Beleive it or not I had a fulll section written out on how Drones and Loitering Munitions were the new artillery here (alongside actual artillery), but we scrapped it for time. Also, Orbital Bombardment was meant to be the Zeppelin and Airplane bombing analogs, but otherwise you are right!

@@buddermonger2000 Mostly stuff that became staples of warfare after WW1 becoming too costly to use as intended like Tanks and modern fighters. I should elaborate that I don't think things like Tanks are done away with entirely, because there is no other platform to do the job as well as they can. But this doesn't mean that tanks wouldn't also be too costly to use as intended. It simply means the job they are intended to do doesn't get done, and that many of the big bad Cold War weapons platforms. Basically it's that anti-X weapons platforms will be cheaper to manufacture and distribute than it is to build the monsters they are fighting. This leads to a dynamic where infantry with automatic weapons become kings of the battlefield again. Basically, I'm applying what's going on in Ukraine (and what we were seeing hints of this throughout the 21st century) to this scenario. TL;DR: It's largely economics. The idea is that the resources and industries needed to sustain the advanced machinery will not be able to keep up with demand as global chains break down. So cheaper, simpler systems win out.
