Something I've noticed in these kinds of runs. Doing Rhineland, then going into Army Innovations, using one research slot to rush the basic medium tank, lets you get a really good tank, (the Panzer IV) that works well into 1941. The reason you rush it is because that way, you can get a couple tanks, and the production cap's been reached, so you'll just start pumping out tanks divisions. Also, in my experience, having 7/8 lights tanks with high speed can work very well. Assuming you have the Truck production, (meaning 5-7 mils) you'd be able to double the amount of tanks you can field, while still having 3/4ths of the soft attack, and the ability to basically teleport around your opponent.

Regarding your tank template at 9:29, I think motor recon can be removed, as testing shows it's more effective during defence rather than attack. Also I personally prefer slightly higher org, so I'd replace few tanks with motor. This allows me to do dangerous encirclements where I need the tank divs to fight 3-4 tiles, back to back.

@@tami8110 as based on testing 42 and 44 suffer the least terrain penalties for overstacking. As for why so big as 42. Bigger division have a lot of advantages over having smaller, but more number of divisions. Ex: no dependency on reinforce rate, higher HP, lower xp loss, lower supp equip loss, etc.

Tank template is good width and I like the 8 motorized inf as a minimum, but add 2 motorized AA to help with the CAS(especially with no air build) and transition to mech from motorized once your mediums are rolling out nicely off the production lines.

I remeber when I did this on brutal before NSB launched after watching Dankus' run. Took me a few attempts to survive but once you get rolling, there's no stopping the geman war machine. Love to see, that it still works, was worried with all the changes to supply and air power, that it might be impossible. Perhaps going to give it another try

Did you know you can actually see how much people you killed in a encirclement. In the upper right corner there is theater tab and there is a paper there. If you click on that you can see A LOT of information regarding your battles

when youre working with limited time/eco i would very much suggest doing 30 width light tank spa divs especially against ai the spa has enough soft attack to basically hold/attack into most stuff and about 3 divs of that as france for instance is enough to hold against germany with the rest of your army being 10 widths or 18 widths (basic inf)

AA that is important. Aurim did a run on the hardest difficulty. Mostly waited for enemy air to get reduced to ash in the beginning.

The way you continue is now that you've taken out the Soviet Union, find a part of the Eastern Front to hold and let the AI batter itself against a prepared line or waste time taking Siberia as you focus on Spain, firmly securing Continental Europe. Then go for taking out GB, which will remove the base for most AI invasions. That will allow you to again shift focus, pushing South into the Levant, setting up a defensive lin in Iran while you push down into Africa, taking out the Suez and securing the Mediterranean.

27:22 In singleplayer, some hoi4 tubers say meta is "spacemarines". Tank division has breakthrough like as spacemarines but they have speed also. But I think you should consider using them, because instead of constraring tanks to single divisions, you can send them to inf. divisions to make lots of more spacemarine divisions and they're cheaper. Efficiency-performance division. I am not sure, it has to be calculated however. By the way, it's fun to think about that France's tactic od dividing tanks all over divisions may work while playing hoi4.

It wont work, the tank is used for speed and breakthrough to get to vp asap while the enemy still bogged down in the frontline. spacemarines while having some breakthrough from the tank, they still as slow as an infantry which is not good for "snaking" to vp. and spacemarines took a big hit on industry too considering the 90% of the army is infantry so many tank is needed. so the best use of tank in this situation is like this in the video, this tactic were used for many disaster save vid too by alex the rambler and isp for encircling and destroying enemy div.

@@tutku1560 The only spacemarine template that will work really good is basically anything with flame tank, i didn't know have paradox nerf it or not but cheap light flame tank with max armor is rly op, you got infantry org, tank armor and light flame tank terrain buff. I forgot to mention the point of spacemarine isn't for breakthrough but the armor cause on the old version if you can't penetrate a division armor, you will get 20%(or smth i forgot) attack debuff, so stacking infantry and cheap tank with high armor is the meta

Me and a friend did this a year or so back but added some mods in the mix to make things interesting like improving ai intelligence and started it in 1939. Was a really tough but fun campaign where we caused a massacre in Scandinavia. The allies lost a good 30 million men up there through encirclements. Truly a cursed game

UR MIC is making a high pitched sound that makes it impossible for me to listen (ear sensitivity) for future reference you can remove it through audacity using a high pass filter under the frequency (to lower volume of sounds above selected frequency) the frequency is probably 7000+ hz, so to identify the exact frequency of the sound you can use a spectral analysis (go to Analyze -> Plot Spectrum while a part of the audio in which the sound is audible is selected) and look for a peak in higher frequencies, which your voice and sound effects would never reach alternatively there are more precise methods if you're a perfectionist, you can find tutorials on youtube good video nonetheless! keep it up

You should try this challenge: 1. Play as France 2. Get cores on Algeria 3. Release Algeria while retaining core states, and also play as Algeria

I think you had a lucky run here. When I played, Vichy France somehow called itself into the war and dragged in my other puppets as well, who all instantly capped and destroyed my front lines. I also got naval invaded nonstop after the first month. Also, mediums being moved to 1938 tech makes this harder as well.

They all redeployed to the Frontline and one that line broke, Poland was dead and gone. It's amazing how some countries just can't handle early war due to pop and mil issues

@@Bitt3rSteel I just mean in all my runs, Poland was stuffed full of units from all over the world, particularly the Soviets and Chinese, almost instantly after the war began. By 1942 I had killed literally 100 million people with only 3 million losses but they still kept flooding in. This is a really fun mod though, thanks for recommending it.

I found the best Strat for the one year build at least when I did it before no step back was to go full offense, grab self propelled light tank artillery , 20 withs just rush down Western Europe asap like every hour counts, but you gotta kill France, benilux, Spain Portugal and lastly Italy Czechoslovakia, UK with a quick sea lion then pushing into Russia and Poland was easy when all the west is secure. That Strat would not work as well now though maybe with the new logistics system now id have to give it another try myself

I did brutal and got my front lines into a mess from soviet and Chinese troops, just steam rolling outside of Berlin, but I was able to cut them off and destroy all of the divisions, which was 95 in one pocket then another 78 and 54 in the other two, I believe it was that not sure though It took me until 1962 to beat all of the countries. Time almost 3 weeks on 2 and 4 speed. It's not fun all, I had to do everything myself one division at a time. Twenty-eight tries to beat it

The ragnarok mod is exactly what happened in my plathrough as france. They invaded Austria which Me, Italy and Britain had guaranteed. In that game, Mussolini sided with us the Allies and not Hitler. Bassicaly the reich was destroyed in 1939. Cause I didn’t join the war until my own civil war was done. (I played as communist France so I got a fascist civil war)

Well the campaing is going to be extremely cursed because the US is always going to have guns and weapons to deliver to nations with Manpower, and the best idea would be to rush nations that get manpower in the focus tree, capitulating them and trying to reach coastlines, another idea would be to damage them, let them get back to force and attack again with armor, that way you kill their manpower and make it safe, like the classic strategy as yugoslavia to keep one italian port open and attack each time they land, killing the division with low strength.
