As a Christian, I have wondered if astrology is okay, my logic behind it was maybe God has left us some messages in the stars to let us tell the times. To me it doesn't seem too far-fetched. Part of this was because of the story of the Magi. But I understand that God can use evil to accomplish good, and does it all the time. But then part of me wonders why is it evil if God put the stars in the sky to tell the Magi to follow them?

The way I've had it explained to me by my Mom who talked about it with an old timey, old fashioned pastor friend is, "God never said it wasn't possible, He said DON'T".Our future as christians is in his hands and we need to trust what will happen to God. Why look to creation ( and make an idol out of it inadvertently) when you can go to the Creator who calls Himself our Heavenly Father and wants only the best for us?

The "magick is not real" part of the interview around 25:00 is ignoring a very crucial point. Though God is not the one responding to magick, others entities are and it's very real. This is exactly why people keep doing it. Saying it's not real when people have tangible proof that it works will only make people think you don't know what you are talking about and encourage them to keep practicing. We wrestle against the powers of darkness, not imaginary ideas.

Yes, translations can be, and often are a bit unfortunate since we can lose a lot of layers (gamatria would be one obvious example) but it still describes the event wouldn't you agree? Any person will add a different set of attributes to a word such as "witch" but in this case it describes what today we would call a "medium" (most translations go with this, and some combine it with spiritists), ie. someone that communicates with a deceased person (or some other disembodied entity). Ultimately the word itself does not change the passage even for someone using KJV since her role is followed by description. Also, there are quite a few persons that would call themselves a witch that operate as mediums and some will say a wessel, so what they do is more important than the name one uses, no?

I’m interested in using witchcraft for good also, specifically for cleansing and as a physical part of prayer. Even as a nonbeliever I found white sage to have a very uplifting effect on my environment. Catholics in Europe specifically have used rue to cleanse. In the Bible god gave a recipe for smoke cleansing. Witchcraft isn’t always trying to control an outcome that is against god’s will. It can be using medicinal plants that god gave us in ritual to clear the air of the unseen realm. We’re interacting with it whether we acknowledge it or not. Some with the gift and knowledge do so more directly.

I appreciate the conversation, and the willingness to address this, as it is a startlingly real aspect in what is happening in churches around the world these days--both in the membership and coming from the pulpit. We absolutely MUST stay in the word of God and continue praying for wisdom and discernment from the Holy Spirit. Every one seems to be searching for that 'secret' that gets us 'closer to God', and they seem to be looking everywhere BUT the Bible for the answers. So yeah, I appreciate that there is a continuing effort to open up these lines of discussion. One thing, tho, is I'd certainly appreciate the ability to check out the references and videos ya'll are referring to in regard to what YOU were able to see in preparation for this discussion. You guys have a tendency to open up these topics and start talking about them as if we are all on the same page--but to some of us these are new topics, and we don't all necessarily have the same background info or experiences so I feel like a great deal of what's being discussed goes right over my head. Just curious 🧐 I didn’t ever seem to get a definite a definition for Christian Witch or Christian Witchcraft. I heard a lot of practices mentioned that some witches do not practice. There are a lot of people that practice divination of some sort but I would not consider them witches. It feels like someone came up with an umbrella term and just lumped everything under this term. I have thought that a witch is some one who practices magic. The one war I think the church has lost is the language war. Who defines meaning of words. So I do think it’s important to warn against practices that are forbidden in scripture. Also to broaden the thinking of most Christians so that they know the meaning of words and the differences between how they are used. This is most helpful since we live in a culture that is bombarded with Occult teaching, practices, images, symbols and thinking.

Same here, I think christian wicca is my spiritual gift. I love Jesus and believe in blessings & performing magic (candles) ,intend to do good things. I felt a calling to this after a dream. It probably sounds crazy, but I been praying for my lover (guy), for him to be better, love thy neighbor. I felt like something was wrong when he splited up from him. So I prayed, again, and remember the night before that In my dream, a dark force was taking him away, he was asking for help from Me. So I saw a light trying to save us, then showed a cross ✝️ & some magic symbols. Then I woke up, and next day he split up, (coincidence, or Probably warning from God), so I tried to find info of those symbols. I managed to come across christian wicca, so I got a psychic reading from a caster, saying that a jealous girl did a love spell to break us up, to find out he still loves me. I was furious, as I worked with the caster, I liked it myself and started to use candles myself (white magic) , I read all the warnings, so I dedicated myself to christian wicca, with God & spells to save him.

So this to me is why we need to be more honest about things that we label "works of the holy spirit".... Slaying in the spirit and shaking has no material functionality and is just plain confusing. If you validate this sort of thing in ministering, then you open the door to it's spiritual origins in new age mysticism
@svenwalton13323 жыл бұрын
Your assertion is wrong. "Slaying in the Spirit and shaking has no material functionality..." You have no idea what God is doing in someone or if it is God unless you get discernment from Holy Spirit. I have experienced laughter, shaking, and I have been slain in the Spirit. The fruit was both materially measurable and spiritually as well. the Bible speaks about "unspeakable joy" which actually heals. I have experienced this. There are obvious physical reactions to the presence of God or even angels throughout the Scriptures. Paul was knocked off what he was riding - Israel shook with fear in the Presence of God near the mountain. Choosing to decide what God can and can't do while ignoring the same sort of events in the Bible or by arguing from silence (which is saying that something isn't biblical when it isn't specifically or implicitly prohibited by God Himself because you are uncomfortable with it). You measure things by the objective Word of God and by the fruit of a person's life.
@Stevenw923 жыл бұрын
Slain in the Spirit could be described as "being overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit"... i don't see what's wrong with that? That the presence of God was so strong on a person, that it overwhelmed them.. I think it's almost glorifying for God to be that strong

@@Stevenw92 if you read the book John explains that there’s a time when Holy Spirit does over come people and they fall over/roll/laugh/manifest. Sometimes they don’t even know that they aren’t being touched by Holy Spirit. It’s a great read. Not saying it is all about psychology but sometimes it can be.

I watched this. Thanks for the message. I agree with nearly everything except about signs in the sky. I separate astrology from astronomy. You shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bath water -just because the occult/enemy has been using the stars for astrology (witchcraft) does not mean God does not speak through the “signs in the heavens”. I agree totally to learn to discern. But if you think signs in the skies does not happen then that requires to not believe the Word of God. Consider the following: 1. Did the wisemen sin by finding the Christ child to worship-they read signs in the stars, matched it with prophesy and determined that the messiah was born in Bethlehem then they went to worship Him. (Matthew 2) 2. What God said on the day He created the “lights in the skies” (Genesis 1:14-19) 3. God naming the signs in the sky that will happen in the Last Days (Acts 2:19-20; Joel 2:30-22; Rev 6:12-14; ) 4. The moment Jesus died, there were 3 hours of darkness, an earthquake which opened graves and people were resurrected and the temple curtain split (Matthew 27:50-52) 5. The description of the woman and dragon and a third of the stars wiped away. I believe this is a display one can see in the stars. Just like when there was a sign when Jesus was born, when He died, and at others moments in history (Revelation 12:1-4). More last days signs to look for: Luke 21:25-28; Luke 21:11; Matthew 24:29; Yes, it is important to abide close to the Living Word (Jesus)and learn and test by studying the Word (the holy scriptures). But God created the stars, sun, planets and moon for more of a purpose then to just give us light and gravity.

Praying is just like manifesting what you want ...you pray to God and put it in his hands manifesting you visualize what it is you want... Your intent.... You say it's a 6 but I say it's a 9 we are both right so neither is wrong it's a all about how you interpret it I understand telling people what you believe the Bible means and how you take it but how can you tell someone else they are wrong have either of you talked to wiccans pagans witches with an open mind on what they had to say not try to argue with them just listen to them talk about their religion this kinda seems one sided to me... The greatest defense against all the wiles and schemes of the enemy is THE WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD. So much of the enemy's gains come at the expense of the IGNORANCE of the church. We are told to study to show ourselves approved unto God a workman that needs not be ashamed, RIGHTLY dividing the Word of Truth. 2Tim2:15. We make it too easy to fall into error and be deceived by bad and false doctrines because of lazyness and refusing to take Romans 12:1&2 seriously. Especially verse 2. The transformation that comes from the renewing of our minds to the Word of Truth and the Way of God.

I am in recovery 2. But that doesn't give you the right to use that as a excuse to use crystals or tarot. Both are wrong in god's sight. There is no point to practice those things and believe in god. You are using something to talk to demons,not god. The people in your church are trying to save you from going using divination . That is why you have prayer.

I’m so sorry you felt like people were judging you and treating you as “less than”. I hope you can find a good church that teaches the Bible where the people are loving and trying sincerely to follow Jesus. Don’t give up…we’re out there! Jesus definitely doesn’t see you as less than! He created you and died for you. He loves us more than we can imagine! The Bible tells us to stay away from things like tarot cards/crystals etc. because there are dark powers (demons) behind those things. Even if you do it innocently, it can open you up to demons having access to your life. God is being protective and loving toward us by telling us to stay away from things like that. I pray that He will become so real to you! He is so good!

Christians need to be careful. There is a fine line with being loving and excepting for who someone “is”, and encourage behavior and practices that are harmful to you. Gods word is truth and God commands us to obey his laws because he knows wants best for us. If we think we know better then God, we’re in deep water. You can learn lessons the hard way, or read the truth that God laid out for us.

I pray you get back into the saddle and revisit the principle concepts confronted by their response to your beliefs and practices. I know what it’s like to be shunned over spiritual beliefs. But now, after ten years, I have been shown by God, tangibly through proven biblical exposure, I was very much off into the occult. Had I prayed and dropped idolatry of big named pastors, deemed apostles, I’d have saved myself much heartache. And I really was a false teacher.

There's nothing new under the sun. The story of Israel in the Old Testament is ALL about God's love for them, contrasted to their MIXING of worship of Him with worship of other gods. The history tells us how angry and upset God was by this, and there WERE consequences to the Israelites of this because He's a jealous God. Our modern ears may not like the sounds of that, but if we call ourselves Christian, we should at least read the book. We need to read the Old Testament.

Christians get into this stuff from a lack of proper discipleship. The Church needs to get busy making disciples which is the prime directive from Jesus Himself. This is God’s program to bring revival. All these people running around begging God to “send revival “ when He’s looking down waiting for us to get with His program.

Well as a former Charismatic who was in the movement for 40 years, or so. My definition of a CHRISTIAN, or Charismatic witch. Is a womanand,or man who. Tries to manipulate the Pastoral leadership of a church. Through praying in tongues and through using the gifts of the Holy Spirit. To do the same. As well as use the said techniques over other unsuspecting Christians. In their sphere of influence. For me there is no such a thing as a CHRISTIAN MYSTIC. To me they are ministers of Satan. A quick correction on what Elijah is saying about "energy". . Energy is not necessarily mass, it's only exclusively mass in objects that are still. The full equation is E = sqrt( (pc)^2 + (mc^2)^2 ) , where p is momentum. However, god doesn't have momentum either (except when as the Word made flesh on earth), so the point still stands with regard to scientific energy. . However, I don't think New Agers mean the scientific definition of "energy" when they use the word (or at least, not all of them do). I'd actually say one of the key issues of many New Agers is that they don't hold an Essence/Energy distinction as the Eastern Orthodox do (whilst still holding Pantheism); but I wouldn't say that the Eastern Orthodox use "Energy" in the scientific sense either.

Regardless of how well intentioned some maybe even who are Christians, we should never speak well of witchcraft or engage in it in any manner. Also, we should not use the worlds message or methods that are contradictory to the Scriptures and think that we will be blessed. These are seducing spirits that teach doctrines of demons, one Timothy 4:1.

But there is one God and one Bible. You make it seem as though it's very vague and it can be interpreted in many different ways. Yes there are many secondary issues that denominations are in disagreement about, but in general, the fundamentals of Christian faith are pretty well laid out!
@marcusanthony4883 жыл бұрын
@@akshayd5360 "There is one God and one Bible". That is nothing but a slogan. The "bible" is a collection of books written by different authors for different purposes over thousands of years. But here is my point: you can talk for hours about whether the Holy Spirit is "person" (as if you know what a divine "person" really is) and not a manifestation of kundalini energy. That is so important to you. But you completely ignore that there are so called Christian teachers, like John MacCarther, for example, who, yes, hold to the Apostle's Creed, but also holds a what I would call a demonically inspired soteriology by which the Holy One of Creation would, from the beginning of creation, insure that half if not more of his children, would, though no fault of their own, be condemned to burn in eternal conscious torment endlessly. Now that belief is far more morally and theologically suspect and worthy of condemnation than anything spoken of in this video today.

I think christian wicca is my spiritual gift. I love Jesus and believe in blessings & performing magic (candles) ,intend to do good things.***** I felt a calling to this after a dream. It probably sounds crazy, but I been praying for my lover (guy), for him to be better, (love thy neighbor). I felt like something was wrong when he splited up from him. So I prayed again, and remember the night before. In my dream, a dark force was taking him away, he was asking for help from Me. I was furious, as I worked with the caster, I liked it myself and started to use candles myself (white magic). I read all the warnings, so I dedicated myself to christian wicca, with God & spells to save him.
