The Council of Trent was the 19th ecumenical council held by Rome from 1545-1563 A.D., where, among other subjects, the canon was once again addressed due to the Protestant reformation. None of the modern canons used by mainstream Christian groups existed during the time of Jesus and the Apostles, even though individual manuscripts of the Hebrew scriptures did exist. Jewish/Hebrew society was a society of oral record and tradition, oration and storytelling are a mostly lost art in modern culture, where writing materials, digital instruments and education is readily available to the masses. The idea that the oldest fragment or manuscript of a particular text is the only indicator of when it was written is a false notion. The grammar, specific words, phrases, or general language, and miscellaneous facts found within can help date the origin of a document to an earlier time than when we have physical evidence. Remember, parchment and papyrus wear out and rot. To supplement a healthy form of faith in the events or data recorded in the general "scriptures," we can also look to exterior testimonies, including but not limited to those that are in the form of records and archaeological findings. All scripture is "God-breathed" = Life-giving? Adam was "breathed into life" by God, yet he was not infallible. The “Bible” is the Book of the Catholic Church. The doctrine of its inerrancy proceeds from the dogma of the Catholic Church. While the leaders of the Church collected and preserved manuscripts from the apostles and their associates, the actual formation of the canon of Scripture did not occur until the Council of Rome 380, the Council of Hippo 393, and the Council of Carthage 397. The ecumenical Council of Trent (1546-1563) reaffirmed the laborious work of the earlier councils. The Catholic Church also adopted the unofficial canon of the Old Testament from the Greek Septuagint. Whether or not one regards the “Bible” to be the inspired Word of God depends largely on the work of the Catholic Church. Jesus himself left no written document of any kind. 😊😊😊

When I got born again, being born of God in the spirit by regeneration, one of many Divine spiritual experiences I had was that I got so thirsty within me of reading the Word of God, the Holy Bible, both New and Old Testaments. My thirst was so deep that as I read the Bible I felt as if I am drinking the the Word of God, the Scriptures, and I was refreshed. Like someone who has not drank a water for days and was given a cool water to drink. This is the evidence that the LORD our God has given me concerning the Scriptures, the Holy Bible. The full details of this testimony is in my website. God bless. 🕊

@@glory1ministries734 and then the Catholic would like to “just add” from John chapter 6:53-58 👍🏻 “Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. @@glory1ministries734 Jesus is the living word. Written texts are, by definition, not living. If one believe so, I reiterate the point of my video: Which texts, which renderings or translations, and do we ignore the factual edits and alterations? Remember, Jesus did not have any "New Testament" texts.

@@exjwbiblebites2883 The Written Word of God is Life, Spirit and Truth to those who are born of God in the spirit and filled with the Spirit of God. But to others they are not, but texts. We do need to feel free to question everything. Whether inspired or not I love the words at 1 John 4:1 . Here's a question - Was the Law done? Matt 5:17-20, Matt 19:16-19/Acts 21: 20-24 Jesus taught his disciples to obey the Law ( the law without what the "lying pen of the scribes" had added to it . Jer 8:8 ) Paul said the law was done. He taught so many things Jesus did not teach. .... not surprising since he never met Jesus and made it clear he didnt want to learn what he taught from his apostles either. Gal 1:12, 2:2b, 6a compare John 17:20
@exjwbiblebites28834 ай бұрын
My time is short, but I will, in brevity, furnish a response in part but not in fullness: Do we follow Paul, or Apollos, or Jesus? What law was fulfilled by Jesus? The law of Moses, the law code written by the hand of man, and the law of sin and of the rule of death was conquered. The Ten Commandments are not the Mosaic law. They are eternal, they predate Moses and Israel, even the Sabbath, the sacred day, the rest day, was founded in the Beginning, after the creative or recreative works. God wrote the Ten Commandments with his finger into stone, Moses was not said to have carved them. It can also be inferred that God wrote the judgement of Babylon on the wall with his finger: You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. Jesus, son of God, wrote before the Pharisees in the sand with his finger. Jesus was not an enemy of the law, but a fulfillment of it. The law of God is love, which is the foundation of all Ten Commandments. I think there is significance here: Out of the Ten Commandments, the only one that seems to draw ire is the rest-day...but few rational minds would question the other 9...and yet, they question the spirit of the 4th...

The jw bound book that they keep changing is called scriptures. It's an ever-changing document that is called a constitution by Geoffrey Jackson.

Hm, perhaps an analogy could be, the Bible is intended to be as a Declaration or Constitution, the premier or supreme law of the governing body, but they bow to their statutes and codes: Watchtower policy.

(ESV) 2Peter 1 is interesting Eyewitnesses of Christ’s Glory For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
@exjwbiblebites28834 ай бұрын
A prophecy spoken by God that came to pass could be considered inspired. Jesus was a prophet of God. Matthew 21:11. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, the real spirit of God, can dwell inside of the children of God, so that we are reborn in spirit as the body of Christ, who is one with his Father, just as we can be one with him. But many false prophets have gone out into the world, who do not speak of God's spirit (the Holy Spirit) but of another. The written texts are secondary, living with and walking with Father is primary, for He is not far off, the curtain was torn asunder. My video was not saying that no part of the Bible is inspired, or prophetic, but that to mature, prudence and discernment is required regarding our view of "scripture."
@katb9454 ай бұрын
@@exjwbiblebites2883 I realised your video was not saying no part of the bible is inspired, my point was that as you said it is about Jesus thus I quoted the scripture as that whole chapter is about Jesus.

The first Jewish priesthood brought and worshipped pagan idols in the temple area. The second priesthood KILLED Jehovahs son. The Third priesthood was prophesied to fail also, to prove Jehovahs was correct in the garden of Eden. There is an “evil slave” in charge. (Matt 24:48-51) He “beats the other slaves” and gets some to follow. (Luke 12:45-48) Upon seeIng this, Jesus orders us to leave and head for the mountains. (Matt 24:15) He says “let the reader use discernment” not listen to a “faithful slave.” Jehovah’s brilliant prophesy only gives us more reason to believe and trust in him.
