Without a doubt such an alliance would be the most strategically potent move America could make. As well as the dissolution of NATO. Really I'm speaking purely from Chinese military philosophy. Both the art of war, as well as the three kingdoms era are important to learn from. We need to see that there is a three way split in worldwide hegemony. We're pulled a Liu bei and doomed our kingdom because of it. You NEVER want to be the one who pokes the bear. You can always win a defensive battle in these cases. But we have foolishly made Ukraine our guan yu and sought revenge. It's not only strategic blunder, it's also the inevitable doom of our nation. An alliance with russia is of course not really realistic. But it would be the only way to keep China in check. Otherwise any move will lead to a war on two fronts. And no. Putins russia is not soviet or communist. I agree. It's really more akin to a sort of pseudo-tsardom. Hence why I call him the tsar, partly out of respect, but partly out of satire. I respect his significance on the global stage, but I will never hesitate to mock tyranny. And for all of his good points, he has not honored human rights to an ideal level... but neither has any European nation or the US, whether historically or currently.

Canada would not go down so easy man. Pound for pound the Canadians have the best military in the world. And they have proven that on countless occasions over the last 100 years. Especially in both of the World Wars, Canadian frontline troops were seen as the best and most nasty of all nations involved. The Germans even referred to the Canadians as Sturmtruppen (storm troopers) throughout World War 1. Hitler remembered this in WW2 as he would more often than not send his most elite divisions to repel Canadian offensives. Canadians also historically get more involved in war per capita than Americans do. In WW2, Canada had 1.2 million men and women enlisted, almost all volunteers. Not bad for a country of 12 million at the time. Considering its population of nearly 40 million today, how many do you think would join up if they heard their home soil was going to be threatened? Considering the country's pride, I'd say they can muster just enough to repel whichever Americans are willing to do the job. Unless there's a draft, of course, America could just outman Canada, but I'm questioning how many would be up for the task when considering what Canada is. It is much colder than the U.S and Canadians are used to these conditions and can use this to their advantage, similar to what the Fins did against the Soviets in WW2. Canada has the best trained arctic divisions on the globe and would provide an overwhelming challenge for any military. Add that to what average Canadians enjoy doing: playing the most dangerous sport in the world extremely aggressively (hockey), hunting various animals in harsh conditions, farming and doing manual labor in harsh conditions, and other physically demanding things that are just so hard to do in Canadian conditions; and it's clear that Canada would be a tough mountain to climb for anyone. Add that to its vast size and very low climate and it would be near impossible for any army to go to Canada and completely conquer it. In the absolute worst-case scenario, everyone would just flee to the arctic and launch absolutely horrifying counterattacks. Canada has never lost a war, EVER! And only two countries can say that today. Hell, America even tried this back in 1812 and still failed miserably despite great numerical advantages. They attacked parts of modern-day Toronto and then the Brits and Canadians returned the favor and BURNED DOWN THE WHITE HOUSE. Lol
