Actually for most of these drummers I had a specific song of theirs for reference, can you guess some of them?

Your larnell was toight loik a toiger. Either way you got the halftime shuffle down solid Pietro. Solid A tier, maybe S tier on days the groove is flowing, can carry all lanes or jungle.

very creative! Pietro doing an impression of Purdie doing an impression of Porcaro doing a Purdie shuffle.... while taking a jab at Lars.

I loved how you threw in Neil Peart (RIP professor)... man what would it have been like IF he and Jeff ever met? I mean stylistically and playing wise both were on almost the opposite ends of the spectrum. Yet, they were both extreme technicians and masters of their chops, feel and both had excellent time. I've "searched" online for like anything in an interview that either Jeff or Neil might have said about one another, to no avail. Both are two of so many of my all time favorite drummers. With Jeff, I didn't know who he was till I got the Modern Drummer in '92 that had the tribute to him and Neil, I thankfully got to see twice with Rush: once in '94 and once in '04. Though very different players, both were masters of their craft. And both are deeply missed by us, all their fans, respectively. RIP JP...

A couple of observations. Proof that no matter the skill level and talent of the drummer, many times the person who played it best is the original. Porcaro was the right drummer for that song, though Gadd’s version would have been interesting. And second, the Bonham shuffle and Perdie shuffle have more in common than I thought. That’s all.
@Pietro.Valente2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree Porcaro was irreplaceable. The scope of this video is certainly not to improve the music but to have fun imagining other possible interpretations.
@cw85372 жыл бұрын
It’s interesting to have invoked Bonham and Purdie both since Porcaro took bits of both for the actually Rosanna track

Impressive! Do you use some vocal cues or you have it memorized?
@Pietro.Valente2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! No, I memorized just the drummers order because the change is on every section of the song
@shaneborger90542 жыл бұрын
That was brilliant! Though, as a huge Phil Collins fan, I am not sure what the reference point for the groove was. The fill was very Phil but I’m not sure whether he would have tried to mimic the shuffle with a little Phil twist. Otherwise, the Bonham was spot on. Since, Fool in the rain incorporates a similar ride pattern. And the placement of Gene Krupa was perfect. It was the exact spot for his famous Tom playing.

Thanks! For Phil I used his famous Down and Out groove: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4aVn4eAac2orqM
