She also always wanted to die, leaving the name of Kenpachi in his hands (Finally). But nothing indicates that she couldn't dodge his strike and just cut his head off. While normally it seemed like he just got stronger every time he was on the edge of death and actually became stronger then her after 2000 death's. But I don't think so. It's hard to grasp when her whole mission was to die. To me it looked like she lowered her guard and died with pride. Felt that he became stronger and thought that this is her moment to just die. It's a different story to compare his Ban-Kai to her Ban-Kai but the thing is.. Zaraki is probably a demon and his Zanpakutõ is probably not even a Zanpakutõ at all. He's the closest thing to a manifestation of hell we have gotten. So yeah Zaraki is just broken but Unohana might be one of the strongest shinigami to ever exist while Zaraki simply is a Demon.

Kenny was not at all stronger than her at the time so I don’t know what you’re talking about. Tenjiro isn’t part of the ss so idk why you brought him up as he’s of an entire different realm. Also no Shunsuis spiritual pressure isn’t higher than Unohana’s at all. Nor is Jushiros as him and Shunsui are extremely relative without his use of mimihagi. The statement of Unohana being the strongest would apply to every captain. So this means both Shunsui and Jushiro, specially Shunsui by the end of tybw as well. He has not trained or had any implications or statements to have gotten much stronger after Unohana’s death, nor has he gotten that much stronger since his fight with Stark. Also stop overrating Shunsui’s bankai, all it takes is the use of spiritual pressure to counter the thread cutting act that is forced upon the enemy. The only reason Lille wasn’t able to counter his act was because he doesn’t have high reiatsu compared to other power house characters, plus he’s immortal and was simply trading with hax. Well technically she was no longer a psychopath. She abandoned that path the moment she lost to Zaraki. What you see of Unohana 99% of her screen time *is* the true Unohana; she's kind, affectionate, motherly, and sometimes even girlish. In other words, she's changed over the years. There were many times in the anime where she could have chosen the sword. But instead opted to save others. What we see in Unohana vs Zaraki was still the kind and affectionate Unohana. Because even this time, as she takes up the sword, she's only thinking of saving one person; Zaraki. How? Her death. She should've died at the hands of Zaraki hundreds of years ago. That was her original sin.

She's not a war potential, so Yhwach had methods of dealing with her. Also, no one asked her to sacrifice herself. Shunsui said that he knew one of them would die. In other words, He didn't care who it was. He needed the true Kenpachi to make up for the loss of military power after Yamamoto died. Either Unohana would reclaim her original title and return to being Kenpachi Unohana, or Zaraki would surpass her, unlocking the power Central 46 feared so much. Either way, the Gotei would get their weapon. It's unlikely Shunsui knew she'd go in fully intending to die.

This causes the blood to mix with that of her Zans stomach acid giving it acidic properties that eats through everything. Plus with her Bankai activated, she was healing death-injuries like crazy with Zaraki. She could have done so much just by herself. Understandable why everything happened the way it did with her, but sometimes I feel like we could have gotten a better glimpse into how strong a character is if they weren’t written as dead. Another character I feel like they’re stringing along more than they need to is Hitsugaya. For Captain class, he’s utterly weak but can SHOWS the potential to be strong. Rukia is definitely stronger than Thosiro. Unohana is definitely stronger than Zaraki. Nel is definitely stronger than many others. And there are more. As far as I love many things and characters in bleach, I also feel like many things were left behind in favour of something else that didn't keep up with that loss/hole. Even the "locking plot" is a plot. The real problem is probably because "kenpachi" can be only one (but in the end ichigo is stronger then Zaraki's, so...). Unohana, Isane, Yasochika, and Hanataro, are now legitimate targets, even if Unohana kills loads, you are still looking at losing loads of healers due to soldats targetting every shinigami in the 4th division that isn't Unohana. You are forgetting that members of 4th division tend to be the WORST at fighting. I wouldn't be suprised if Yasochika Iemura's combat skills wouldn't even put him on par with Ichigo Kurosaki during the Agent of the Shinigami arc, and that's before the Gillian showed up.

Realistically? Probably a stylistic choice by Kubo, to add some drama to the scene. It was never drawn that way later (I.e. Vs Quilge). But for an in-universe explanation, maybe it was just blocked by Ichigo's quincy powers. They hadn't awakened yet, and awakened just enough to block the medallion.

I agree. Unohana was sacrificed to the plot, not to Zaraki's, and the hype of the public (mainly kids). She would have indeed recognized the fake Ywach thought reiatsu reading, and she's bloody more rational than Yamamoto. Another plot hole: the stern rittern who takes the shape of Ywach is laying on the ground, after fighting and being defeated by Zaraki, but at the same time he his the fake Ywach. I don't remember any explanation from the manga, but generally speaking, I find it "non consistent". And if anyone did dig enough or simply watched the show /read the Manga for real, should definitely see the plot holes and the wasted opportunities/characters/story development. It's simply inconsistent, from a certain point on. And the last arc is the full manifestation of that.

Kyouraku's #1 mistake in the entirety of the TYBW was to sacrifice either her or Zaraki. It was a gamble with terrible odds that just so happened to pay out. Even though it did, the Gotei lost a monolith in exchange for Zaraki getting the ability to realize his true potential. A shinigami with less raw power than Ichigo in exchange for the greatest swordsmaster in the history of Soul Society and the greatest healer outside of Divine General Kirinji when Zaraki would have still been around regardless is an extremely high cost.

But he wanted to enjoy the fight, so he nerfed himself down to her level to prolong the fight. This is a base form CHILD Zaraki. So yes, that was her main regret, for she did make him weak, ever since their fight Zaraki has always been far weaker than he should be. That's also why Aizen avoided fighting kenpachi but ignored Unohana, he knew what Zaraki full potential actually is, and a prolonged fight with Zaraki he raises himself up or down to match his opponent.
