Sometime its in techlight, but no guarantees it is in THAT spot- but it is somewhere...

Jeah... My ideal fps would be a series of tactical matches procedurally generated, with slow movements, 1 or 2 sprints only allowed, 1 or 2 bullets to die, better aim when standing on or next to walls and definitely no shooting while moving.

Even if its not "Randomly Procedurally Generated" just having some servers with 4 different versions of the map could help. make it predictable enough that you have to get inside and figure out which configuration it is but not mixed up to the point that quest items get moved.

It would be cool if all maps had procedually generated elements to them, i.e. tech-stores & kiba having 2 possible locations each and the randomization will then create 2^(no. of stores) layouts to play on. Not only could it change loot spots, it could also change the firefighting dynamics of some areas, and make it harder for squads to even out the playing field a bit for solo players.

While I think randomised areas in interchange are a great IDEA... :D I personally think that General Sam's solution to FIR would mitigate how most maps are currently played. if you can loot X item and surive in raid for X amount of time then said item is still FIR even if you die.

Drewski I completely agree, however I don't think this will happen purely due to where the game is planned to go. If the goal of battlestate is to link all the maps into one big map interchange being dynamic would need to revert back to static and I feel as though that would cause a huge uproar in the community. Just my two cents

They could simply rework the quests to put quest objectives in a fixed store location regardless of what store spawns there each time you play the map. In real life mall stores are numbers sequentially next to each other so the quest could simply say "Store #67" and "Store 67" is always the same physical spot in the mall, just a different store (brutal, kiba, etc) spawns there. And put information maps in the malls that have all store locations numbered but not named so it doesn't matter what store spawns in that location, the quest objective is always in the same spot.

Forget the loot add actual mission structure to the raids so that you are always there to do something in addition to looting. Maybe even have scav wars for territory or even scav runs that have an actual objective.

I want to see my stash all on a weapon wall and places to put whole loadouts that you can easily buy again for the lowest price on the flea market. Also I want to have bullet reload animation where you can still look around while you do it. Inviting your group to your hideout would be a cool way look at each others loadouts while looking for a raid.

I have a better idea how in Tarkov you raid into a map you should already see scavs in certain locations "protecting" the loot as in the kiba that killa protects, and players would have to kill the AI ​​to have access to the high level loot and so the dynamics of the raid is completely different, and it would end up with half of the hachlings running to certain places encouraging players to actually play the game.

Frankly, this should be applied to the whole game, anywhere it can. Resort, Customs Dorms, Reserve's buildings, Interchange, could all be done this way. It would take work, sure, but given the rate of new guns and gear vs the rate of new features and bugfixes, I'd argue they have some designers to throw at it.

I agree, I said the same thing about Rainbow Six. Procedural Generation would keep games like these fresh for a lot longer. Also, having random dead scavs spawned around the map would add another dynamic to the game. They could have the possibility of having something as rare as graphics cards on them.

I'd say it's nice to have a fixed map, because map knowledge should be rewarded. I think Tarkov is such a great game because the only way you can be really good at it is by having very intimate knowledge of all maps and all game mechanics. They should preserve that, and I think randomizing maps will detract from it. I do think there need to be changes though. I think the real issue is that it is too easy to rush in, grab loot, and rush out. That's because loot is too easily accessible, and players can stash it away in their container, and not worry about surviving. It doesn't promote gameplay where players meet in fights and move around the map a lot, it just promotes rushing in and then sneaking out in a very linear fashion. Part of a solution could be that you can only have items in your container that you brought into the raid yourself, and you can't stash anything you found in raid, so that you have to extract with items, which make the stakes a lot higher. Next to that, I think there needs to be more of a process around accessing loot, so that players will have to spend time in the map and move around more to complete small tasks that lead them to good loot. Switching the power on in Interchange is a small example of that, but you can think of much more interesting options: For example, have something like capture points, where players have to defend an area/object for x amount of time to secure it. Other players are alerted of this and know there's good loot to be had, so they will come rushing in to capture it from you. Or you could create loot spots where you have to trade in 1-2 dogtags that you found in the current raid before you can access the loot, so that it is promoted to roam around the map and hunt players before you get to access loot. Tarkov is a great game with great potential, but it does need some adjustments to promote playstyles that are about complex tactical engagements.

I think its a reasonably good idea but that you seriously underestimate how long building, balancing, testing and implementing a generation system takes. can it be done with some existing assets? sure but making everything fit together neatly every time no matter the generation is going to take time.

One Graphics card and tetris in your inventory would be a hell of a lot simpler fix then a dynamic map. Map knowledge should be rewarded, something needs to be done about the value of the loot itself not the map. If BSG even considered changing the map changing the locations of the tech stores away from each other would serve to spread out the Hot zones on the map if that was what they wanted to do.

great idea but i wouldn't want random where techlight is i would want to move tech light and texo to the mid so killa guards them then its defendable against hatcht runners and contest people for it causing more time for others to get their and more gun fights. I would also add another high tier loot room like a back room of tech light and make it a key that's super expensive.

I have to disagree with the point that Reserve is not methodical and predictable. I have been maining it for a few wipes and IMHO I can predict where most people are going to go/be and when I hear a fight and can usually catch the rotation out. Great video though!

I think the point of looting in a game like this is playing as a PMC you are going to be planning things before doing them. You’d be getting the layout of a large complex and going after specific loot so the precise loot runs and pre-calculation fits the game perfectly. Yes it focuses fights in specific areas but is that actually a bad thing?

This was a very thought out and very great suggestion. I totally agree that interchange should be procedurally generated. It may take some time for that to happen but in the end it will add a lot more play time for some players that may get bored of the tedium

I got kappa a couple of weeks ago so I took a break for like a week and then I started farming killa for the tracksuit. I've made 60 million since I started going interchange to farm killa only from like 10 minute runs maximum. I am now sitting at 120 million gaining a minimum of 5 million roubles everytime I play, just from interchange

Procedurally generated but instead for every raid it’s every 24 h or something, and u add a map layout and cameras or intel on the intel terminal in the hideout. So basically before u go on an interchange raid u can have a look at where u are going and study the map, or u can just go in blind.
