"something" isn't waiting for the bus rather you are the one waiting.

Let me explain, if it was so, you would say "Waiting for a bus, I saw something fall on my head. The main idea is "Waiting for a bus and right after the word "I" describes who is waiting for it. Your sentence are saying that "Something was waiting for a bus and decided to fall down". Does it make sense?​@@charlesflannery4610
