Your intro shows exactly why 99% of E46s are beaten to death.

Yup the shelf life of the 90s and early 2000s cars are up. You are better off shilling out more for something nice, and still be willing to spend money on a "light resto". Gonna be interesting what cars are going to replace some absolute tanks (4th gen camry) in the "cheap" aspect
@M-t3chАй бұрын
@BeatersAndCompany Exactly! I like that term you used "shelf life." 20 years seems to be the turning point in any car's life cycle where it then starts to fall apart. I'm also curious to see what cars replace the 90s and early 2000s cars. I still love my 4th gen Camry.

@M-t3ch i know they have already gotten some traction, but still considered the "ugly economy car" by most, the Honda Fit! Hope to see a 'Hot Take' from you on the Fit!

Reminds me a lot of my e46 I paid $650 there was a lot wrong and previous owners didn’t take care of it but engines been replaced trans has been repaired working on a little electrical now along with the interior and rehauled the entire cooling systen in the end these cars are worth fixing
@mikefortune9217Ай бұрын
Just gave you the car without fixing anything and wanted you to fix and replaced every part yourself. That's how selling cars work basically. They aren't going to fix anything for you they just want the money $$$!!!
@M-t3chАй бұрын
@ashfalcon2617 A lot of them are worth fixing! Goodluck with your project. We are going to use the transmission from this car for an e36.

$600 e36... Cooling System, Power Steerings, Suspension, AC, Clutch, Belts, Pulleys, Tensioners, all hoses, door cards, Clutch, tires, rust, paint, plastic bits, plus whatever is broken... They are great cars and relatively inexpensive to bring back to new and maintained but you aren't doing it with no money. 328 is the right platform for racecar. The M3 is a far better car but you will cry when you crash it. I'm surprised you got that car legal on the street unless you swapped plates and are driving dirty.
@M-t3chАй бұрын
@robertfontaine3650 I'd rather restore an e36 as a beater over an e46. That said, it's mostly a time thing. Between finishing school and the M3, this car seems like the easy choice to axe. If it ran better or even wasn't as rusty, we'd potentially keep it as a beater, but it needs more TLC than it's worth.
