I live in sacramento and i have been living here for 3 yrs in march. I have had several problems in this place most of them i fixed myself. But there is a leak in my living room from the air/ heating unit upstairs. And i have a crack in my bathtub that is leaking into my storage unit where a homeless guy was living in for about a year before we moved in. When this leak started i didnt know it was from our bathtub because it was a hairline crack and was unnoticed. He started having breathing problems a staph infection on his neck and rash all over his body. He later died from heart failure.

But i recently got a new landlord and. He is trying to raise my rent from 785 to 1200 without written notice just verbal.

Does this require every state for the landlord , to have the water heater repair if it doesn't work , or to replace an out of date furnace. One tenate ask the landlord to replace her thermostat because of roaches, he told her to do it herself. The guy complains if he has spend money, and he owns several complexes here. He charges like 475.00 a month to tenates and more to others. I have been here nearly 4 years and he only replace a water heater, and it has a warranty of 6 years. It just needs a new burner and pilot. It is one of new flange with a igniter light it if it goes out. It won't stay lit. It is in kentucky.

I lived in my unit for over 12 years, and my Landlord refuses to change the carpet. When I address him on this matter he refuses to acknowlge me. He tells me, to stop arging with him. I need help with this matter. Although, Im disable and unsure of how go about handling this issue.

So if the landlord says we need to remodel the unit, repair etc and THEY DO NOT HAVE HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS, does this give a right to "kindly" evict? We need repairs and updates desperately however, landlord is suggesting we move because she has no where to "put us". This has been my grandparents home for 15 yrs. 😒 shes been wanting my grandpa out although he keeps to himself and pays rent ontime with no issues.

I have a pretend manager of a mobile home slash farmworker community with six to eight two people at any given time and I was given a 3 day notice after less than a month of actually moving in but what's promising is my diligence with video Journal daily photo Journal extraordinary it's just a matter of being able to afford the attorney fortunately the fee waiver service has given me this ability once more to Prevail in a civil matter matter not to exceed 25,000 again sincerely God bless you

I have a question... my shower tub got clogged from my wife's hair and the lanlord wanted to charge me 75 dollars for just taking out the hair clog. Isnt that maintenance like normal wear and use of the shower I mean even with a simple guard hair may still go down and clog... just want a good advice for this please

Just get a barbed clog remover tool and do it yourself! I have loooong hair and remove it from the drain myself

If the tenant had been living in the house for 18 months already before the new landlord took over. Then 6 months later he needs to be evicted for lack of payment and then he claims a slip and fall.

I have a question . Numerous individuals in my apartment building were caught on camera breaking into a couple different apartment buildings inside the building . I was never notified by the landlord of this happening and then my apartment got broken into . During the coronavirus pandemic they say they can’t evict anyone but is the landlord responsible for notifying me of such still even during a pandemic ? Does that violate any safety standards . Do I have any case or any such against them

lanlord did not maintain plumbing or do any up grades to condo ..over many years.....which caused major water leak and damage to ...next condo door over..... land lord said needs to increase rent after repairs ... to cover costs ...is this ok ....

My landlord had people come and check the house and they found asbestos in the attic and I called and told her. they also said the heater and the water heater need to be replaced. Now she told me she is raising my rent and if I don't like it to move out, but I live in a duplex and she hasn't raised their rent only mine can she do this. She is mad because she has to fix things.

What about the carpet? I was hoping you’d answer that question. I am a tenant with 40+ year old carpet in one room, loose carpet on the stairs that has caused people to fall, and living room carpet showing bare floor between the seams. Can I make my landlord replace it? How long does he have to get repairs done?

Hi,I'm in California and I'm moving into a trailer park and there is a dangerous tree that is right above the trailer I bought. Management said they were looking into tree bids for the whole park, I understood that they would be responsible for the tree trimming. This was months before I bought the trailer. I asked management multiple times about it and never said it was my responsibility till last minute. Now I have till the end of this week to move out of my current apartment. Now management wants to make me responsible for tree trimming. I'm going to rent the space starting September. I dont know how to approach this situation. Something doesn't feel right. I feel that if I would have to take care of a huge massive tree at least management should give me the rental space in safe conditions so I can move in with my family and therefore I can maintain the tree when necessary. Anyone here know the law ? I've tried searching it online but it is so confusing.
