What would make it into true perspective as we see? Fish eye but with the dots way outside the working area? Or something less than that?

We see in an incredibly wide angle lens. Our vision is nearly 180 degrees, which means we see in fish-eye. It's just our brain automatically "fixes" the image so straight lines look straight. Screens, being limited, can't show our field of vision without warping it.

I once actually did the fish eye. I was studying architecture, we had a field trip to a Mies van der Rohe building, and we were told to get us an interesting spot and start drawing. I sat down in front of a long straight wall, looking straight perpendicular at it. The room was empty and didn't had any furniture in it. Since I didn't want to draw just two parallel lines and call it a day, I choose to draw a fish eye perspective, so I can also draw both ends of the room on my left and on my right. The lecturer who was with us told me to stop drawing it like that because it's "wrong". That's how you see if someone is teaching architecture more in the engineering way or the artist way.
