In EU force heal was there in prequels. Anakin tried to used it but it involved having to have certain emotionally control I think. I remember it was brought up in comics Anakin tried to use it on someone but ended up causing them pain. There we a branch of Jedis who practiced force heal.

Anakin could have used it to save to he loved from certain death. Obi-Wan could have used it to save Qui-Gon
@jeffwright44912 жыл бұрын
This was my first thought right after seeing RoS! If this ability exists I dare say the Jedi would have known about it and Yoda would have taught it! Yes certain injuries would still be fatal....beheadings etc. Pretty sure Jango and Dooku would agree with that one. But pretty sure Qui-Gon could have been saved with it. Zam Wessell would have been revived after Jango tried to kill her...thus her ratting out Jango and company to the Jedi. You can go on and on. This is just one more reason the Disney sequels are terrible and have no place in Star Wars canon....for this fan here (me) they never existed...only bad fan fiction.
@Lelebees2 жыл бұрын
The only explanation i have for it, is that it is a dark side power, that rey and kylo are somehow able to use still, bad fanfic
@jeffwright44912 жыл бұрын
@@Lelebees Here's why (this is just my opinion) that cannot be the case. The ability to heal is giving of oneself to achieve a benefit for another person. Dark siders think inwards...only of themselves and cannot achieve such power which is why they can never cheat death. See the RotS novelization when Qui-Gon is speaking to Yoda near the end about the ability to become one with the living force. Force heal (were it to exist) would come about in a similar manner as its a "giving" ability requiring love and compassion....something lacking in the dark side. Vader and Maul were able to keep themselves alive with the dark side using their immense hate to sustain them. But once again this is helping only themselves....that is where the dark side shines....giving great strength to a person's selfish desires and love of self....if they had light in them their injuries would have been too great and both would have died painfully...ceasing to exist....no amount of force heal could have saved them (were another light sider present to help ofc). Hope that helps....I do love a good friendly Star Wars chat.
@richiefranklin762 жыл бұрын
Hey I'm not saying the Disney sequels aren't bad,because they simply are. But I think your assumption that Yoda would know force heal is flawed. Yoda may seem old to us,but in fact he was born nearly a 100 yrs after Darth Bane instigated the 'rule of two'. The period from Darth Bane to the prequels,originals,and sequels is actually really small in comparison to the whole of Star wars history.It's a stated fact that even Sidious and Vader pale in comparison to some of the ancient Sith before Darth Bane. So obviously there was a lot of knowledge lost there somewhere. In return I don't think it's crazy at all to suppose that there might have been some very old techniques like force heal that the ancient Jedi used,that were rediscovered again at some point.
@jeffwright44912 жыл бұрын
@@richiefranklin76 Oh I have no doubt there might have been a number of abilities/powers lost and possibly rediscovered through the ages. I completely agree with you. Still I personally in my own fandom choose to ignore the sequels and consider them the bad fan fiction they are. Force heal and Rey just pulling it out of her ass to save Kylo who in turn saves her with it is just a slap in the face to all the great Jedi 9qui-Gon) who never stood a chance due to it simply "not being around". If my memory serves me correctly I swear I recall hearing George Lucas himself refer to it as "lazy storytelling" on their part coming up with this as it pretty much makes it like "why fear any of our heroes being killed? Force heal will save the day". Again just my opinion...for anyone who likes it and the sequels I say "God Bless....enjoy them. They're just not for me....episodes 1-6 and the old classic expanded universe are the only canon for this old guy lol

The idea of force heal while its an interesting concept, it wouldn't make sense in term of the prequels. In legends (OG Canon) there was in fact a way to heal and even bring those back from the dead which is what Cade Skywalker would eventually learn. However, he had to tap into the darkside in order to do it. I remember it saying the the person required lots of training before preforming the ability so they don't turn to the darkside. This would make more sense to me because its suppose to be a very powerful ability that would be discovered after the original trilogy. I could be wrong unless I'm missing some Old Republic lore that I may not know.
