Deltarune 3 looks amazing I can’t believe Tony Fox decided to go from pixel art to filming an actual movie, I think it's bold of Tony to reveal Gaster so soon since there's like 5 chapters left, and I can't believe Gaster was actually a sheep in wolfs clothing the whole time, could this mean he is actually the secret 5th member of the Dreemur family

turning a powerful boss into a harmless sheep? I'll have to remember that one if I ever play DnD again. wait, if this emperor is still a sheep when it's boss fight time, that means that the game saved the effects done to him instead of just resetting him after he left. I like that, both because it keeps things consistent between encounters, which is very important in games like this, but also that sounds like it has lots of potential for shenanigans, even beyond sheepifying potential threats.

The way this game seems to handle the process of saving and loading information feels like a terrifying nightmare, but it does, oddly, seem to result in a lot of things being 'remembered' when they probably shouldn't be. By this I mean, when I hit the "load" button, even if the file I'm loading back to is 1 second ago, I can hear the sounds of all the status effects un-applying themselves one by one, and sometimes catch snippets of it in the chatlog... which... feels odd? Like, if we're re-loading the game, you don't need to un-polymorph the Emperor, delete him, recreate him, and re-polymorph him... do you....? This code feels like cthulu-code to me. It is gloriously unstable.

Yes and no, Polymorph is supposed to last for 5 turns. The reason this works (or, works without me being a speedrunner) seems to be that, the turn counter only ticks down if time is moving for the target, not the caster. So because the Emperor leaves the scene the moment you cast it, he functionally stops 'existing' within the game's clock, until the cutscene. And because the cutscene takes place on it's own map right before the battle starts, you should always have the same number of turns, no matter how slowly your journey to reach the brain. Although if they ever did make it a true feature, I'd love to see them actually center the sheep on the back of the dragon, haha. That would be amazing.

I kept trying to give the Emperor chances to come clean, about his ilithid nature... about his backstory, but he never let up on the manipulation tactics, not even for a second. I still don't understand his game plan here though... How can joining the Netherbrain ever be a good idea for him....? He'd rather be a thrall than trust me for a single moment?

@@HalfBreadChaos Because in the end it was all for the grand design, he tried very hard on turning you into an ilithid, there is even an ending where he betrais you and takes control over the netherbrain, *his past self* is long gone... Only some memories remain, and even he sais that all he has done was "necessary", because yeah, he can't complete the grand design if he is dead... I was really happy about what happens in the bad DUrge ending, I would do anything to see his fake sad face again, blood going down his body... I think a bit of DUrge sticked with me after that run...

@@Exxyo Ohh! I don't know why it didn't occur to me that he's doing the Durge-plan from the beginning! (E.g. his plan was never 'defeat the brain.' His end goal is, and always was, 'dominate the brain and rule the world.') Nm that checks out. It explains the many, many times he responds to certain scenarios with a sort of "if I can't win, neither can you," response.

@@HalfBreadChaos Yup, the only thing that goes against that is that there are some endings where you defeat the brain and the emperor is still by your side, but the only time I saw that was when I became Ilithid and then offed myself cuz my love (Karlach) died at the end of my first run so I had nothing to live for (on top of having become an ilithid), the ending of my first run was hella dramatic ngl

@@frozenwings2148 Ah, the algorithm isn't pleased, but it's not punishing me as harshly as I anticipated. I imagine as it picks up on the fact I am making bg3 content for a few months, it will draw in more fans of that game, and potentially offset the initial decrease in pace. But, in truth, it would be greater self-game-end if I tried to keep making UT/DR content during such a drought, when I'm clearly experiencing burn out. Better to follow my Heart and give into the [HORRIBLE BRAIN WORMS] so I can pick it back up with renewed enthusiasm when chapter 3 comes out. My SOUL belongs to Undertale and Deltarune, but for now, my brain is infected by BG3.

If your entire audience is subscribed to you for one thing (like 'Deltarune') and you start suddenly uploading a lot of videos that aren't on that topic, they may unsubscribe, or the algorithm may notice that fewer of your core-audience members are watching your videos, which can lead to the youtube algorithm destroying your channel. But the opposite can also happen. The algorithm may notice that it's just a shift and topic, and thus draw in people who otherwise didn't know of your channel through said new topic.
