What is a 2x4 in Interceptive Ortho? Phase 1 Braces Explained

My daughter is 12. She has 1 front protruding tooth and gaps between the others. She is about to lose her 2 upper canines and lost the molars adjacent to the canine on both sides about a month ago. She got braces on just her upper 4 front teeth and they used a TPA on the molars to hold the wiring. She is struggling with it in regards to tongue pain and eating. I know there's alot happening in her mouth right now but do you think it would be worth bringing up at her next appointment the possibility of brackets on the molars or just the bands without the arch? Or does it sound the the arch is needed

It can take several weeks at least to get used to a TPA so best to try to hang in there and then talk to your doc about options in a few months as needed
