One thing about this that doesn't work, Anakin killing members of the 501st. If it was any other Clone Legion, maybe, but Anakin wasn't fully mind controlled or even fully brainwashed until AFTER he killed the Separatist Leaders, meaning the Clones of the 501st could've talked him down.

Yep, both Failnon and Legends anakin would NOT indiscriminatly kill his entire division. Especiel in Legends the 501st was his backbone in deathsquadron. The most important tasks where taken by them (althou back then it was more of an "it an order so we follow" not a stupid "this thing in my brain DICTATES that i do that" for them clones). More likely he would surrender as frelling rex would talk, then PUNCH sense into him again. Remember, anakin only fell because NO ONE supported him or talked to him other than palps during Knightfall.

Rex was a fantastic example of how to build a character. Despite LITERALLY being a clone character, they took their time, differentiated him from others exactly his equal, and showcased his loyalty, resolve and strength of character through many crossroads. What a master class in how to write characters.

Cody, fives, Foxx, were also well done (I hated Foxx, which is good, as his character was meant to be disagreeable. So, he was well written.) Clone wars was, if not *THE* best, one of the best pieces of media produced in the SWU. (Kotor is definitely its competition. I'd also include the force unleashed among its competition, but not quite to that level.)

I believe another version of this story is possible. A version where the venator of Rex and Ashoka is used as an escape ship for the Jedi. With Maul still captured inside as it is not mentioned here, plus Anakin also captured by the 501st into the venator. Palpatine would ask to every clones legions to come back only to stop that ship, to rescue Anakin and kill Maul with all the jedi. Starting from that I think we can have a great story, every stakes of the galaxy depending if the venator manages to escape Coruscant or not, including an intervention of Yoda and Obi Wan, plus Padme’s crucial stake

Video #29 of the campaign: I wonder what you could cook up with this idea - "What if Anakin died in the Battle of Coruscant ?". I was personally interested in seeing what would happen if Anakin crashed into a munitions crate or something, dying in the cockpit of his crashed fighter. How would that affect Obi-Wan and Sidious's plans ? Maybe Dooku could finally convince Obi-Wan to join him, or something else. Perhaps with Dooku arrested, the Jedi order would believe him and stop Palpatine, either killing him or arresting him. For the Jedi, the prophecy of the Chosen One would turn out to have been wrong, but in reality, Anakin not living to join Sidious would've probably been a better fate for the galaxy. Alternatively, Sidious could perhaps still salvage the situation, making his empire stronger. I think it could be another 2 part episode.

An interesting idea, but the main problem is that the inhibitor chips in the Clones were implanted at a early stages the chips could grow properly. Palpatine would had to have put one in when Anakin was a newborn. But a interesting idea for sure. Maybe more mind control or mind drugs?

Infact AOTC clearly states that clones were made to follow orders without question and were stripped of individual thought. In the Expanded Universe, the standard clone trooper that was bred were not free thinking, and were less individual than a normal human being. They were essentially brainwashed to follow the Republic at all costs, without questioning any orders whatsoever. Higher clone troopers like Arc Troopers and Commandos (clones that were bred) had less tampering and had more individual and free thought. Infact most of the clones that disobeyed Order 66 were Arc Troopers and Commandos. While the standard grunts were bred to follow the orders down to brim. Not to mention that there were other contingency orders besides Order 66 that the clones memorized and learned. Like many things in TCW and Disney Star Wars garbage.. The chip is a plothole and bad writing 101, first of all it makes the clones into literal mental handicaps after its triggered. And apparently it can get triggered from a tumor, injury to the head or just accidentally saying "66." You forget that the Temple was already in lockdown, and all Jedi had been armed. The only reason the temple was breached is because Anakin knew the access codes. Delaying Anakin's arrival to the temple door would have been an ASTOUNDING plot device. you've broken the most important rule of star Wars fan fiction. Anakin's death didn't seem targeted as in some stories (and I don't mean just yours, plenty of YT what if-ers), your lead up, the bodies of the slaughtered children, and knowing how talented he is, Rex and company, especially after the losses they took already, shouldn't take the chance. It felt like a natural progression. I tend to object to deaths of so and so, when it feels targeted, like well someone had to die, instead of a story plot point or progression. I felt with this one, I still got a happy ending, which I'm always grateful for. Thank you for this story and I really do hope you get well soon.

I have wondered about this myself. Clones were supposed to be human. Even though they were "programmed" they were still sentient with free will the droids didn't have. I never believed that once the clones got old enough to name each other that they didn't ask questions. Given they knew the importance of their mission and fought better with a will but why didn't they decorate or personalize anything? People do disagree and stuff...

What if Dooku betrayed palpatine and excecuted order 66 during the battle of Coruscant? Here is how I could think it would go: As we know, Dooku, while loyal to palpatine and agreeing with him about taking down the corrupt republic and destroying the Jedi, he as a Sith still some hopes of overthrowing master and trained a few people as his apprentice, from Ventress to Vos to one day take down his master. At the end of Clone Wars season 6, episode 4 “orders” Palpatine say that when the time comes, no one could stop his plan to execute order 66. He says execute order 66 here. What if Dooku, seeing an opportunity, recorded this conversation and saved it, realizing he could execute the order in the clones himself and wait for the right moment to take down his master, the republic and Jedi in one fell swoop. The perfect timing arrives during the climax of the war, during the battle of Coruscant. Before dropping out of HyperSpace, Dooku hacks the clone comms and displays the recoding of Sidious, causing the clones to execute Order 66. This is going to cause Chaos around the galaxy, and Coruscant is going to be in even worse chaos as the clones go marching on the Jedi temple and attack any Jedi fighters that maybe in orbit. This will catch Sidious off guard, which Dooku along with Grevious will use as the opportunity to try and kill him. So we have two scenarios One where he succeeds. If he does, And he kills Sidious, can he win the battle of Coruscant and force the Republic to surrender, ending the war in a CIS victory. Or The second option, he fails and Sidious kills them for their betrayal, but now he is in a mess. The clones have attacked and killed a bunch of Jedi.Even if he can shut down the order, his plans are in tatters. The senate will be in uproar of what has happened, even his greatest supporters, and the Jedi will be even more suspicious of Palpatine and the clones.with Tup, they weee suspicious but let it go, but now all the clones have done the same and killed a majority of the Jedi order in the process….yeah I doubt that will fly.
