Being cowboy is more than just wearing a hat and boots. We are very blessed to cook for some great cowboys out there.
In this video we sat down with some of the crew of the Poison Spider Cattle Co. outside Casper, WY. We asked them what it means to be a cowboy. This also goes out in celebration of National Day of the Cowboy which occurs the 4th Saturday in July.
Y'all enjoy and keep it cowboy!

A cowboy is an honest man saying honest words and living an honest life. You don't have to wear a hat or ride a horse to be a cowboy. The words you say, the bond you keep, and the life you lead say so.

the National Day of The Cowboy is a long overdue tribute to the true builders of America. our Cowboys, the ranchers, farmers, the settlers of this great country are the unsung heroes who feed us...and who exemplify through hard work, poor pay, and good old fashioned courtesy, honesty, and caring for a way of life that SUPPORTS us all. HATS OFF TO THE COWBOY!

How can someone who hasn't grown up in the country and don't know country folk, find them? I was raised a town kid and have little to no culture, my whole life I've wanted to be a "cowboy" or a ranch hand but my family and I never knew anyone who could teach me the things I wanted to know. How can I find good friends like you and other country folk?

You know Kent, I've been on this earth for more than sixty four years and back about forty years ago I had someone ask me that very same question ! I was working cattle at the time and I really didn't have a good answer, because there are so many words that could be said, but SO many that CAN'T be said, that have to be felt ! These boys know what I'm saying, I can see that. I've worked a lot of different kinds of jobs through the years, one thing I know for truth, you don't have to be a cowboy, to have a cowboy heart! Thanks for sharing and take care.

I can so relate to this sentiment as a 20 year sailor. Being at sea is a lot like being out on the range. You want to meet the Good Lord face to face, that's where you're going to do it. Out there on the ocean, when things go south, it's you and your maker, and you two get to chat pretty danged often. It's a lifestyle, not a career. 100%

WOW!...First of all great video. Second - Its so good to see a tradition still being carried out and to show that it is so much of a better lifestyle than punching a clock in a concrete jungle somewhere. The one saying that caught my attention was what my uncle always drove into our heads on the farm. And that was "Talk Less - Work More". I agree 100%, Kids and the younger generation now days just want to be on there phones, playstations and what nots. And the most important thing is having God in there lives because you never know when he will call you home. So, thanks for having a wonderful channel that I have just subscribed to and will be looking forward to the next one.

Sure I’m college “educated” but there are some profound things you can only learn by hard work and realizing you are not the center of the universe! As someone from the younger generations I feel I have an obligation to the heartland and this culture to show that the old ways are not dead yet, wise man once said, “ as long as there is a bit of land with cattle and a faithful cowboy watching over then the life won’t ever die.”

Was raised in the Casper area. This sure brought back memories. Good God fearing people, hard working and straight shooters. Wish there were more of these kind of folks everywhere today, our country would be better off.

This shit makes me cry... but not tears of anguish, tears of joy.... because there are still honest people in this world and there's hope that they pass these virtues on to future generations, regardless of religious/racial/geographical affiliations

There is nothing better than eating camp cooking, a morning sunrise, night sunset. The sound of cattle in the distance. A family of coyotes singing at night. and the thunder rumbling off in the distance. Oh, and a good horse to get ya though each day. I almost forgot; getting up in the morning stiff and sore from the day before, giving thanks for the new day and a chance to do it all over again with God at your side... There is nothing better in the world than being a Cowboy...

A Cowboy is a man. You don't have to ride a horse or punch cattle to be a Cowboy. Say what you mean and mean what you say. What is that old song how does it go his heart is a feather in all kinds of weather, the right attitude. God bless the working Cowboys....and the cooks too, Kent!
