Your tips are always spot on, and it shows the years of actual experience that you’ve had. I have a spot near me , but there’s not a wind direction that works there, because of the topography. Great video.

Yes Sir. Good points. One thing that I'd add that I've noticed over the years. I have a few stands that I have to watch and see what the wind is going to do at the magic hour. I have a stand in particular That needs a SE wind, but not just a SE wind. It has to be a SE wind that will blow more 7 or more mph until after dark, or else when the thermals drop, SE wind becomes a NW wind and my gig is up.

Amen Brother, totally spot on, great advice on all of it. I have been trying to explain all of this to my wife for years as to why I set my stands where and how I do it. On our old lease, food sources were too scattered in the pine plantations, so I set her up on a very good funnel. She got some of the biggest bucks of everyone on the lease. The wind is a killer on some spots, had one that no matter what I did, I got busted, swirling wind pocket. You explained it very well and hopefully people will take this knowledge and put it to good use.

Good stuff! Are you finding most of your “feed trees” scouting ahead of hunts? Or are you going in blind, scouting through till you find a feed tree and setting up on it immediately?

@@jsummers11B you have to walk and check trees that are feeding. Every tree has a season it drops. Do some research in your area and seek those trees out

@@rbingel I let the feed tree be the decoy. Most of my hunts are a mile from the truck. I carry enough stuff as it is.
