Scott has gone on record in some magazine article released sometime during the filming of the fnaf movie, stating that Bonnie was always meant to be blue

If I recall correctly, yes he was meant to be blue, but Scott messed up his saturation when creating Bonnie's model for the first game, and he ended up looking purple. So he just accepted that for the first game, and really made sure Toy Bonnie was blue to drive it home how that was his original intention

Purple OG Bonnie for life 😤😤 I love how blue TB is compared to the purple of OG Bonnie and I think that their difference is good. Just like how Foxy -> Mangle changed a lot, a more minor difference like that kinda makes the drastic one feel less out of left field. Also I just like the colors I’ve grown so used to over the almost 10 years I’ve been a fan of the series lol

5:20 erm akshually ☝🤓 that _is_ blue, its just that if you desaturate dark blue, it makes it look more reddish than it really is, because colors are just funky like that ig. Youll see that if you turn up bonnie's saturation hes actually bright blue what i mean is that bonnie likely WAS always intended to be blue (which is why he IS blue in nearly every single other interpretation of him) but scott didnt realize how much more purple making his color more pale would make him look, at least thats what i think

Seeing your movie spring Bonnie and a closer look at him made me realize something. I’m pretty dang sure that og spring Bonnie had eyelashes. Some of the sprite art, plushies and springtraps eyelids all hint at it. But it is funny how it lately it’s less common. these designs are so so good! what a nice surprise! i will note for bonnie, i believe he's been retconned to being 100% blue since all the way back in fnaf 3. everywhere he appears there and in every design going forward he's been very clearly blue. it just looks interesting changing the original bonnie design's color retroactively. (its funny bc his guitar was also changed lol)
