Thanks man :) yeah really only place to find out is on forums or by reading the supported devices lists on each boxes site. Generally nowadays, none really do all FRP bypass for Samsung (better off paying a remote service fee), if you spend more and get a “jtag” style box (Medusa pro looks good or Easy jtag plus) you’ll be able to do more because then you’ll have access to jtag and ICSP for chip on or off data recovery, hardware level boot loader unlocking and FRP removal.

IMEI flashing is not just for dodgy people... In many cases carriers discriminate against certain kinds of phones on plans... and allow features for one make but not another. Some phones come with different privileges which I think is dodgy. This is a handy feature to get a good handset away from service restrictions, at least in the USA where if you buy data, they only want you to use that data in certain amounts in certain ways. Example... Tmobile sold a phone plan that was $30 for 5 gig data with unlim text and no calls... but if you put that sim in a tablet or smart phone it would not work. It was only a marketing gimmick for flip phones and other dumb devices. I think it was a price point for marketing purposes because it served no useful purpose. I put the sim in a foreign phone and it worked great. I later rewrote the IMEI in a tablet and it was a great 5 gig tablet plan with unlim SMS. Also this was 5 years ago... which made it an excellent data plan.

I have been looking to get more into cell phone repair and wanted to add unlocking as a service. The one type of unlock I'm having the hardest time finding is lockscreen, finger print locks, etc. I'm wondering if there's an up to date software or tool i can invest into to remove someone's password without having to factory reset the device? For laptops this is so simplistic that you can make a bootable that does it for you, I'm digging to finding the android and IOS equivalent. I tried a few softwares out there, but they prove to be a waste of time and money, but don't figure that out into your past the paywall.

An interesting discussion. I have tried the software approach to unlocking from my Service Network. An on line supplier presented an unlock code which wasn't successful. Eventually I was able to get the network unlock code from the network operator and they supplied the same code. I understand that too many incorrect tries will lock my phone ( Samsung ALPHA G 850). and this has not yet happened. What may be the problem here and should I try a hardware route. I don't want to risk damage to the phone and its contents.

Depends what you want to do, chimeria is expensive and uses credits a lot Octoplus is alright but you need to buy the frp tool seperate. You can also pay for remote factory services. Miraclebox is good for Samsung and oppo and some others
