I'm thinking of using the wife's hair dryer on rubber dishwasher supply line being supplied from a barbed supply fitting - can't get it on at room temp. Will this work? Should I use Rectorseal pipe thread sealant?

Can you use a 1" barb fitting with a 1" propex tube. In stead of a propex fitting.

Question; The 1/4 in plastic barb connector, I ordered on Amazon, for my polyethylene 1/4 in tubing from an Aquasena under the sink water filter is too LARGE to push into the tubing (I need to make some connection modifications). Can I expand it and make softer the tubing with hair dryer heat so it will push into the barb connector?? Thanks!

it's plastic. It can be steel or even brass but it is plastic
