Ok since so many people don’t understand why he took his own life in the mod let me try to explain (since I just beat the game): Mari as we know put a lot of pressure on sunny. So much he would’ve been stressed everyday, and anxious. Kind of like basil. The fight on the stairs would probably still happen, not ending in Mari dieing though. He might’ve still pushed Mari, but she wouldn’t die. The argument would be because he almost broke the violin, meaning it didn’t fall down the stairs. Mari would be so mad after being pushed that it might get slightly physical. This would very obviously affect sunny. They would still do the performance, but as sunny said “I wasn’t ready. I was tired, not good enough,I couldn’t perform.” He would maybe fail at this, only from exauhsted or too much pressure. I don’t think he would off himself imediatley… but if the recital failed then Mari would also fail. She would be mad. She would probably yell at him again. And sunny knowing he ruined everything for Mari (he did not) and almost killed her, wouldn’t manage the guilt. If he did turn into a piniata it would be weeks later because Mari and maybe some others kept reminding him of his failure. Edit: ty for the pin :3 (not being that person lol, I’m glad to help!)

maybe sunny would have felt useless, like he was made to be maris sister (and maris perfect in his eyed) but sunny cant do anything right. Sunny practices and practices, but Sunny always fails under the scrutiny of his sisters watch. It didnt use to be like this, not until Sunnys parents got involved, undermining Sunnys trust in himself and making Mari feel pressured to make Sunny do well in the Recital. When their parents saw Sunny/Mari do a mistake, they would berate them and call them out for being a failure. So, Mari didnt want that and became worried, then annoyed and tried to contain all the feelings of dissapointment and fear when Sunny made a mistake, because Mari used to have harsher punishments as a child when she made a mistake, that would cause her to practice tirelessly through the night, until it hurt. And because Mari contained her anxiety and worry, it turned to anger and she snapped at the day of the recital. The recital was what Sunny & Mari had worked on for years. All those tutoring sessions, all the money their parents spent on the violin, it made Mari enraged in the moment. And she argued to Sunny about it. Sunny was terrified. Sunny had never seen Mari like this except when Strangers would insult Sunny or their close group of friends. Sunny couldnt take it anymore. (similary to Mari) and pushed her down the stairs. Mari survived, but with permanent wheelchair injury. Mari; saw the world flash before her and she realised how much she loved Sunny. But she had to go to the hospital, and when she woke up a week later, it was too late and Sunny had sewerslided. Because Sunny felt like a murderer and a burden.

NOMORI: The retrical is a success, Mari stops being so strict on Sunny's violin practice since the recital isn't stressing her anymore. Basil wouldn't be as nervous and timid, Aubrey wouldn't go full punk mode and Hero would still have his girlfriend. Sunny would learn to have lucid dreams, forming Omori as an avatar of himself and the headspace as a stage for his dreams.

@@Mole-Knight by using HeroMari, Sunflower and whatever Kel/Aubrey is called, we can bind all Faraway friends into a single family unit via marriage. Then years after the recital, if Hero and Mari have children and Kel and Aubrey accidentally create an Hyper active and aggressive bundle of joy, the two offsprings are connected to each other as cousins. Also if Sunny and Basil adopt a gremlin, it would also be a cousin to Mari's and Hero's first born.

Tbh I don’t think the recital would fail (unless he gives up mid-recital) and I especially don’t think he would commit suicide right after (as shown by the game it takes ALOT to get him that far)

And you are correct in that statement. However, in this one, things are a little different. As pressure from both external and internal factors do influence him to take such a tragic measure. This wasn't just any smaller recital but rather a much larger one. Mari also was under immense pressure and expectation, and in mixed with her perfectionism spells out disaster for the both of them.

I don’t think its impossible. From what I understand, his situation with Mari got much worse and he felt increasingly guilty about his failure. In my opinion, the idea he had makes more sense than the original story because of Basil idea.

i think sunny would do the recital, helped by the encouragement of his friends. it mightve been scrathy, or our of tune, but at the end of it all, their friends were proud of him, and he was happy, that now things could be back to how they were before.

I wanted to point this out but Hero in this AU really looks like some popular and cool kid at school that knows how to skate (for some reason) instead of a father figure like in the original game. Thats probably how Mari sees Hero instead of Sunny i guess?
