I don't know, seems like a bit of a stretch. The rest of Tamriel would probably see how great Dwemer technology is, and start using it. Even if this were not the case, one must remember that while the Dwemer were very technologically advanced, other races (mostly Bretons, and High elves) wielded extremely powerful spells. That paired with usage of the voice and possible divine intervention from the gods (which Dwemer society mostly disregarded), leaves the other races with a fair chance of standing off against the Dwemer. Even in Tamrielic history a similar thing happened. The Ayelid enslaved man and were generally more technologically, and magically advanced, yet even they were almost completely wiped out.
@ThePresidentofMars4 жыл бұрын

Hm, I don't think the Dwemer would conquer all. As we've seen, they often have falling outs (like with aetherium) or the Chimer-pact, and likely because they don't strike me as conquest-like. They're not Thalmor, nor Nords or even Imperials who all seem to have a taste for conquest and empires: Dwemer seem more interested in the science of everything and uninterested in conquest (perhaps only in defense of their lands - and their turning of the Falmer seems more like an opportunistic thing to me: here you suddenly have a large group of mer without home that no one will miss... and a fungi with odd effects). Then we have the issue of their opponents: the Nords with their Thu'um could literally shout their automatons apart and I don't know what trumps what: tonal architecture or dragon shouts. The Bosmer's entire wood would have to be burned down I guess, if you want your machines to make it there... but then again, arrows against brass spiders seem like a poor match. The Chimer would still have the backing of three Daedric Princes and I reckon they'd do pretty well once Azura & Co realise *what* powers the Numidium. Then there's the final part: hunger and population. As far as I know, Dwemer weren't super populous. Even with automatons in place to govern their subjects, it's still be the 10% governing the 90%, and I think rebellions would start popping up... places where there are more automatons than dwemer would see them sabotaged, food storages contaminated, Dwemer assassinated... Finally, as some have already mentioned: the Gods seem to favour a balance. They sent Pelinal against the Ayleids who were stronger, both magically and technologically, yet they were decimated.

Honestly, I think a scenario where the Dwemer lose to the Chimer at Red Mountain but don't zero-sum themselves out of existence would've been more interesting than the Dwemer succeeding there and literally never losing a battle ever again. Even if Dumac's group is pushed out of Resdayn, that hardly equals the elimination of the whole Dwemer race. The Chimer won't be in any position to do anything about the Dwemer in Blackreach or Volenfell, after all. I'm also not sure that the migrating Yokudans would be so foolish as to keep throwing themselves at successive failed invasions. They may not be able to reach an accommodation with the Dwemer of Volenfell, who obviously broke with Dumac over his initial willingness to live alongside the Chimer, but I think they might very easily strike a deal with the Breton kingdoms or even the Bosmer where they get some settlements to call their own in exchange for a defensive pact against the Dwemer, Orsimer, or even the Alessian Order. Finally, I'm not so sure that the War of the Crag would have worked out so cleanly in favor of the Dwemer. They may well have put down the Falmer revolt, but I'm not sure they could simply go back to the way things were without ensuring generations of recurring conflict. Either they have to loosen the Falmers' shackles at least a little, or they'll quickly find that they're spending more time putting down rebellions than can be justified by the amount of work they're getting out of their chattel. It's partially a question of how "regressed" the Falmer are at this point, but I've always assumed they were still fully sapient until after the disappearance of the Dwemer. Assuming that's the case, I imagine their slavery would slowly transform into a sort of caste system, as both the cost of rebellion builds up and Dwemer automation technology renders much of their former work as slaves unnecessary. Over the millenia, I suspect they'd become a significant underclass in Blackreach, and possibly end up migrating to other Dwemer-held regions, as well. They'd still be blind, and physiologically similar to the Falmer of the Fourth Era, but without the feral nature. I think they might find kinship with the Orsimer, a similarly embattled underclass not that far from their own home. I'd like to imagine Falmer refugees ultimately escaping from Blackreach and bringing all the mechanical and engineering expertise they learned under the Dwemer yoke to Orsinium, helping defend it from attack by the Bretons and Yokudans/Redguard. Over time, this Orc/Falmer confederacy might even overtake much of High Rock, either driving out the Bretons entirely, or reducing them to scattered coastal holdings.

In defense of the incoming of the Raga'da, back then there would be many more sword singers and Ansai among the warriors (which may have caused the destruction of Yakuda). Obviously the dwarves would be well established, but the Redguards would still give them a run for their money with their Ansai. By this point, all the ragada would be steadfast veterans from their war against the left hand elves. At this point in history, I think the Yokudans are single handedly, the best warriors in Tamriel. Yep, if we take into consideration the Ansei, the Hoonding, which is pretty much a god all about removing obstacles and the Yokudans immense hatred of elves, I just cant see the Redguards retreating that easily. Personally, I believe that if the Redguards were not able to conqueror Hammerfell they would just nuke the Dwemer with some crazy Shehai technique instead of accepting defeat with that "if we cant have this land nobody can" mindset due to there hatred for elves. I doubt the Nords would submit that easily to the Dwemer to, since they have the Thu'um and a hatred of elves to. Eh... can't really agree there. Yes, the mystery is a big part of the Dwemer appeal, but in my opinion a mystery never solved in a fantasy setting like this is just a carrot perpetually dangled in front of our faces: it is initially exciting, but eventually stops being enticing. Now, im not saying there should be a side quest in a future game that solves the ENTIRE mystery in one fell swoop just to make some fans happy. Rather, a gradual unraveling of what truly happened to the dwarves over the course of the series is preferable.

Actually there’s one thing you guys forgot to take into account. Mehruunes Dagon. As the overthrower of corrupt governments we can almost guarantee he would have gotten involved with the government that blinds and enslaves other races. And with his help the other races likely would have allied in an attempt to put an end to what would have been the greatest threat in Tamriel at the time. So perhaps an even more deadly battle would ensue underground, with countless Dwemer and other races being slaughtered. I can imagine they’d also rescue many Falmer who wouldn’t have become goblin-like creatures but instead be blind but civilized. Then for many centuries a massive war would ensue between the nations, more than likely the Dwarves would be successful however, luckily for the other races they’ll never have to know.

Yo Fudgemuppet! I’ve been binge watching your TES playlist over the lockdown recently to reacquaint myself with the lore. It’s convinced me to return to Skyrim after 6 years. I spent 4 days hunting, downloading, and installing mods I once used + those since my absence. My first playthrough is as a Nord warrior that has returned to Skyrim after a decade serving as a sellsword. He is destined to become the Dragonborn. Yet despite killing a dragon and unlocking the Thuum he doubts he is what some believe, choosing to continue his mercenary ways. So far he has aided many in Whiterun to build a reputation and has now joined the legendary Companions to establish himself as a renowned warrior. After that he will travel each of the Holds with his eventual ally and friend, Inigo, making coin and sparking the beginning of his legend! Inevitably he will realise the threat of the Dragons continues to grow, as does his own power, and chooses to finally answer the Greybeards’ summons. He will train, expanding his knowledge and power, and thus understand and accept his destiny as the Dovahkiin. Destiny is all! The Dragonborn will go on to aid the Empire in ending the Stormcloak Rebellion, knowing from his travels and sellsword life that the Empire is the only chance Tamriel has to defeat the venomous Thalmor. After the war he will be recruited to aid the Dawnguard in stopping an ancient Clan of Vampires that wish to destroy the sun and conquer all mortals. His many accomplishments and expansive reputation/legend lead to him retiring from his position as the Dragonborn in favour of building a manor in Falkreath to settle down in. Years pass but a new challenger emerges, sending cultists to assassinate the DB in his home. The great Hero of Skyrim gathers his gear and sets out to find his new foe and undertake one final adventure. The Hero discovers the truth behind his new foe, and thus the Last Dragonborn will battle the First... Sorry, got carried away 😂😂

I'm not sure if you are still making them, but your "Best Black Book Powers" video kinda inspired the idea of a Champion of Herma-Mora build, like the Pactmaker or Dagon's Disciple. Name: The Seeker Race(Imperius): Breton (Stones of Galen/Shared Ancestry & Magical Bonuses) Nord/Dark Elf (Skaal/Old Way connection to Hermaeus Mora, Dark Elves have a similar connection thanks to DLC and have nice starting bonuses) Standing Stone (Andromeda): Mage Stone and/or Apprentice/Atronach late game with the Aetherial Crown. Maybe go both Apprentice and Atronach? Faith (Wintersun): Hermaeus Mora (duh) With 15% boosted self-beneficial spells and Eldritch Tomes that grant a variety of effects. Stats: 80%/20% Magicka/Health spread until you reach around 500-600 Magicka, at which point go pretty much all health, since the spells you use shouldn't cost too much Magicka thanks to reductions. Backstory: Born to a family of rather well-off citizens, your father was a merchant within the imperial city, and your mother ran an Inn, inside of which you often helped out. As you weren't the most social of people, books were your friends, and you prioritized the pursuit of basic knowledge. At one point, you saw a Wizard within the inn, coming from the College of Whispers. His magic intrigued you, but the secrecy of the College and Synod was infuriating. As such, you only self-taught yourself a few basic spells. However, that's when the dreams began. Dark masses of tentacles and eyes often appeared to you, showing images of Black Tomes and even a multi-colored one. Another image popped up, a large College within a city about to collapse. A feeling drew you towards the North, and after saying goodbye to your father and mother, you headed towards Skyrim, only to be caught on the border...however the voice appeared again, telling you to beware of "Black Wings in the Cold". This was Alduin, who accidentally liberated you. Factions: Immediately after leaving Helgen, setup the character with some novice spells and join the College of Winterhold, completing that questline. Your pursuit of knowledge may lead you to the Dark Brotherhood or maybe even the Volkihar Clan. Quests: Discerning the Transmundane, Main Quest, Dragonborn DLC, Dawnguard DLC, Undeath Lich Mod (optional), Blood on the Ice/Other quests for Magical Trinkets, Dragon Priest Quests, All Black Book Quests, College of Winterhold, the list goes on Spells/Shouts: As a general mage, you'll be taking Spells from a variety of different schools. However, there is a slight twist. In order to get the most out of your large Magicka pool, you'll be using primarily Adept level spells, for AoE damage. The exceptions are Alteration and Conjuration. Spells include Fireball, Ice Storm, Chain Lightning, Conjure Seeker, Conjure Dremora Lord, Flesh Spells, Paralyze, etc. Shouts include Bend Will, Storm Call, Summon Dragon, etc. Perks: Leave it up to you Fudgemuppet, though the skills for Leveling are Destruction, Alteration, Conjuration, Enchanting, and Alchemy. Playstyle: At the start of battle, Ocato's recital (stack up Ebonyflesh, Conjure Seeker, and a Cloak Spell) should activate, and then immediately use potions to boost Magic skills and regen. The sling spells while gradually getting closer, and if Magicka runs out, switch to Keening (poison it too) to dish out damage will draining stats. If things get tough, back off and summon minions while also using healing spells. Use shouts when necessary. Powers: Any of the Black Book Powers you prefer, such as Mora's Boon. Devour from Within, Vaporize, and Ultimate Power are given by the Atronach, Apprentice, and Mage stones respectively. Gear: Aetherial Crown or Konahrik/Miraak (Headpiece) Miraak's Robes (Armor), Gloves with Fortify Magicka/One Handed, Boots with any two of the Resist Fire/Frost/Shock enchantments, Ring with Fortify Alteration and Destruction, and an Amulet with Fortify Destruction, Alteration, and Conjuration thanks to the Miracle perk.

At some point a Pelinal White-Strike would come around and along with him a Alessian like Rebellion. On top of that a bigger Civil War could start like the Aetherium Wars. On paper the Dwemer seem like they would be able to dominate everyone but so did the Imperials. Except the Imperials offer(ed) Religious Tolerance so many rebellions would arise. It would probably fade like the Ottoman Empire decaying slowly for hundreds of years until they are split up Into small pieces and fade away. The dwemer are also not an aggressive race bent on conquest. Endless peace brings prosperity and time for tremendous growth. Oh the if's.... Thanks for the video guys! *BTW could you do a video on* Ice Mage vs. Fire mage vs. Storm mage Seeing which one has generally best In terms of effects and power. I mean the problem with Red Mountain is that even without the Dwemer going poof they were fighting a battle on two fronts. And by two factions who were nothing to sneeze at. Perhaps the Nords would be pushed back as was with canon, perhaps Nerevar would fall from his wounds but the underlying fact both flanks were being attacked for the Dwemer was what caused Kragrenac to activate the Brass God Numidium to begin with. And Vivec, habitual liar and flowery poet as he was, still admitted that the Thu'um of the Nords during the battle was terrifying in nature and stood against the Animunculi. That is nothing to say of the Chimer who in of themselves were skilled mages and warriors, nevermind the literal divine intervention of the Lady of Dawn and Dusk on behalf of Nerevar. Most tales of Red Mountain still speak of how Nerevar did beat Dumac Dwarfking even if he later died from his wounds or was betrayed by his three closest confidants. The Dwemer of Resdain were unlikely to win the Battle of Red Mountain but it could at least not spell the end of the race as a whole. Volunfell being a prime example as to why even had they lost Red Mountain the race may not vanish entirely. And frankly that outcome would provide a much more intresting scenario than just "Dwemer win gg".
