@smugreptile66954 ай бұрын
The main reason Utahraptor is such a brawlic animal compared to others of its family, is because it was attempting to fill the Apex predator niche. Unlike any other member of its family. The morphological distinctions of slightly smaller arms and larger jaws proportionally to other raptors shows they were headed to the big head little arms strat perfected by the mega theropods like Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus. This gives us a small-medium carnivore transitioning into a medium-large carnivore. While they never quite made it there, these weren't animals to mess with. When you have raptors every bit as large as the biggest species of Ceratosaurus, which on its own is on par weight wise with grizzly and polar bears, you know you are dealing with a whole different kind of beast.

The raptors were based off deinonychus for the book and film. Their reasons are different for why though. Crichton had none and Spielberg requested them to be bigger because he wasn’t “impressed” by the Deinonychus size and increased it more in the movies. Utahraptor isn’t involved. In fact while building the raptor animatronics the Utahrapator was discovered. It had no influence, just happy coincidence that the discovery happened while the movie’s raptors were finishing being built.

Just because the Utahraptor is bigger than the Velociraptor doesn't make it just a bigger Velociraptor, both have their own uniqueness. while watching this i thought of the meme of the two wrestlers. the one in front (the laughing one) being the indoraptor being all cocky about being the strongest raptor, and the one behind (the menacing one) being the utahraptor

Fun fact, for everybody, Utah raptor was actually what the Jurassic Park raptors were based off of for the filming. Robert Baker actually talks about this in his book Raptor Red, where everybody was concerned during the films development because no raptor at the time existed that met the size and dimensions of what Spielberg wanted for the movie raptor. My machinist instructor also gave me an account when he was working for Don Burge doing welding for dinosaur skeleton displays where they were meeting with him and asking and showing Class sizes for the upcoming movie raptors and he looked at it and said no those claws are too small or something to that effect. Gojicenter, if you want me to I can copy the Pages in the book with respect to Robert T Baker’s Utahraptor use in Jurassic Park, giving credit to Robert T Baker as it is actually his book Of course, and email it to you in a PDF. I recommend everybody read it as it’s a really good novel from the perspective of Utahraptor.

Its size was indeed based on utahraptor but the other features were mostly based off of deinonychus as stated in the video

But Utahraptor wasn't discovered until after the filming of the movie.
@taylorroberts82884 ай бұрын
@@Auzzy_1000 remains were actually discovered first in the eighties but they were unnamed at that point and more remains were discovered during the filming and we officially recognize something new. In the above mentioned book Robert Baker received phone call from a fellow paleontologist (I’m away from home so I can’t get the name currently) and when he explained what he had found, Robert T Baker was screaming, you found Spielberg‘s monster! It’s actually a really cool and interesting personal account from Robert T Baker. The book itself is highly recommended. I’ve enjoyed it a lot. If you want I can e-mail the pages of the account to you as there a very interesting read. Take care my friend.

I have been waiting for this video, and I'm really glad that gojicenter has covered Utah raptors! I just love Utah raptors because even with the historically accurate Utah Raptor, they were still absolute units! In my eyes, Utah Raptors are basically the terminator's of raptors. I always love seeing these videos, so thank you, and keep up the great work!

In America it isn't uncommon to hear the american bison referred to as a buffalo, so probably it's just a regional thing, or due to the obvious fact that coyotes don't live in Africa

The Utahraptor is shaping up to be quite an impressive specimen of the Dromaeosauridae family of theropod dinosaurs. Thank you Goji Center for sharing this terrifying yet interesting information and speculation with us!!!!!!!! P.S. On a side note, I always wondered, since the Velociraptors in the Jurassic franchise were so similar to and modeled after Deinonychus, and the crew that worked on these films knew of their existence, why didn't they just refer to them as Deinonychus instead of Velociraptor? It would have at least been presented as a little more realistic and it would have been better suited to the creatures in question, moreover alot of past debates within the fandom could've been avoided lol.

Why she's stronger than the real life one
@carnogamerx4 ай бұрын
@@SpinoEditz1224 Rexy has less jaw power than his real counterpart, and the real T Rex is more robust and somewhat heavier than Rexy. Also, Rexy should be dead at her age, she will be 36 years old and the maximum age estimates for a real tyrannosaurus is 28 to 30 years (where it takes 20 years to reach her adult size, and Rexy arrived at 5 years old) (all this according to current estimates, obviously), and Rexy has fought quite a bit.
@SpinoEditz12244 ай бұрын
@carnogamerx rexy has stronger jaws as the indominus rex who can crush a gyrosphere with her bite and the gyrosphere glass, which is stated in the Claire novel to be stronger than any steel and the ankylosauruses tail club which I'm the wiki is stated to have a swing force of 400 megapascals which is 26 tons of force could barely scratch the gyrosphere and yet the indom crushed it with her jaws logically meaning indominus rex has a bite force Iof over 26 tons and rexy in 2015 had ragged tooth infection and rexy even with infection was stated to have a stronger bite force than indominus rex and rexy in dominion was about 10 tons the real life one 11 but having a wieght advantage really isn't helping irl rex as rexy is still way more pysically stronger than irl rex And it is stated that rexes can live over 100 years in jurrasic guide books
