I put food out all year round, it doesn't stop them hibernating, every individual is different anyway & when they choose to hibernate will be different. I'm actually glad I started to leave food out all year round, I used to stop after not having any visitors for a few weeks but I had one hog visiting on & off right up to Christmas night last year, got a ring camera for Christmas so put that out into the feeding station & I'm glad I did as this hog turned up absolutely riddled with ticks, managed to find a local lady who's been treating hedgehogs for 25 years so take him. Released the hedgehog back in the garden end of march, she spent a few days hanging around the garden before choosing to wonder off, hope she returns one day.

Having a camera is such a helpful tool for monitoring the hedgehogs and checking on their wellbeing, without actually interfering. great work that you managed to get the hedgehog treated and the tick burden removed.
