I think that Vegito would be too prideful to defuse. It's Vegeta that wanted to never fuse again, and Goku who wanted to fuse because he knew they needed to. Vegito, being his own new being, probably wouldn't want to disappear.

I like that answer, to add to it though: I feel like Vegito would never defuse because of a mix of Vegeta's Pride and Goku's sense of Duty. Vegito is the most powerful being ever shown in Dragon Ball, he is a perfect melding of mind, body, and spirit for the two most powerful Sayians that have ever been. I could see Vegito toying with the though of diffusion during the peace time between the end of the Buu Saga and the arrival of Beerus, but after finding out that there are other Universes and literal GODS of destruction that inhabit them, splitting would be out of the question due to the threats presented with Beerus' arrival.

I agree with this, especially if we are talking about after the meeting with Beerus. That would be about 2 years after the events of Buu Saga, maybe more. That's a lot of time of Vegito being his own thing. Vegeta and Goku as separate persons might be just background noise.

Diamonddeath I don’t think this would happen, Vegito is a character who is cocky but only when he knows he can be. He was a character who knew exactly what to do and when to act serious. The only reason he acted cocky with Buu was because he wanted to piss buu off until he could be absorbed by him in person. But he knew exactly what to do when to do it, and he knew exactly when to be cocky and how to be cocky. He wouldn’t have been prideful about wanting to stay fused, he would most likely decide to defuse knowing it was the right thing to do for everyone. Meaning Vegito would not want to defuse, he would prefer to. And as mentioned in this video, Vegito doesn’t have goku and vegeta’s personality, he actually has his own personality.

Most people: "They're fused forever? How does their consciousness work? Do Goku's mind and Vegeta's mind still exist separately or have they been fused into one mixed bag of sentience? I'm pretty sure their minds fuse as well with how well they were able to move around and think properly, if they both had their minds in the same head they couldn't function as a person properly because of how differently they act and move as themselves. As for the personalities I think it's taking the best/dominate parts of both and putting them together, because they were both full blooded saiyans they are extremely over confident with their power but also had Gokus calm nature along with Vegetas experience as a warrior which complements both. As for who they will fuck, it's obvious they will be constantly having three ways with how they fought over whose husband was better that one time.

I think of Vegito as an individual, a single person with his own mind. I imagine he wouldn't split since it's essentially suicide. Plus we all know how obsessed Saiyans are with being powerful, he'd def want to keep his ultimate form. I imagine at this point he wouldn't even think of himself as two people, he sees himself as "Vegito" and not a fusion.

After 4+ years I'd wonder if Vegito would want to defuse. At that point he'd have grown into an individual, and with the power lust from both Goku and Vegeta's original personalities he might stay fused on the basis of his sheer strength alone. There might be pressure from others to defuse but neither Goku nor Vegeta give into pressure easily so I'm not sure even that would have an effect. Also seeing the interactions between Future Trunks and Vegito would be a fun twist.

I don't think Vegetto would defuse. I think Bulma talks to Whis how to undo the fusion.Whis says he has an answer but it comes with a price - a deliciouse one. After he and Beerus ate a whole dinnertable full of food, they tell her that they could use the Dragonballs to separate them. Bulma talks with ChiChi about it and they decide to wish them apart. Shenron is summoned and they say:" We wish that the fusion that make our husbands into one man to be over". The mighty dragon replys:" The wish cannot be granted. Both Goku an Vegeta don't want to be split. Do you have another wish?". Then Mr.Satan rushes to the place and demands that Good Buu should be revived. His wish is granted and both Bulma and ChiChi are upset with the results.

Ya and? Vegeta is a genius compared to Goku and yet most of the time it's Goku's personality that shines through most, Will and Smarts are not the same thing. Bulma is constantly scared and having others do most of the work for her which I wouldn't really consider as 'Strong Willed', Chi-chi on the other hand is a fighter and went for what she wanted herself with out any fear. I would think they would be a great combination, not really getting all that much stronger but it's still a perfect match up of brains and brawn. Not like that matters though seeing as they would just be there to invent things and pump out babies like Toriyama intended all women to do in DBZ.

I don’t think Ultra Instinct would be realized as easily as it was in Super. Vegito wouldn’t fall to Jiren so easily like Goku did, so it’s anyone’s guess if Vegito in SSB Kaioken X20 would be able to knock him out or not.

During their training with Whis, he clearly states that they are each other's opposites (not on these words). Judging by Vegetto's fights against Super Buu and Zamasu, he falls in between both personalities. He's cocky (vegeta) but just enough because he know's what he's doing (goku). I vaguely remember seeing somewhere Beerus looking at SSB Vegetto and saying something like him being the real Super Saiyan God, but I may be wrong.

Dude there is so much more you can do with. Like when vegito and Beerus fight, vegito pushed Beerus to a limit where he uses hakai, whis notices this and takes them to a proper arena to fight to prevent destruction. They fight equally. This forces vegito and Beerus to train together under whis. Further on vegito unlock vegito blue and Beerus ULTRA INSTINCT because he was finally being pushed to his limits despite being a God.

I think it doesn't matter whether they stay fused or not. With the time spent together brought them closer together and more in sync, making a un-fused duo much stronger. Or the fused duo would simply be powerful enough to deal with most threats on his own (with Vegeta taking out most of Goku's big flaws). Cant wait for Vegeto blue kai-o-ken.

I'd say they'd stay fused. Vegeta who was scared of Beerus would be pretty psyched that his current form could match him and I don't think Goku would want to handicap himself just as he gets the opportunity to fight stronger guys. Though you did gloss over something pretty important. Bulma and Chi Chi.... their reactions to this would be interesting... Maybe Chi Chi likes this form better than Goku, maybe she gets pregnant again. Maybe even Bulma does too leading to a bitter rivalry of Vegettos' wives. Well, the keyword there was 'selfish', as in, by themselves. Both Vegeta and, to a less vocal extent, Goku hate having to rely on another's powers, almost to the point of risking assured destruction. Goku just so happened to be altruistic enough in the past to understand when he needs to do what's necessary and, with enough poking and prodding, even Vegeta knows when to swallow at least a little of his pride and take one for the team. And this is all before Toei really started playing up Goku's base saiyan/selfish nature. We saw how hard it was to get Vegeta to agree to the fusion when it was just him being stubborn. Now Goku is only about a step above him in heroism, even he's in the "I'm only doing this because I really, really have to" boat. So now we got two of the most strong willed personalities in universe 7 stuck in a situation neither one really wants to be in; I mean: Vegeta having to share a body with Kakorot, both consciousness are fully aware that there power was only manifested because of the fusion and not as a result of dedication and training, and not to mention, Vegito would have no real rivals. Yeah there's Whis and Beerus as benchmarkers, but trying to call either one a rival is like a novice martial artist calling Jet Li their rival. Yeah, they may make the best of it and rationalize it so that it doesn't feel so hopeless, but if given a way out, you can bet they're gonna take it with little to no hesitation, especially if they know they could just do it again if the need arises.

Call it selfish if you will but I don't imagine that Vegito would defuse because, potara fusion would have the two of them talking in his mind, (even if that is how TFS will probably do fusion) it combines them and leaves an entirely new entity if the personalities are equal in strength, which Goku's and Vegeta's would be, making Vegito his own person. Meaning that if he defused that would equal nonexistence for him, which is a terrifying thought for anyone.

One problem with your analysis about the Potara knowledge to the Kais, Masako; it wasn't Shin who failed to realize there was a time limit, but the Elder Kai. Now, it could be said that he simply (conveniently) forgot, as he is rather aloof, or that he came from an age where perhaps no mortal had ever tried using it before and the knowledge of it being temporary with mortal mixes was simply discovered later on down the line, but that's about it.

Here's the problem. Would they have achieved SSJ Blue without their rivalry? In Super, Vegeta went first in order to catch up to Goku who, at minimum maintained a power boost from the God form. Goku follows, because it's a cool idea. Fused, Vegetto already has that boost and no incentive to train with Whis. Vegeta attempting to surpass Goku is what's driven them for so long. They still have their Saiyan drive, but without a rival to surpass, I don't think they'd train as hard.

if I can add the two cents joke. if Vegetto stayed fused, to whom would he be married? goku's wife? vegeta's wife? bigamy anybody? would trunks and goten become brothers? there's also another important matter. as seen in DBZ (when goku was given the potara) even if you remove them you stay fused and somebody else can use them. so, what would happen if vegetto potara fused with mystic gohan? how powerful would they become? but the killer question is... what if goten and trunks used the regular fusion and then while fused used the potara to fuse with gohan? what would happen once the regular fusion between goten and trunks ends? what if the potara fusion between gotenks and mystic gohan potara fused with vegetto? would anybody dream of defeating such an absurdly powerful warrior? what if he became a ssj blue or, even worse, attained ultra instinct? oh my god. a fusion between goku, vegeta, gohan, goten and trunks using ultra instinct. would there be any god able to defeat him/them/it/whatever?

Not sure if you would actually call it a recton since nothing was truly explained when they defuse. When they split, Goku just made a guess and moved on without questioning it. Even it were the case, the risk factor of staying together forever is nulled by the Dragonballs. Heck in one of the video games on the PSP (Dragonball Z Shin Budokia), if you played Vegito,his ending he used the Dragonballs to defused. Now in the Super it's confirmed that they can defuse by using the Namekian Dragonalls. On top of the Super Dragonballs even.

When they brought in the DBs people thought that was an explanation for how they could defuse in the future, if Vegito showed up, and when he did show up they threw in a retcon so Trunks could be the hero.

Basically I remember hearing that in another interview he talked about the exact differences between Potara and Fusion Dance. I can't remember what article it was (I'll look it up later) But basically Fusion Dance results in a more perfect fusion because of how in sync the fusees have to be. But Potara fusion results in a (in the article it was back during Z so no potara retcon) Permanent fusion making it more useful for combat.

You know what would have been sick actually? I think it would have been awesome if we got a full range of Vegito's powers. Like he starts off in base form and see how he does. Then super sayian, then super sayain 2, then 3. And here's where it get's interesting. Then there could have been something hinted at super sayain 4. What would happen is, as he is powering up stronger and stronger past 3, we start to see glimpses of the great ape denoting sayian heritage and transformation, but then all of a sudden he stops, realizing that he's expending too much power, goes back to base form, then does his god transformations as per normal. What do you guys think?

vegito and beerus would probably have a conversation about the earrings, like beerus would wonder why they stayed fused for so long, and tell them that it would normally last an hour. then vegito would be wondering if there were any exceptions, and beerus would tell them that it would only be permanent if they were some kind of god or something, which would make for a pretty interesting conversation.

after resurrection of f vigeto keeps training do to the goku side of things with whis. universe 6 comes blah blah blah challegend to a universal battle vigeto in his form toys with the weak figters of unverse 6 while buu sleeps and piccolo going at it hit comes along and is like fight me they fight for ten seconds when hit destroys vigeto then adapts to the range and goes blue hit then comes in for a attack where vigeto completely see through it and destroys hit then falls out while champa IS FURRIOS vigeto confronts champa and zeno comes along like that was fun but instead of goku shaking hand with zeno no response is there zeno goes home and vigeto has a nice sandwich when Zamasu comes along like hey im powerful and messes with future trunks future trunks then comes back seeking help from the past he sees vigeto and is like what are you future trunks explains his situation black then comes through and sees vigeto waiting unpleased black moves in for a attack when vigeto just mocks him while he try's to attack black moves back through the portal and goes back to talk with zamasu vigeto then go to the future and fights black when he turns rose vigeto laughs and absolutely destroys black and kills him dead zamasu sees what happend but vigeto aint having it zamasu explains everything vigeto then goes back to the past to learn the mafuba traps zamasu while beerus kills zamasu in the other timeline (for plot convenience ) zeno remebers the tourney and they assemble the 10 fighters vigeto buu freiza gohan piccolo roshi krillin 18 17 tien vigeto gets to fight universe 7 with gohan and buu as they destroy universe 9 in the pree tourney tourney no one blaming anyone. universe 7 toys with 9 the tournament begins with jiren taking notice in vigeto early on universe 9 bombard vigeto knowing what he is capable of. vigeto destroys the entire universe this makes a statement later on in the tourney vigeto face cabba and kale with the ssj transformation vigeto then proceed to take them on as students kale turns to broly out of jellousy vigeto then toy with kale stage is now inveloped with rocks vigeto then fights dyspo trying to take on hit but hit is almost and vigeto saves hime and destroys dyspo jiren is completely stunned as dyspo is knocked off. jiren vs vigeto jiren and vigeto perfectly match evryone stops fighting to watch the two go at it keep in mind in this virsion krillin never is knocked off because of vigeto nor tien either, jiren barley takes down vigeto but vigeto gets up and uses kaio ken jiren is knocked off toppo is mad toppo comes at vigeto and vigeto knocks him off as well universe 11 is down the other universes terror in fear they all gang up on vigeto wile the rest of universe 7 wipes the rest vigeto takes the tourney and every universe is wiped. universe 7 flawless victory too be continued Continued Caulifa and kale fuse and vigeto is not having it and takes her down

Calum the Ultimate sloth Yep, Vegito would adapt to all the techniques Goku and Vegeta have done. For all we know, Vegito can straight up go Kaioken times 20 and completely outclass Jiren. Hell, Vegito in SSB is stronger than Beerus. So imagine a 20 times Kaioken SSB Vegito. Jiren wouldn't last at all.
