Just north of the Martian equator lies a 45 km (28 mi) wide impact crater that scientists believe may have been the site of an ancient lake. Here at Jezero Crater, scientists theorize that its frozen soil may contain the most significant discovery of humankind, life. On February 18th, 2021, NASA's Perseverance rover will search this crater to find out if we're truly alone. What is the likelihood of life on Mars? How would the Mars landing be? What you didn't say in the video was that only one Viking mission lander was equipped to test for life. Meaning on the second mission, they omitted the same life finding tests that would have confirmed the first test. So, this amounts to default by omission. It's what you do when you purposely do not want to verify your first test result that confirmed life..

Life forms on earth are carbon based. Carbon is the most essential element of life. But what if the life form on other planets are based on any different kind of element like silicon, it even shares many characteristics with carbon the life form based on silicon will be primitive but still it might be possible. Second is boron, it's polymerization ability is not as good as carbon but still can sustain life if provided with perfect condition's. Earth is at the safe distance from sun in which a carbon based life can sustain and here we are all carbon based life forms.
