He is wrong in blaming the population, power in Ukraine has been seized by the United States, people have either fled or can’t do anything, there are, of course, zombies because in Ukraine all TV channels are in one hand, others are closed and there is a 24-hour telethon with the same opinion, but you can’t blame them, if you show a person 20 hours a day an “Egyptian” who rapes children and eats their hearts, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not, and then bring people from Egypt to the city, an attitude will already be formed, this is clearly visible from the comments here, the government and the media are broadcasting the position they need and the plots and vision of what is happening is completely distorted, this is very noticeable in the comments

We have freedom of speech in Russia. Nothing's going to happen to the guy. You heard what you wanted from him, your opinion coincided with his, so you are happy. In fact, he said stupid things. Russia cannot ignite a war of attrition. And comparing this war with the war against Napoleon or Hitler is stupid. Moreover, many short-sighted people like to compare Hitler's and Russia's justifications for the war. The difference is that the occupied territories are REALLY RUSSIAN. You don't read the history of Russia. If you are from the West, then your information is given from a Western mouthpiece. Ukraine has violated all possible agreements, regardless of Russia at all. @thomasbaader6629 3 ай бұрын
The "You can't defeat a nuclear power" argument is only true if your intent is to invade and occupy/destroy a nuclear power. It isn't true if the nuclear power attacked you and you're only defending. Of course you could beat off the invasion and in that sense win the war.

Nuclear sabre rattling is not for world leaders. World leaders know it will never happen. When the US got involved in Korea, Stalin was head of the USSR and he threatened the US with nuclear retaliation. Friggin' Stalin! And it didn't happen. All throughout the cold war, the world had a couple of close calls with nuclear war but not because of actual threats, but because of misunderstandings or equipment malfunction. Nuclear sabre rattling is meant to scare regular people, not leaders because leaders know it will never happen. A president in a democracy is more scared of losing their voters than of nuclear war. So if the population of a Western country believes Russia's nuclear threats their leaders will have to appease Russia or come to compromises lest they get voted out by their scared populace

If a military alliance is being created in order to destroy Russia and is approaching its borders, it is logical that Russia will not like it. Russian Russians were not initially against the European Union, moreover, many Russians before 2012 would not have minded being part of the European Union, but as soon as the EU turned into an economic department of NATO and a vassal of the United States, then everything fell into place for Russians. The US and USSR are said to have lost wars despite being nuclear power, even super powers. The USSR even collapsed in the wakes of the economical struggle due to the war in Afghanistan. Is one thing to lose on your own soil, to lose everything, like Nazi Germany, or to lose on a foreign soil rather by giving up the war efforts for political and or economical reasons.

In a war, none of the sides will actually "win". But Russia is no doubt going to become the biggest loser. Demographics were already not in Russia's favour before the war started, now it will be much worse. A shoddy civilian society and public sector will turn even worse. Russia will be isolated and become more and more dependent on other authoritarian regimes. And Russia, which had a chance to become a part of a world society, blew that chance ...

These territories were developed jointly by Russians and Ukrainians. The Bolsheviks defined the border of Ukraine 100 years ago. Russian Russians have included regions with a transitional Russian-Ukrainian identity, or even with a purely Russian one, into the composition of Ukraine. It is for these regions that Russia is fighting. But, in general, this is not the only purpose of the war.

In the Soviet-Afghan war, ~15,000 soldiers were killed and ~35,000 were wounded. The Afghans suffered civilian deaths ~2 MILLION. Despite Russia killing ~133 people for every soldier it lost, Russia gained no territory and it ended in stalemate. It also started with messaging from Moscow that victory would be measured in months. Russia vastly underestimated the tenacity of Afghan fighters to drag it out for a decade. Do Russian people understand that they have lost 20x the losses of the Soviet-Afghan war they gave up on in 1989? History is repeating itself.

@@solderdesolder Sorry to have oversimplified in a 3 line KZbin comment. Afghanistan has been in a nearly continuous conflict since the 1970s. It wasn't peace, Soviet-Afghan War, peace. The Soviet-Afghan war was a decade within the overall era. Point being that the superpower Russian army could not overtake the mujahideen who had support from countries like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, USA, etc. What it means is that as long as a dedicated group inside an invaded country is supported, the invader will eventually realize the futility of its ways.

Mainly because the team doesn't exactly agitate for change within Russia. Because their content is largely meant for a foreign audience, they present little risk for the regime, so Russia instead focuses its resources on persecuting its political opposition.
