You need to mention the concept of using tax advantaged accounts BEFORE opening a taxable account or crypto. If you do this with a Roth IRA, you never pay taxes on the gains.

I’m 18 and just opened up my Webull account and started doing the same thing with VOO. Currently got $30 in. Can’t wait to be 3 years in and at this point. At some point when you want to sell how would taxes work? Would you stop buying $5 a day for a year to then have long term capital gains tax advantage? Or would you just sell?

Look into opening a Roth IRA. If you are patient, when you are in your 60's, you will NEVER pay any taxes on the gains.

If you’re only going to invest $5 a day, I’d much rather invest into the cryptos that are under $1 such as SHIB or Doge. You’ll always get the upside benefit and if the coins ever reach $1 long term years from now, you’ll be accumulating a ton of the coins that could potentially be life changing eventually down the road. Every day you’re buying several of the coins for years but just imagine if the coins ever reach $1 or $10 or $100. That’s going to be insane. Compared to buying a coin like Bitcoin or ethereum that’s already tens of thousands of dollars. You’ll still experience growth with Bitcoin and ethereum but the long term potential won’t be as huge as something like SHIB or Doge investing the same $5 a day. $5 a day is going to take you significantly further with something like SHIB than it would something like Bitcoin or ethereum.
