I think this misses a major thing. I think if Dante was wounded and hurt and initially activated his Demonic powers to kill the Demons who attacked him as a boy, he wouldn’t do what Vergil did and think “I’ve been abandoned” I strongly thing Dante would run BACK to the house while it was getting besieged and together the two sons of Sparta would fight to try and find/Save their mother. Vergil likely would get majorly hurt here too, which would trigger his demon abilities. If they could save their mother, they’d likely go into hiding with actual guidance for their humanity and still have that level of childhood rivalry but it would never manifest to a degree of that in DMC3. From there, Arkham would have to deal with his strategy wildly different, maybe Vergil and Dante together would try to find Sparda themselves heading to Fortuna (so Nero lives) and Dante, Vergil and Nero likely with Nero’s mother, (possibly Eva if she’s still alive) would likely live relatively normal lives with a double life of Demon Hunters. Especially after wiping the floor with Arkham. DMC1 would play out wildly differently, with Dante and Vergil going together to defeat Mandus. DMC 4 should the events transpire as now there’s a known 3 members of the blood line of Sparda would probably go ahead, but the order knowing they can’t get Dante or Vergil, would have to target Nero. Manipulating him or abducting him. Vergil dad rage. And Dante Uncle Rage would put them to sleep real quick. DMC5 would never happen, and then neither would get their sun devil trigger form. Possibly Nero would, but Dante and Vergil wouldn’t

Personally it would be fun to see how it would play out since the capcom devs love new ideas and trying to take the characters in new ways and evolving them. It would be cool to see 1 game where this is explored. Him being like DMC 2 Dante Makes sense. He is Colder the only time he would ever joke is at the expense of others like how Verigil talks down to you. Dante makijg that 1 Joke "Here's your crown" sums up my general idea. Like no Joke if you ever heard of this YT channel name Starwsrs theory but if you ever saw him or look up his stuff his fanfictions on how he twist story events sre honestly really good. Kinda like what you did here but a Deep dive and he would really look at everything. That to me would be a cool thing to explore. Sorry if my comment comes off like i am Rambling XD

I guess one way capcom can explore this is with a prequel, one that goes back to the time vergil met nero's mother. In this game, Vergil becomes the main devil hunter with Dante the special edition character. Gameplay-wise, it acts as a chance to add more to vergil's moveset, while storywise showing a social side of him that would permit interacting with other people. I mean his ex-taunt at dmc5 already implies he does have a personality quirk like his twin that he's just embarrassed about, so capcom just has to lean more into that.

​@@RedDrake110There's still differences to be had if their weapons were also swapped. Things would play out basically the same just with Vergil's seriousness instead. Vergil's business would be in a lot better shape because he won't be consuming a million pizzas everyday. He would be a lot more close to Lady as Vergil wouldn't have that goofy asshole attitude. I say they'll probably team up right on the first encounter in this timeline's DMC3. How you write Nero in this timeline however is a bit weird but also has lots of freedom. You can also just scrap his character and have Dante be the one to have a child.

i think the Sin DT bit is a tad far-fetched. SDT followed the same logic as Vergil deciding to divide himself into V and Urinate in that through years of experience and knowing that he was going to a "final" confrontation with his brother Dante through introspection realized he needed to accept both sides of himself represented by the Rebellion which defied his liniage to produce his own power and Sparda a symbol of wear his power is derived to produce something that truly represented him. if Dante does not complete a similar character arc then there is little reason to assume he'd know how to unlock SDT, especially seeing as the most anybody knew about Sparda was it's power associated with its namesake and NOT how it'd interact with the sons. early SDT is a what-if that makes no sense and also goes nowhere like a marvel what-if were a villain wins and you might as well say that universe was deleted

Demons have a specific kind of nature and very few defy it the only examples I can think of are sparda himself and that sparda's follower from the anime. Unlike humans who very and either seek strength through other means(Arkham) or double down(Lady). Human blood has empowering properties which is why Arkham kills his wife to gain power or the sacrifices for the tree(name?) Something about humans makes demons strong.
