That's the right question. I would answer as Peter did: "Rulers and elders of the people...know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead... Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Thanks. Yes, that would make sense. The light gets ever brighter as the day nears. But it's been getting brighter my whole life. Whenever I speak to these things, I'm reminded of my grandpa's library which I inherited some time ago. He pastored during the 60s, 70s, and 80s and had a collection of various end times books that interpreted the signs with great certainty, saying that Jesus' return was imminent. They didn't age well. It reminds me to keep all my own speculations in check with a holy shrug. I do think my position in this video makes sense, but the practical application is to be prepared and faithful. *That* message transcends everything else and is the one where we all have concensus. Jesus is Lord and he is coming back. Hallelujah. Amen.

Interesting idea, I'd never thought about it that way. It even ties in on my concern with the pre-trib vs post-trib rapture debate. My concern is not which scenario is correct, but which idea will cause believers to lose faith. If pre-trib is correct, post-trib believers get the benefit too. But, if the post-trib thought is correct, come the tribulation, many pre-trib believers may fall away because they will think that God has abandoned them. In your scenario, many believers will be put in situations that will test their fate. I pray we all stay strong in the Lord.

If one loses faith it is because they exercise in faith has fallen short of the glory of God in the first place. Either one knows and believes or one has not built that bond with God yet to receive the true faith of God's power. Read "Steward of God's Mysteries", author Mary Esther Shahbazi and the readers life will change forever and will never doubt faith in God. Agreed. I can see the celebrating. Especially watching how quickly people celebrated the attack on Israel. Even Americans who we like to think are above that. But the only way I can think of to make sense of fire coming out of their mouths and consuming their enemies, and having power to make it not rain, turn the rivers to blood, and strike the earth with plagues, is to see it as symbolic. It's not a stretch to think of fire as symbolic. John said Jesus would bring a baptism of fire, and we don't complain that he didn't literally set people on fire. And rain is seen as a blessing. Perhaps it's the power to refuse blessing? Water and blood has significant symbolism in the scriptures. In fact, that, along with plagues are listed in other parts of Revelation. What's to say they aren't connected? I'm very slowly studying the four stories of seven in Revelation. There are seven churches, seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven plagues, with each story culminating in a magnificent event with rumblings, peals of thunder, etc. I think most people try to read Revelation as if it's a linear storyline with individual stories. But I suspect it is the same story told in various ways. I even think you can make a case for the stories being already but not yet. I think there's some understanding to be had there. And while I haven't finalized my thinking on the parallels, it does influence my thinking here. If you have any insights, let me know.

@@simplerfaith we're agreed, there are many variables when it comes to understanding who the two witnesses are. Have you considered whether the seven churches are the measuring reed used to measure the Temple right before the two witnesses receive their authority to torment the gentiles in the outer court? Out of the seven only two have nothing to repent from, Smyrna and Philadelphia, the church under crushing pressure and the church of brotherly love. The remaining five have some good in them but also have things to repent from. These metrics sound like a way of measuring a people who make up the temple of God, whose chief cornerstone is the son of God. Perhaps the two witnesses are Smyrna and Philadelphia (Jews & Gentiles?, Ephraim & Manasseh?) And the other five are the outer courts given to the be tread underfoot (winepress of wrath)? Whether the two witnesses are a corporate body or two individuals remains enclear, but I like your reasoning I can see it going either way. Good news! John the revelator is one of the two witnesses. He got called to preach to all nations, God doesn't change His mind. He got all the equipment, saw heaven open, ate the little book . met the 24 elders and angels singing in heaven, (he sang with them in the vision like the two witnesses do now they are singing prophets) He saw the animals crying, and John shows up in the whole book of revelation at the beginning to the end. John was probably reclining on the chest of Jesus when they were arguing about his place. He was very young a manchild. Like kids who want to sit in the front seat arguing. Yaka one of the witnesses new names they have thousands of sweet new names One essential significance of the Greek word prophētēs is 'one who speaks forth,' principally, of course, as a forth-teller of the Divine will The other ones name is in the bible too its Crown. They are singing prophets, the end time judges Howesa guardian protector parent Jhn 21:22 Jesus replied, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? As for you, follow me." Whats in John’s little book and who ate it? The two witnesses are singing prophets like David and Isaiah. What do they sing? Johns little closed up end times long song book now open the key to understanding the end times What does it say? Its like whole end times welcome packet has something for everybody. Everybody gets something from the book. Even the animals get something from the book. There are new end times parables, new songs, new proverbs, new anointings, new things springing up. It was hidden in the old testament. And there is a lot of confirmation of all of it in every way all in the rest of the bible. Its really really sweet and a song book like Isaiah and Psalms are song books. Worship is really stressed. Its Revelations expanded Talks in depth about the two witnesses, the bride of Christ, the 24 elders, the asleep in Christ, the animals in heaven and earth, the horsemen, how the resurrection will happen, the marker, the devil, and the judgments. The judgments are bitter and painful. The other part is sweet as honey. And its different than people thought, it was all hidden until the end times. The songs are for Sending out the latter rain Changing the weather Healing Repentance songs Love songs from the heart of God to us Resurrection of life songs Kicking the devils butt Sending Fire and whirlwinds (look around whats going on?) New name seal songs (our names are written in a book) Calling the animals Judgment songs Worship songs the most important part this is how we get heaven open Its open now and I got to eat the little book too. It even has a funny page full of jokes This is book it has bitter judgment songs from the mouth of God and the songs do light fires. Look at all the fires [Zec 5:1-4 NKJV] 1 Then I turned and raised my eyes, and saw there a flying scroll. 2 And he said to me, "What do you see?" So I answered, "I see a flying scroll. Its length [is] twenty cubits and its width ten cubits." 3 Then he said to me, "This [is] the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth: 'Every thief shall be expelled,' according [to] this side of [the scroll]; and, 'Every perjurer shall be expelled,' according [to] that side of it." 4 "I will send out [the curse]," says the LORD of hosts; "It shall enter the house of the thief And the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It shall remain in the midst of his house And consume it, with its timber and stones." [Rev 10:2, 8-10 KJV] 2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and [his] left [foot] on the earth, ... (the right and left hand of Jesus with Him the two witnesses telling their tale to be told finishing their testimony) (this is 8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go [and] take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. 9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take [it], and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. Why the songs? [Pro 18:21 KJV] 21 Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. The morning stars sang together at creation so the tongue creates and brings fruit. The morning stars sing together Ode of Solomon 23 mentions the long letter I post 5 And His thought was like a letter; His will descended from on high, and it was sent like an arrow which is violently shot from the bow: p. 132 6 And many hands rushed to the letter to seize it and to take and read it: 7 And it escaped their fingers and they were affrighted at it and at the seal that was upon it. 8 Because it was not permitted to them to loose its seal: for the power that was over the seal was greater than they. 9 But those who saw it went after the letter that they might know where it would alight, and who should read it and who should hear it. 10 But a wheel received it and came over it: 11 And there was with it a sign of the Kingdom and of the Government: 12 And everything which tried to move the wheel it mowed and cut down: 13 And it gathered the multitude of adversaries, and bridged the rivers and crossed over and rooted up many forests and made a broad path. 14 The head went down to the feet, for down to the feet ran the wheel, and that which was a sign upon it. 15 The letter was one of command, for there were included in it all districts; 16 And there was seen at its head, the head which was revealed even the Son of Truth from the Most High Father, 17 And He inherited and took possession of everything. And the thought of many was brought to nought. 18 And all the apostates hasted and fled away. And those who persecuted and were enraged became extinct. 19 And the letter was a great volume, which was wholly written by the. finger of God: 20 And the name of the Father was on it, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, to rule for ever and ever. Have you read Daniel 7:1-28 and especially verse 25? Also Revelation 13:1-6? Perhaps you've been mislead about "the rapture" doctrine. @@simplerfaith The text from the Geneva bible 1599 in 2 Thess2 v 3 was changed in newer versions from saying " Let no one decieve you by any means for that Day will not come unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition". The church is not mentioned in any scripture which discusses the tribulation in the book of revelation. Saints are mensioned in the tribulation, but saints are also mensioned in the OT! But that does not prove the church was there. The church age began with the out pouring of the Holy Spirit and ends with the rapture. The church is discussed in Rev ch 1 to 3 before the tribulation. And again in Rev ch 19 to 22 after the tribulation. But not in ch 6 to 18 during the tribulation Why would Jesus prepare a place for His followers in heaven if the rapture was post trib because they would never see it. This is because after the millennium heaven and earth are rolled up like a scroll and a new heaven and earth are created. Which means the place He prepares for His followers would never be used see John ch 14 v 1 to3.

Thanks for taking the time to explain all that. Of course, yours is one of the interpretations that is historically accepted, but not the only one. I personally do see the church in chapter 7 (the 144,000), chapter 8 (the prayers of God's people), chapter 9 (the angel is told not to harm people who have the seal of God on their foreheads), chapter 11 of course, and chapter 12 (the dragon wages war against "those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus"), etc. It keeps going. It seems to me like a motivated reading to say that the church isn't mentioned in those chapters. That said, rather than me trying to prove that the church is present during the tribulation (those chapters), consider the possibility that the book of Revelation is not a linear story told beginning to end, but rather, several parallel accounts of the same story. But please hear me when I qualify all this by saying that it's not dogma for me, but speculation. Conjecture. And I believe it's worth considering. I also believe certitude isn't helpful to the conversation. Your view may be right. But I think my view has validity. Thanks for taking time to engage on this.

New Covenant Whole Gospel: What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. Yeah Ive been thinking for about a year or two that the two witnesses are the two testaments. The Church and Israel, makes perfect sense. Especially when you consider that Israel comes to the Lord in the last days and the Antichrist makes war on the saints and overcomes them. To my mind, the body is the groom and Israel is the bride, there is a wedding coming for sure.
@simplerfaith6 ай бұрын
Interesting thought. And yes, a wedding is coming. As I think through the scriptures, the union of the Jews and Gentiles has already been accomplished. Ephesians 2:15-16 says that "His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility." And in other scriptures the wedding metaphor describes the church as the bride and Jesus the groom. And "The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come!'" Interesting to think of this as the engagement, where we're preparing for the wedding.

@@simplerfaith but not fully, because Paul says that the Jews are temporarily blinded and will turn back to the Lord at some point. The Word speaks extensively about the remnant in the final days and that God has hidden His face from them until they say "blessed is he who comes in the name of The Lord". So there is yet still to be repentance from Israel. Spiritually we know we are being grafted onto the vine, but physically, more is to come.

@@888WulfDog888 I guess I should have clarified (I think I did in the video?) that when I speak of Israel that way, I mean those who are in Christ. Even if there is still a remnant who will come to faith, it will not be by virtue of Jewishness, but by virtue of faith, just like it is now. There will certainly continue to be people who are Jewish by descent but who never soften their hearts toward God or open their eyes to the Light of Christ. They will not be part of the bride of Christ. As for calling the church the bride of Christ, the metaphor shows up in places other than Revelation 21, like 2 Corinthians 11 where the audience is followers of Jesus Christ, and Paul refers to them as the bride with Jesus as their husband. And yes, it's true that in Revelation 21 we see the metaphor applied to the New Jerusalem, but note that on its twelve gates are written the names of the twelve tribes/patriarchs, and on its twelve foundation stones are the names of the twelve apostles. I believe this depicts the mysterious but glorious union and reconciliation that we see in Ephesians 2.

I was interested in your interpretation of these verses because I recently began to wonder whether the two witnesses were the Church ad Israel. Because the olive trees represent Israel in the scriptures and the candlesticks represents the church. And the fact that there are two of each could represent plurality. This is just a theory of mine; I am certainly not dogmatic about it. I have just recently begun to wonder about it. The only problem about it that concerns me is that their bodies are in Jerusalem. Verse Rev. 11:7 correlates to Daniel 7:21. I was taught pre-trib rapture, but once studying the Bible, I have come to believe it is a false doctrine.

It doesn't say Jerusalem, it actually gives a very strong indication that it's an analogous city. I believe this; Sodom was destroyed because it was utterly corrupted and wicked Egypt was the place where God's people departed from after it had been struck with plagues, signs and wonders. So once the witnesses have been killed...... God's people have departed and the earth is completely corrupted. Where our Lord was crucified...... That part I need to think about, or I should say pray about a bit more, but I do believe I have the answer for it.

Before you delve into the logic of God's choices of his people you need to stop confusing the two terms: ISRAELITE versus JEWISH. They are not the same. This is critical: The first term refers to the progeny of Jacob, the second refers to the BELIEF of the person described as Jew or Jewish. To make the distinction clearer, please answer the following: If a Chinese, or a Japanese, or a European choses to adopt the Jewish belief, do they automatically become Israelite and acquire the right to live in the "promised real estate"? God chose the Israelites, the progeny of Jacob, NOT the Jews. This makes all the difference in understanding the current, (and previous), events in a religious context. The indigenous population of that piece of land are the progeny of Jacob, the Israelites, not the Jews. Genetic markers have unequivocally shown that the current "Palestinians" are in fact the indigenous population of that piece of land (Palestine). Palestinians are mainly Jewish, Christians, and Muslims. Some of them migrated to other parts of the world and many remained in Palestine. A person whose lineage is from Russia, for example, and whose great grand parents adopted the Jewish belief does NOT qualify as an Israelite. He/She is NOT a descendant of Jacob. Whereas a Palestinian whose great grand parents adopted the Islamic faith is still an Israelite because he is a descendant of Jacob. This is a critical point that is being intentionally overlooked as it exposes the true nature of the war that is raging against the indigenous population of Palestine. It's the evil colonial genocide of God's chosen people, the PALESTINIANS by the colonialists who come from Europe, America, the old Soviet Union and every where (even India and Africa) under the cover of the Jewish belief. The Palestinians, whether jewish, christian, or muslim, are the last remaining descendants of Jacob, (blessed be his memory whenever his name is mentioned), and they are being anihilated in their thousands by Satans forces using all sorts of destructive weapons. The almighty Lord is my witness I have declared it as it is and as, I pray, the Lord will be pleased with.

@@MAGH1O1Mine was a sincere question as well. It sounded like you were inviting me to dialog, but perhaps I misread it. No need to reply if you don't want to, but since your comment is on my channel, I'll respond to it. From a Christian perspective, all who are of Jewish decent are not spiritually Jews. This would be true of Israelis/Israelites, Palestinians, or any national or ethnic identity. Like Paul says in *Romans 2*.28-29 "A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code." *Ephesians 2*.11Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)- 12remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.14For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Progeny or blood line is no longer what orients our understanding of God's favor, or these prophecies, but the person's heart that bows before Jesus. "All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved."

The most important and overlooked prophecies by both Christans and jews refer to Ephraim and the lost house of Israel (the northern kingdom) so many quotes in the new testament scriptures are quotes about the lost 10 tribes. The book of Hosea is particularly important. Please refer to passages also, such as Isaiah chapters 8-11. Thats why the number 10 is all over the gospel of John. 10 lepers and 1 who comes back was from Samaria...the capital of Ephraim. 10 virgins. Yeshua preached in the Decapolis (10 towns). Anywho, the gist is that Ephraim and Judah are the 2 sticks that become one that God will hold in his hand and rule the nations, 2 sheepfolds that will be reunited. The two that will be yoked together equally and plough. The 2 who stand before the God. Consequently, the 2 that islam claims they will kill in the last days. The people of the Book.

If we look at the function and the history of Christianity and the Jewish people. We have the "church" or Christianity in the role of Ephraim without acknowledging that he is Ephraim. Each group claiming only they are Israel but in fact both are 2 different witnesses of of God while both being a part of Israel. We will both become 1 flock soon when Ephraim repents of its lawlessness and Judah receives the Messiah because God keeps His word. Isaiah 11: 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. 13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. 14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines (Palestinians)toward the west (Gaza); they shall spoil them of the east together (the west bank): they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab (Jordanians); and the children of Ammon shall obey them.I would just encourage Food for thought. @simplerfaith Жыл бұрын
It may be two men. And yes, some speculate Elijah and Enoch. But there are other ways to read it. Revelation is filled with descriptions that most of us see as symbolic, like dragons and multiheaded beasts. But when it describes people, we then assume it's literal. That's understandable because it's familiar. But in some parts, it's hard to decide. Like, when you read about the prostitute riding on the beast, is the whole image allegorical or is only the beast that she's riding on? And the woman in the desert who bears a child, is that a real woman and child, or a picturesque way of seeing an event? And what about the patriarchs being gates and the apostles being foundations in the new Jerusalem, are they really gates and foundations or is that a picturesque way of speaking about what they stand for? I personally believe most of the imagery in Revelation is symbolic. But, like I say, if it's literal I won't be caught off guard. I'll recognize it, even if I'm amazed by it. And if it's communicating a hidden meaning, I'll be looking for that too, and hope to recognize it.

@@sarahlynn4790 There are generally two credible ways to read Revelation, but no consensus. That's why I try to say "I think" or "I'm speculating." I know that sounds like I haven't studied it, but I really just hope that by demonstrating a more conversational approach to these things, we can learn to stay away from the doctrinal certitude that divides the body of Christ around disputable matters. The helpful conversation allows for different views. So if I explain another view, please don't hear it as me shutting out yours. Generally some people say that Revelation is to be read *literally* (although they would probably still say the beast and dragon are not literal, but symbolic). Others say it is to be read *figuratively* (although they would probably still say the angels and martyrs, etc. are literal). I land in the second camp. My guess is you land in the first? In the first camp, people would say the prophets are literally two people. (Although they wouldn't say they're literally "two olive trees" and "two lampstands," which I find a bit ironic.) Of those who believe they're literally people, some would say they're two resurrected prophets of old. I think the best case for that is Moses and Elijah who Jesus talked to on the Mount of Transfiguration. Others would say that it's two new prophets that come onto the scene, like we see in the pop eschatology of Left Behind, etc. (I can't tell which you're saying it is.) In the second camp where I'm at, people would say the prophets are symbolic. Every time I study it, I'm most satisfied by the interpretation that the two witnesses are "the Old Covenant and the New Covenant." Embodied, we can speak of them as "Israel and the Church." But at the heart of it, it's the OC and NC. If you read the book of Revelation in sections, allowing the "sevens" to divide it (churches, seals, trumpets, plagues), you'll see the same story being told in parallels, and this will become more clear. All that said, if two literal prophets show up on the scene, it won't frustrate my faith at all. And if they don't, I'll be ready for what comes. That's my prayer and my desire in bringing this teaching.
