ciao, sarebbe bello vedere una tua cover di Beginning di Mitch Mitchell. Magari il breve ritmo di solo

Excellent video Pietro. Other drummers influenced by Phil Collins are Topper Headon, Rat Scabies, John Doyle, John Merrymen and Peter De Freitas. One thing that sets him apart from his peers is sense of groove, especially among his peers. Brand X's "Moroccan Roll" is in my honest opinion's Phil Collins finest hour as a drummer.

After Keith started using two bass drums, he famously stopped playing hi hats live and often didn't include them in his kit. Sometimes a closed pair was mounted to his right. The studio was probably a different story. When you played these songs, I noticed you used them frequently. Did you hear a hi hat part on the studio version of these songs? I know there is a prominent hi-hat part in Who Are You of course. Its got to be a huge challenge to lose the hi-hats. As a part-time drummer I cannot imagine trying to hold down any kind of beat without them.
@Pietro.Valente3 ай бұрын
Yes, he used the hi-hat in the studio every time. I totally agree, losing the hi-hat would be a tragedy 😂

Can you explain to me what's going on with the irrational time signature in Ades's second mazurka? It's confusing me a lot

@@Pietro.Valente My comment gets automatically blocked if I post it as a link, the youtube video ID is 2AQNJeXL9cs and it starts at 1:57 It has a 'play this' section in 3/4 and a 'hear this' section in 5/12 (an irrational time signature) and it's confusing me a lot why it's like that and how i should look at it
@Pietro.Valente3 ай бұрын
@@yat_ii in the 5/12 it's shown the main rhythm of the part, which is a triplet plus an eight note, in the 3/4 there are extra notes as embellishment. I suggest you to work on the hear this section first and then add the extra notes of the play this line.

Great video and nice playing. KM had such flair when he played but sort of burned out by 76 or so. I really enjoyed your close look at his styles. Certainly one of , and in my opinion greatest Rock drummers , in his prime, that ever played! A showman with wicked speed. RIP KM

Fantastic solo my friend! I've been keen to explore playing this way more but my hands hurt a lot! And the sound just isn't where I want it to be. Did you learn any particular hand technique or did you already have a background playing conga or other hand percussion? How did you get started?
@Pietro.Valente3 ай бұрын
Thanks! I don't have a background with percussion, so I explored the sound and possibilities by myself. I suggest you to take a couple of lessons with a percussionist, it would help a lot.
